RE: Shining Prospect
Giichi smiled back at Amiroo's response, surprised himself that Amiroo was surprised about him calling them friends. The talk about surfing on their home world got his attention.
"I don't think you ever told me about your home world. What's it like? Is that where you've been hanging out when you're not on Earth?" |

RE: Shining Prospect
SOLIS pondered the question for a moment, it hadn't been too long since it had still been with it's creator. It seemed so much has happened since in such a short time frame.
"I was created in a lab at Smart Software Solutions, 65536 South Main street, Station Square. While many individuals went into my production, I was primarily the product of one Dr. Runges.* Being as Station Square is now in the hands of those mechs, his whereabouts are uncertain, and was never told of his purpose for me." Being the ever logical computer it technically was, it felt a straight question received nothing more than a straight answer. [*OOC: In case anyone is unsure how that name is pronounced, it's My-kul Roo-nez.] |

RE: Shining Prospect
[ sorry about the delay, I've had some things going on here recently that prevented me from posting. I could only log in with my cell phone. Let me tell ya, making a post with a cell phone....not gonna happen :/ ]
Quote:"I think I'd prefer something like this or the later M14. A battle rifle basically, with a full size rifle cartridge and semi-automatic fire." Rye nodded reaching for a weapon in one of the lockers and offered it to Nail. He would find that though it didn't look too far removed from what Nail was used to, it was extremely light. It's surface resembled the same material the projectiles were constructed of, only unlike the projectiles, the surface was rough and the colors dulled down presumably to reduce it's visibility and give the user extra grip. "I think we can accommodate ya there, this is a *three short raptor chirps followed by a low caw*. It should do you nicely" she said smiling. "It features self regenerating memory Arkimytrium, is collapsible to an extent, 9550 FPS, as well as selective fire. You can be sharpshooter, or you can switch it to three round burst or full auto for close quarters. But most of all you're gonna love this part the most, the scope is capable of zooming in onto a target almost 1.8 miles away, FLIR, M.R.I., the works." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote:"I don't think you ever told me about your home world. What's it like? Is that where you've been hanging out when you're not on Earth?" "I've only been to Arar a couple times, both times only briefly while changing ships. I live on a ring world in orbit around a gas giant. We maintain an environment you'd expect here on Earth 70 million years ago. I'm afraid I haven't been home since the merge. I'm starting to question now if I'll ever get home." he said frowning, that fact clearly bothering him. Amiroo didn't like to show it, but he was home sick, he was home sick bad. Amiroo stopped next to the ship and poked his head in a side hatch to see Era making room for cargo containers in the rear and scooting the seats forward...this looked like it was going to be a cramped and uncomfortable ride. "we almost ready to go?" Amiroo asked. Era swung around quickly, clearly startled. "Don't do that!" "haha, nervous eh?" "I'm always nervous going to battle, you'd have to some kind of fool not to be. But yeah, we'll be good for lift off here in a few minutes. Get everything loaded in the cargo containers and get strapped in, we need to leave." Amiroo simply nodded and began doing just that. "Come on Gichii, lets get this stuff loaded, Rog can mess with it on our way there." |

RE: Shining Prospect
Nail held up the rifle in his hands, noting the light weight. While he was very impressed by the engineering and Rye's description, picking up this weapon bothered him. He'd done quite well up until this point using plain old guns from his own planet, even with their comparatively low velocity, bullet drop, and stopping power. Using something like this felt like cheating. But if it was all they had, then it would have to do.
"I think I'll be fine with single shot and a regular scope." He realized that glossing over the scope might make him sound a bit rude, so he smiled and added on something afterwards. "I mean...it's Robotropolis, in the city. Not really anywhere to use the scope anyway." Turning to SOLIS, he couldn't help but wonder about something. "So if you were made in Station Square, you think we might find Dr. Runges? I bet if there were more of you, it'd be a great help to the war effort." |

