RE: Chaos Within
Thankfully, Omega's stance allowed him to drop flat on his back quickly, so he at least avoided the savage clawing Rampage intended for him. The shock of hitting the ground was a slight pain, but the new vantage point allowed him to pull his legs up, and launch his feet straight into the cyborg's torso, before rolling further back and scrambling to his feet.
He looked to Rampage, and sneered at him, "You might wanna trim those sometime, someone might get hurt!" Hopefully the badger's rash temper would let him be goaded into blind attacks, at least, that was the hedgehog's thought. |

RE: Chaos Within
Amiroo understood, "Alright, take this!" Amiroo said tossing a small device he would clip to his ear, it was a radio.
Amiroo turned, and took a few round bursts of his own at the bot, before turning to the newly opened door. "I'm out of here, good luck Nail!" Amiroo sprinted through the building with blinding speed only legs like his could provide. He turn through doorways, sprinted down hallways, and finally down a small stairwell that lead to an exit to other side of the building. He stopped short of the door, opening it slowly and listening a moment. Remarkably, he heard nothing. So he chanced a peek around the door, finding only an abandoned street littered with burned out cars, and debris everywhere. He cautiously slipped out onto the sidewalk, leaving the door behind him opened should he have to make a hasty retreat back inside. He held his weapon at the ready, scanning the street for any danger. "Nail, can you hear me bud? I'm outside again. I'm thinking, with that bots active cameo, it might be wise to just try to avoid that thing until Era returns. The ship's sensors might be able to pick it so we'll know where it is." Amiroo heard the distant sounds of battle from Alpha and Rampage's battle, they were a ways off now. "you keep the kid safe, I'll try to keep that machine busy until Era and the others get back." Amiroo turned and ran down the street turned a corner, bringing him face to face with the entrance of the alleyway they'd come ran down earlier. Amiroo lowered himself closer to the ground and crept forwards, keep an eye out for any signs of an invisible foe disturbing the environment. |

RE: Chaos Within
Alpha's tactic worked perfectly, as the surprise strike to his torso stopped Rampage in his tracks and pushed him back enough to allow Alpha to get back to his feet before he could recover.
"Oh don't you worry none. I know exactly what to do with these." Rampage smirked in that creepy, half-frozen way due to half his face being locked in a rigid metallic state. Rampage stepped back into the fight once more, less heedlessly this time as he'd quickly learned that Alpha's reflexes could match his powerful strikes. That meant it was time to change tactics. Rampage kept his fists up like a trained boxer, hoping a bit on his toes as he started to circle his opponent. Carefully he watched his mark as he threw in a few quick jabs, testing Alpha's defenses. He would repeat this tactic a few more times, never quite throwing all his force or energy into the attacks. By the forth time, Rampage suddenly changed tactics altogether by kicking low at Alpha's shins, followed by a quick jab to the face and a wild hay-maker from his metallic right arm. As Alpha was soon too learn, all that jabbing was less about testing his opponents defenses and more about drawing him into a predictable pattern and then suddenly throwing his defenses off completely by changing that pattern. Meanwhile... Though the Com-bot's heavy sword was tough and durable, it couldn't withstand the concentrated, point-blank assault launched against whilst imbedded in the cinder block wall. The sword began to buckle under the weight of fire, then finally shatter as Beta attempted to pull the sword out of the wall. Beta staggered back, observing that only a fifth of it's once imposing blade was still attached to it's arm. "Damage assessment: Weapon offline. Initiating strategic reassessment. Nail would hear what might pass as bacon sizzling on a skillet or a rush of wind from around the corner. If he should look, the bot seemed to have vanished into thin air once again. No immediate attack also followed. It would appear that Nail and the others might have a moment of breathing room. |

