RE: Chaos Within
Gail sure didn't like the sound of that ceiling groaning overhead. Not to mention everything appeared to be catching fire around them. A flaming piece of paper landed on his hand. He nearly yelped, but instead clenched his jaw closed and let the yelp come out as a pathetic little squeak. After all, fire would be the least of their troubles if the bot found them again.
When Nail waved for him to follow, Gail did so, crawling along the ground and careful not to get his hands burned on anything. That ceiling sounded like it wasn't going to hold up for too much longer. |

RE: Chaos Within
Quote:"Long story. I'll tell you later when we're safe." "Damnit!" Giichi shook his head frustratedly. "I wish he'd tell me more than that." In spite of the terrifying thought of meeting that protoype SWATbot, Giichi hated not knowing what was happening down there and for Nail to not give any information of value. Maybe they were just too busy with the fight down below. "I really hope we get there soon. It feels like it's been months instead of just minutes trying to get this wrapped up." |

RE: Chaos Within
[I'm sorry guys, I thought there was someone else who had to post first!]
"Giving up would have cost me my life a long time ago, so no, I tend not to quit. And if its taken you that long to form a complete thought, then maybe you should have those chips in your head replaced!" The hedgehog knew making any kind of move against the cyborg would be stupid, so instead, he relaxed his body a bit, both appearing to not care about the badger, and more importantly, loosening his muscles for when the time came to begin dodging his attacks. He also slipped the rings off his knuckles, and around his fingers, waiting for Rampage to make a move. |

RE: Chaos Within
By this point in the fight, most of the crowd that could potentially had gotten caught in the crossfire, either by Rampage and his weapon, or even his Com-bot companion, had already dispersed or taken shelter. The crowds especially in around where the shadow dragon had fallen appeared to have all but moved on, including any of the Freedom Fighters with them.
Maybe I will, boy. I could always use an upgrade. But don't ya think you're a bit out of your league? Heck, seems like everyone else around here has up and left ya. Much as I've enjoyed our little tussle, I've still got work to do, so I'm gonna offer you a deal. You scedaddle with the rest of your Freedom Fighter buddies now, and I won't present your disembodied head to the big man. Stick around and try to be all brave and noble and well... I'll end up presenting your head to the big man." Beta didn't waste time trying to move between the narrow aisles between the furniture. The Com-bot's imposing size was too vast for the aisles regardless. Instead, Beta simply started stomping his way over the furniture until his massive weight crushed the desks beneath his feet. Not exactly the stealthiest approach, but certainly an intimidating sound for Gail and Nail to hear as it approached their general location. "Resistance is futile, Freedom Fighters. Surrender yourselves for Robotization for the glory of Robotnik." Beta called out as he momentarily paused in between crushing desks so that it's prey could hear it's announcement. Just then, the emergency fire sprinkler system kicked in thanks to all the smoke created by Beta's original attack. While Beta's circuitry was rated for water exposure (slightly) the deluge of water and the steam rising up from the drenching flames combined together to create a pseudo smoke screen. |

RE: Chaos Within
The strange raptor turned his head to the side in surprise as the hallway he was in started filling with a vapor of some variety.
"Nail, Gail, you need to hurry!" the stranger yelled, Then... Quote:"Resistance is futile, Freedom Fighters. Surrender yourselves for Robotization for the glory of Robotnik." The building visibly shook around him as the robot began invading the interior of the building. "Hang on guys, I'm coming!" the raptor yelled as he brought his rifles' scope to one of his eyes. Using it's FLIR function, he quickly made his way through the smoke until he found Nail and Gail at the end of a large room...or what he thought use to be a large room...it was hard to tell really. Although he could see them, he couldn't get to them yet. If the swatbot had any FLIR capability, he'd be a sitting duck. Instead, he chose to go on the offensive. The raptor crept his rifle around the corner, planted his sights firmly on what he believed to be the the Swatbot's neck, hoping to score a critical hit on something. He let loose a series of three round bursts, aggressively seeking out spots that looked to hold promise. ------------------------------------------ Meanwhile the roar of engines drew near overhead, not far from Alpha and Rampage as they fought. It would catch the attention of everyone nearby as the exotic alien craft settled into a hover a short distance above a war torn street , decloaked for all to see. The back opened up, revealing crew members about to depart. "Alright, lets do it!" Amero said, jumping to the street below and taking his position. The others soon followed immediately behind rifles at the ready, until only Gichii and Era remained. "You going down sweetheart, or are you staying with me?" ------------------------------------------ The arrival of the ship had definitely caught the notice of the mysterious female raptor. It seems she had been watching for this event from where she had safely stored Amiroo; in the front of a burned out restaurant within eyesight of the battle between Rampage and Alpha and now landing zone for the Raptors. "Player 1, this is player 2, be advised the lizard wagon has arrived, the lizard wagon has arrived." |

