"Wait a second. That wasn't what I had in mind. We don't need to talk to him to let him know what's going on. Because...'all warfare is based on deception'. Another little saying we have around here you might want to learn."

Nail got a most devilish grin on his face.

"Your friends in space are looking for you, right? And we're dark now in terms of radio communications? So let's take advantage of that. Why not just put a transmitter in the middle of Robotropolis? The transmitter sends out a signal that looks like yours, so they decide to investigate. They see the huge military complex, and bomb it on the spot. Let Robo find out the hard way someone else wants this planet besides him. I think he's got enough reserves to survive the first attack.

"And the best part is Robo won't know we're around...not yet anyway. We can watch from the shadows until an opportunity presents itself."

Giichi watched as Terrador manipulated the staff. While he'd had that thing for a while, the cat didn't think he'd ever seen the echidna do that trick before. He actually continued staring for a moment, before returning to his senses.

Quote:"Fair enough, but that doesn't change the fact you need to know the difference in markings between friendlies and enemies. You also need to get some practice in against tactics used by our enemies. We likely don't have a lot of time, we may have to leave soon. But every little bit helps."

Giichi watched as Rye spoke, nodding in agreement. After she finished, he returned his gaze back to Terrador.

"She is right you know. I'd like to get started as soon as we can. This sounds very dangerous, but at the same time I'm very curious about my new enemy."

[SOLIS]

"Please keep in mind," SOLIS interrupted, "we're not entirely sure they know we're here, or if they're even the same entities you claim they are. Additionally, recall the anomalies that have been appearing worldwide, it's entirely possible they're from a reality completely separate from our own."

[Terrador Bellator]

(About the staff; it's slightly different from what's seen in his profile as I've given it a minor update. The half foot tall stick is it's true form and only increases size once the chosen weilder places their hands on it.)

Terrador looked off to the side as if he was pondering their words. His arms crossed and a sigh was heard from the warrior of earth.

"Fair enough. If it is necessary, I will comply." he replied with a series of nods, exchanging glances between his allies. "Since we must begin immediately, I advice we start this training now. Lead the way." he went on, having no idea where to go or where anything is. Being secluded within a cave made things even more confusing for him.

AMiroo sighed, "How exactly would we get a transmitter into Robotropolis? I have the vaguest feeling that he'll be able to detect our ship. We're invisible to radar and the naked eye, but FLIR and certain types of radiation sensors will be able to pick us up. Our ship doesn't have any weapons to defend ourselves with should we be discovered. You feeling gutsy enough to fly into Robotropolis shaking our tails in Jelly bellies' face, hoping he won't see them?"

"We could use a drone, but that presents the problem that if it were captured it would be like handing buttnik teir three technology with the added benefit of giving him a flight recorder to tell him where the drone came from." Amero chimed in.

Amiroo was about to respond when the computers in the room suddenly started chiming, some sort of warning or other. Tybe snapped back to his screen, his expression sour as he took in what the computer had to tell him.

"They've started moving, they're on a course for Earth, they're coming. I have no idea where they're going to make planet fall, but at their current rate of speed, assuming they don't jump to FTL, they'll be here in twelve hours."

Amiroo sighed "Whatever we do, we need to do it now. How about this, we drop off a drone from our ship just outside Robotropolis, that way if it gets caught and it's flight recorder manages to survive self destruction, it'll only show that it came from just outside the city, no trace back to us. What do you guys think?"

"Sounds good to me" Rog said, "I could dig up some of our communication chatter, and have it transmit that. It'll sound like we're just talking to each other down here."

Amiroo paused to consider that, " Era, how sure are you, that that signature is a imperial ship?"

"almost 100%"

"Hmmm, lets say for argument sake, that this ship isn't what we think it is, and we lead it into what effectively amounts to an ambush. What then?"

"Then we remain silent, and hope our presence goes unnoticed while buttnik gets destroyed by whoever that is, then hope they're satisfied and leave."

Amiroo seemed to contemplate that for a while, the risks were high no matter which path they took. But they had to choose one.

"What do you say Nail?" Amiroo said turning to the canine,"Would you care to indulge in ruining our horizontally challenged friends day, does that sound like an adventure?" Amiroo asked with a smile.

"pfft, more like his whole existence" Era giggled.

"Yeah, I'd say that would ruin anybodies day. You're just hanging out, minding your own business, when this giant starship comes dancin' on out of the sky, and proceeds to clean your clock quite vigorously, why, because it felt like it for all anyone knows haha. You want me to tell the others?" Tybe said

Amiroo chuckled at Tybes colorful depiction of what they were about to unleash upon Robotnik, "Yeah, tell them to meet us in the hanger. Me, Nail, and Era will go poke around our drone hanger and see which one we can afford to part with. Come on you guys" He said departing for the elevator.

Meanwhile Rye was leading Gichii and Terra towards the holochamber when the call came.

"Rye, Gichii, and Terra. Report to the main hanger please, there has been a change in plans."

Rye skidded to a stop and growled, "These raptors need to make up their minds, follow me." she said running off in the direction of the hanger.