"We maintain an environment you'd expect here on Earth 70 million years ago. "
"You have data on Earth going that far back?" Giichi looked up, surprised. "You should share that with the paleontologists and museums around here after this is over. That is...if they could get over seeing all of you first." He smiled as he imagined the group of raptors walking into a natural history museum to the astonishment of all. Maybe like that one kid's movie where that scientist kidnapped some dinosaurs and fed them cereal to make them smart, so they could sing musical numbers... In any case he quickly stacked cases as fast as he could. It wasn't as easy for him considering how small he was though. [*Brownie points if you can guess the movie I'm referring to . RE: Shining Prospect
["We're Back", perhaps? You guys do as you will, I'm simply following.]
"His whereabouts are uncertain at this time, assuming he's still alive. Regardless, I believe I'm the only unit of my kind." SOLIS seemed to show no emotion towards either of these statements, focusing on cold hard facts. "However, like all machines, I can be trivially duplicated given the right tools. Assuming you could find the manufactured shells and Michael, that would be possible." Such a thought was interesting, how would a meeting with an exact copy of itself go? It conjectured that no arguments could logically happen, as it shared all of its opinions with itself. No exchange of information would take place either, given it knew everything its copy would as well. Then it wondered, "Nail, seeing as I've been of very little use to you as of yet, why would you want more of me?" Indeed the only useful things it had done could be emulated very simply with a standard smart phone. |

RE: Shining Prospect
[*GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASP* I forgot all about that movie! *childhood memories come flooding back*
]Amiroo finished loading the last crate into the back of the ship and took his seat next to Era. "*sigh*, here we go I guess." Amiroo said shakily. "Thought you weren't nervous" Era said not taking her eyes away from her control panels. The ship began to hum, buzz, and whirr as the ship was brought online system by system. Tybe chose that moment to enter the ship and take his place behind Era, he too was dressed for battle. All the weapons, armor, and equipment would really stress the fact that, this was it, they were off to war. Quote:"You have data on Earth going that far back?"...."You should share that with the paleontologists and museums around here after this is over. That is...if they could get over seeing all of you first." Amiroo smiled from his seat, "Yeah, we have data going all the way back to the time your people call the Jurassic period. Remember, once upon a time, that was our native time period. That's where we come from...originally." Quote:I think I'll be fine with single shot and a regular scope. "I mean...it's Robotropolis, in the city. Not really anywhere to use the scope anyway." "Yeah, I know it's a bit much by your standards. Robotropolis won't be the issue, when you guys get on that ship, you'll be dealing with well trained professionals wielding weapons that could actually be even nastier. Some shoulder mounted guass weapons can fire projectiles at 40,000fps to punch through shielded vehicles, buildings, and ships. So do keep on your toes Nail, this won't be like anything you've faced before." It was then she could hear the ship begin to whirr as it's engines spooled up, "We need to go, it looks like our comrades are ready." She said turning in the direction of the hanger. "Oh, and if you find something in the field you prefer better, don't just drop that weapon on the ground. It's generations and generations ahead of anything you guys have. If Robo got his hands on it...well, that would be bad." she called as she ran through the front exit, "hurry!" They would arrive to very crowded vehicle, only two seats remained. "Come on you guys, get strapped in!" Era said from the pilot's seat. As they would do so, the outside hanger would go dark, illuminated only by whirling yellow lights on the walls. An alarm begins wailing, as the massive metal hanger doors above began to open revealing a wall of blowing snow and raging wind. A blizzard was raging outside. The ship lifted off and ascended the hanger, and into the storm. The ship immediately lurched as it was struck by 70mph winds and driving snow. Amiroo grabbed hold of his seat, "whoooo boy, we chose a good time to leave didn't we?" Era didn't respond as she worked the controls to finally push the craft against the wind, and into the sky. The craft buffeted and rocked as it pushed it's way through the clouds, the ships external forward facing lights providing the only illumination, lighting up snow as it pounded against the windshield. "Alright we're out of here." Era said. "once we get to space, we'll have some time for you Rog to Hook SOLIS up to our transmitter to get all this put together, we need to be snappy though. I don't want to hang around Robotropolis any longer than needed." (to cross country) |