RE: Chaos Within
Nail continued to crawl towards the "EXIT" sign, as the Combot continued to crush desks behind him. However, through the water and smoke, he spotted the distinctive silhouette of a raptor entering the room. You couldn't mistake that snout for much of anything else, after all. The raptor began opening fire. Was it just Nail, or did that uniform look a little different from what he saw the raptors suit up in before they came here?
In any case, since they had someone providing covering fire now, Nail patted Gail on the back. After nodding towards the door, Nail immediately jumped up into a stand and strafed sidways, firing on the Combot's silhouette as he rushed towards the exit door out of the office. |

RE: Chaos Within
Gail looked at Nail quizzically for a second, but then the fox was off and running for the exit door and spraying rounds. Terrified of being alone, Gail jumped up and rushed after him as quickly as possible.
"Wait for me!" Gail jumped up as well, firing Nail's 1911 one-handed at the Combot. However, since he wasn't as practiced as Nail at moving while shooting, he just fired without even looking as he sprinted for the exit as well. |

RE: Chaos Within
Giichi looked at Era, paralyzed by the question. Should he go or not? He'd been in Robotropolis before, but never in the middle of a war before. But then again, things appeared to have been quiet when they were on the top of the tower. A lot of the fighting appeared to be over already. Perhaps it would be okay. Masking his true feelings with a fake smile, he nodded to Era and leaped out of the back of the hatch.

RE: Chaos Within
Omega opened his mouth, likely to make some smart reply to the cyborg, but before he could say anything, the sound of the craft's engines grabbed his attention. He looked up at it, and his face registered a mix of shock and slight fear as the ship started spewing prehistoric creatures out of the back. The young hedgehog had never seen anything close to them, unless Vector or Espio counted, but they were pretty far off too.
I might be able to fight the scrap head myself, but these guys? I have no idea who they are... He took a step back, and eyed Rampage, trying to gauge his reaction to the newcomers. Couldn't even bring some smart response to mind. He just tried to keep an eye on both parties without leaving himself too exposed, though it would be pretty easy for either to take advantage of the situation right now. |

RE: Chaos Within
Rampage thought he saw Alpha about to make a reply, just before that darn ship he'd seen from before return. Lo and behold, nothing short of tall lizards started popping out the back, most of them armed. He plainly remembered the other critter similar to these lining up shots with his head before Beta showed up to keep them company. Now it looked like a whole squad was dropping down into the fight.
Much as he loved a good, uneven fight, Rampage knew he was already injured from Alpha's opening shot, as well as those powerful punches of his. If he were fresher, by all means, he'd love nothing more than to tussle with these things. Unfortunately, he didn't particularly like his odds anymore. Of course, he'd need a distraction to get clear. Luckily, he still had his laser rifle slung across his back. "Well, looks like this is the part where I take my leave then boy." In a flash, Rampage reached back and snapped his laser rifle up, firing fully automatic from the hip one-handed in the general direction of the raptors. For good measure he strafed towards Alpha too in the hopes it would be enough to encourage the stubborn hedgehog to back off. Firing in this way of course would be highly inaccurate, but hopefully the sight of so many laser shots streaking through the air around them would be enough to force his opponents into cover. Beta did, indeed have some FLIR-esque vision capabilities, but once the new raptor started shooting, Beta hardly needed that to tell the general direction of the incoming fire. The first few shots easily scored direct hits to Beta's neck assembly, causing some damage. But like the rest of it's robotic brethren, the Com-bot's were built to endure a straight up fight like this. Nevertheless, Beta did raise it's free arm to protect it's vital neck assembly while still leaving just enough room to still see over it's protective arm. The mini-laser gun whirled up again, its noise like that of a banshee's scream. From right to left, Beta hosed the general direction of the incoming fire, intent on slicing both the walls, and the attack in half with it's hellish red glow. Additional shots started to rip into Beta, but the shots were poorly aimed due to the smoke and mist Nail was moving through. Beta however, did not cease firing. He merely widened his strafing arc, hoping to mow down the mobile targets. |