"I guess you guys will have to claw it."

Nail shook his head at Amiroo's idea of transmitting it by air.

"I was thinking about doing it the old-fashioned way. Sneaking in on foot, stowing the beacon somewhere, and then leaving. Robotnik may be powerful, but he's foolishly arrogant when it comes to security. If you know our world's history, then you know about the Freedom Fighters. They sneak into Robotropolis all the time to sabotage Robo's plans, and Fathead never seems to learn. It's easier than you think. And it's not like the beacon has to be in the middle of town. If it's in the general area they're bound to see Robotropolis."

"That definitely sounds easier. But couldn't you just rip the flight recorder out of the thing before you send it off? Aircraft here have black boxes too, but it's not like they're essential parts for flight."

Nail offered a small smile, although something bothered him.

"If you were going to just send a drone out there to drop off the transmitter, what do you need me and the other Mobians to come along? I don't understand."

Giichi frantically took off after Rye, as a confused look crossed his face.

"What's going on now? Do you know?"

Shame about not getting to see the holo training and learning more about the dinosaur wars. Giichi had been greatly looking forward to it.

[SOLIS]

"I believe their reasoning, Nail, is that a standard piece of equipment specifically for recording what happened in the event of a crash not being present may raise some red flags, so to speak. However, from what I've been able to gather, modifying the black boxes data would not be difficult. Perhaps I could generate some fake data?"

[Echo]

"There's no place to run and hide is why, so here with us is as good a place as any. Make no mistake, this situation could explode into the next world war by as early as tomorrow morning, even if our plan goes off without a hitch, they'll call for help, and that help will redefine your conception of war. In short, you'll either fight them now, with us, or on your own later. At least with us, you have the advantage of having an idea of what your enemy is capable of, and which scenarios are most likely." Tybe said.

"And on top of that, you, Gichii, and Terrador are all highly trained in combat to varying degrees. Without you, it would be just me carrying out these missions. Even though we'll be working largely covertly to manipulate the titanic forces around us, it's extremely dangerous, and should I make a mistake, your world would suffer the consequences. I'd prefer not to have your whole planet on my back alone, I need your expertise, and I don't have the time to track down any of the other people of your caliber." Amiroo added.

"I can only think of a few others on the planet who could help us anyways: the freedom fighters,GUN, and a couple others. Sonic and his merry group are almost impossible enough to track down, much less some of the more mysterious ones like Jav. These people only pop up occasionally in high profile situations like they just fell out of the sky, and then are just gone without a trace afterwards." Amero said.

"Ya know, Nail actually has a point there. Robotnik, for all his brilliance, is kind of an idiot at the same time. We could probably smuggle it in undetected. I mean we'll likely have to drop the drone off hours before the rebels show up. While Robotnik won't be able to detect the super luminal signals it's giving off, it has the same drawbacks as our ship, Robotnik is likely to detect it in some way, and shoot it down before it gets the chance to do it's job. I hate to be advocating this, but I think directly infiltrating the city on foot and planting the transmitter manually, while dangerous, may be our surest way to success." Rog interjected.

"Be that as it may, if we get caught, we'll be robotisized, held for ransom, or worse. Our Mobian friends, well they'll just be crispy crittered, or turned into robot janitors or something." Tybe interjected.

"We're talking about the fate of our home world, it goes without saying that it's worth the risk."

"I didn't say it wasn't, I'm just putting it out there that going in on foot is going to be extremely dangerous, and the consequences of failure will be hideous, not just for us, but the whole planet."

"Maybe that won't be necessary. But if you like you could work with Rog to isolate some of our random radio chatter and format it for transmission." Amiroo suggested before turning to Nail, " Nail, do you know how to get in there on foot, or anyone who does, perhaps some of the freedom fighters?"

[I think I've waited for Terrador long enough.]

Nail inwardly chuckled as Amiroo listed himself, Giichi, and Terrador as "highly trained in combat". Sure, Nail himself was, but Giichi was just a kid and he clearly hated violence. Terrador... Well, it was cool being able to manipulate the earth and all at least, but he wasn't sure the echidna had met anyone like Robotnik.

"I do appreciate the compliments, but there's something extra I want for doing this. It's not money though. For the past few years, I have been separated from my family due to being in prison."

He withdrew a wrinkled, faded picture from his pocket. In the picture, they'd see a smiling Nail sitting on a couch with a purple vixen, also grinning at the camera. At their feet, two fox kits played on the floor with their toys, one girl and one boy. The boy had Nail's gray fur, while the girl had a light lavender shade to match the mother.

"My wife Canma, and my kids Ellia and Cebran. I want you to help me find them. With your technology, I don't think it will be difficult for you. But it would mean the world to me..."

While Nail normally kept a very stoic look on his face, he delivered the last sentence with an almost quivering expression that he tried to hide. A tear started to form underneath one of his eyes. The emotion was completely genuine and not just there to garner sympathy.

Nail neglected to mention Canma had been executed. However, that was before the world merge. There was a chance she might still be alive, if this world had merged with a timeline where she was...
