Chaos Within

[Rampage]

[Tee hee hee hee.. yeah, this is going to be ugly. But yeah I plan on posting as the other two, but I wanted to spread out all the villains (not to mention my own characters out a bit)

Rampage heard Robotnik's order, now through his radio, and soon started to feel the distinctive thumping of one of Robotnik's walking mechs. But something was off. Rampage could hear the sound coming from behind him. He knew he'd only trained his turret a few degrees off from the hull of the tank and Robotnik had been directly in front of him. And... was there two foot falls out there?

Pulling his face away from the periscope with a start, Rampage cranked on the controls to spin the turret around behind him. As the turret spun, Rampage stared through his targeting scope and nearly jumped out of his seat when a huge gorilla creature was staring right back at him through the scope. "ACK!!!" Rampage squeezed on the trigger on instinct firing the cannon point-blank into the creature's face. The other one however would be unharmed.

[Dr. Robotnik]

[Did you want to post as Mammoth this round before I post as Robo and Gail?]

[Mammoth Mogul]

[Yeah, sorry, was hoping the other team would be joining us already. Unfortunately, with that vacation of mine coming up quick, this thread might become a whole lot more empty...]

"ARGH!!!" Mogul roared as the creature's attack hit home, causing him to stumble forwards. Lucky for him, mammoth's have thick hides, meaning the creature's claws only did largely superficial damage. Plus it wrecked his suit. Mogul really didn't like that.

"Do you have ANY idea how much a suit in MY size costs!?!" Mogul turned on the offending creature with death in his eyes, aiming another chaos slash right into the creature's face.

[Gail Strafer]

Rampage's cannon shot lighted up his general area quite nicely for Gail to aim his RPG. This time the wolf prayed he'd loaded it correctly. Fortunately he had, as the launcher kicked back slightly with a satisfying whoosh. The RPG flew a few feet away before the rocket kicked in, sending it sailing in Rampage's general direction.

As fast as he could, he dragged a rocket out of the satchel and worked it onto the end of the launcher. It was a little hard for him to do it though, between his inexperience and the hungry look in his eyes as he watched and waited for something to blow up.

[Dr. Robotnik]

[Ugh...I hate complex battle scenes like this.]

Rampage's cannon shot neatly destroyed the creature's crystal, and the rest of its body quickly followed suit. However, with all the shooting he was doing, the badger was beginning to attract a lot of attention. Two more of the gorilla creatures lumbered out of the mist. This time they walked far enough apart so that they could not be easily shot one after another. One of them happened to spy Jii as she waited near the tank. It started to lumber after her.

Meanwhile, another circled the vehicle, bewildered slightly by the strange object (to it, at least). But before it moved in to strike, it happened to see the bright flare from where Gail's rocket had come from. Instead of attacking right away, it decided it would just wait and watch what the rocket did.

Other creatures had noticed Gail's shot as well. After the rocket launched, Chadin, Gail, and Anu all would probably hear a small chorus of the screams. Several bird creatures quickly flew to their location, from where they'd seen the rocket.

This time Mammoth's shot struck home, shattering the bird creature's crystal. Its shard clattered across the ground. However, the first creature Mammoth had attacked began to reform its head, and caught sight of him again. As fast as it could, it began staggering over towards Mogul, wildly waving its arms around. However, it looked very unsteady and off balance from its earlier hits.

"Almost there Rampage!"

But before he could make it, he too witnessed the rocket coming from nowhere out of the darkness. If Robo were any other person, he'd probably do something heroic like jump in front of the rocket or try to deflect it or something. Alas, this was Robo here, who only looked after his own skin. Instead, he decided to turn to face the unknown threat from the darkness.

First the creatures, and now someone with a bazooka. Was it one of the freedom fighters? Where on earth did they get something like THAT?!

[Chadin]

A brilliant orange fireball erupted in the gloom, briefly illuminating the outline of Rampage's tank before being engulfed in a thick plume of black smoke. But Rampage's tank wasn't the only thing the shot lit up in the dark. With Robotnik's mech so close to Rampage's tank, the blast illuminated him as well, giving me the briefest of glances at the fat man himself. My eyes shot open in disbelief.

"Gail, forget the tank, I think I just spotted Robotnik off to the right of it. Put the next shot over there." I urged, my eyes glued to the spot I'd seen the ghost and pointing off into the darkness to help Gail orientate himself.

But as the screams of the creature's erupted all around us, my attention immediately turned to the numerous creatures closing in on us. In the murky haze, I could only just barely see the creatures moving out there. A shadow moving against a shadow. Only the glowing jewels at their hearts let me see them at all. A growing dread sank into me as I saw that there had to be dozens of the beasts surrounding us.

"Gail, you wanted a fight? I think you got it..." My eyes and ears darted from one ominous shadow to another, trying to gauge which one might be closest. I spotted one of the bird creatures closer than I liked and took aim at the crystal and fired, leading the target the same way I learned hot to shoot at Swatpods.

I spotted another closing in and shifted position and fired again, making sure to keep anything away from Gail until he got his next shot off.

[Jijeka-Te]

(Ji) "EYAAAAAAAAH!"

The pharaoh wasn't close enough to be harmed by the explosion from the rocket, but the shockwave got her and tossed her away. She wound up smacking into a wall with no real idea where it was.

Anu's eyes widened as she recognized Ji's voice. "Her Highness is over there! ...somewhere..."

[Rampage]

Rampage was just swinging his turret around to bear onto the second ape creature when the entire tank shook violently from the impact of the RPG. In fact, so violently that Rampage slammed his head into an interior bulkhead. Fortunately, he hit the bulkhead with the metallic side of his face, resulting in a large dent in the bulkhead and a sizable one in Rampage's forehead too.

The RPG struck his tank lower down the hull, among the treads and blew them apart, rendering his tank dead in the water. Rampage glanced around the interior of the tank, and could already tell that the power systems were damaged as well given the way the lights were flickering.

"Grrr..... Somebody's gonna pay for wrecking my new toy!!!" Rampage seethed, his voice low and full of malice. He grabbed his signature Mauler rifle and beat a hasty retreat through the tank's topside hatch.

[Mammoth Mogul]

Shrieking as it was, Mammoth head the creature coming and turned to face it. Sensing weakness, Mammoth wasted no time at all on civility and threw out another chaos slash towards the creature's face to finish it off.

[Gail Strafer]

Gail got an extremely satisfied look on his face as a nice boom lit up his target. In fact, he was so pleased with himself that he would have missed Robo completely if Chadin hadn't pointed the fatman out.

In spite of the creatures swarming in, he decided he would just try to get his shot off quickly before they were otherwise engaged. As soon as the rocket clicked into place, he leveled the launcher back down, letting loose another RPG round.

The wolf managed to lower the launcher just in time for one of the bird creatures to slash at his face with its talons. He frantically waved the empty launcher around like a club, before finally delivering a solid smack to its crystal. Alas, he did not escape the fight unscathed. If the others looked, they'd see him covered with a few bloody slash marks around his eyes. As he felt the blood dripping down his face, a growl escaped the canine's lips.