RE: Chaos Within
[Echo, I didn't say the door was broken open yet. Also, during a fight scene, you're only allowed to do two actions. Your post should also only cover several seconds of time. Echo rushed through that building way too quickly, especially considering he would have no way to know the layout of it. However, it'd be too much trouble to go back and redo our posts, so please keep this in mind for future posts.]
Nail allowed himself a small grin when he heard the sword snap into pieces. However, he figured this was just the opening stages of the fight. Since they couldn't take the bot head on, they would need to keep wearing him down gradually with hit and run attacks. Nail turned around at Amiroo's voice, just long enough to catch the small earpiece in his hand. In spite of the situation, he found it remarkable how quickly the dinosaurs developed something that would fit his own ear. In any case, he quickly put it on. It looked like Gail had finished his work on the doorway too. "Nice work! Didn't think you'd do it that fast!" he said to the wolf, before rushing past and inside the building. "Come on! That thing's gonna be mad!" The two found themselves standing in a small room that looked like it used to be a storage backroom of some kind. Musty old racks lined the walls, with their original contents long since gone. Amiroo said something else over his radio, but Nail was too busy formulating his next actions to pay attention. Nail immediately spotted the next doorway and waved for Gail to follow. He silently pointed for Gail to take up position on one side of the doorway, while Nail stood on the other side. Both levelled their guns at the exit door they'd just come through. "He can turn invisible. Listen and watch closely. He'll give himself away somehow." |

RE: Chaos Within
"I didn't think so either!" Gail said when Nail complimented him on getting the door open fast. "The wood must've been rotten or--"
"Come on! That thing's gonna be mad!" Gail inhaled sharply. He'd completely forgotten for a second there. Without another thought he hurried after the fox, inside the building. They rushed to the next door, with each taking up position behind the open doorway. Gail still wanted to keep running, but he'd come to trust this mysterious newcomer whoever he was. So he decided he would do what he said. "He can turn invisible. Listen and watch closely. He'll give himself away somehow." Gail pointed his gun at the open door, waiting for the robot to appear again. Although he wasn't exactly sure what to look at. Like some kind of silhouette? "Wait...I have an idea." Since this was a post-apocalyptic town after all, this entire building was filthy and full of dust and dirt. Gail picked up a big clump of dust on the ground, and threw it towards the doorway. Now the dust particles floated through the air, as they slowly floated back down to the ground. If the bot moved through the dust, then they would notice disruptions in the dust's pattern. Plus it would leave footprints in the dust on the floor. Not much better than the naked eye but it would sure help. |

RE: Chaos Within
The few light jabs were easy enough for Omega to avoid, but just like Rampage wanted, the fourth assault caught him completely off guard, and the chain of blows resulted in him being laid out on the ground pretty hard. That robotic arm was just too much, jarring his teeth and making his head spin, both literally and figuratively. The cyborg had more tricks than Omega thought, and the strength behind them was overwhelming.
So, rather than get up, and announce that he was in some kind of fighting shape, it would be tricks versus trick. The hedgehog lay still on the ground, keeping his breath shallow, and not moving from the spot he landed. With any luck, the badger would be open enough to be knocked down, or turn his back, though with his attitude, more attacks were the most likely option. |

RE: Chaos Within
Amiroo simply waited at the entrance of the alleyway, he'd picked up a vehicles side
view mirror that had been lying on the ground to peer around the corner without exposing himself. He was taking special care not to reflect any light sources so he didn't give away his position. He didn't see anything, but he held still all the same. He knew if he waited, the invisible foe would give away it's position one way or another. No active camouflage was perfect and could be defeated if one knew what to look for. "Amiroo..Amiroo are you there?" A voice rang out over his radio, Nail would be able to hear this exchange as well seeing as their on the same channel. "yeah, I'm here" "Oh thank goodness your alright Am. Look, we've planted the transmitter and we're inbound to pick you guys up. We'll be there in eleven minutes." "Eleven minutes!? Why so long?" "we have to be sure we don't draw the notice of that other ship approaching. We can't come directly to you unfortunately." "How long until that ship arrives?" "Rog says it could be any minute sweet heart. They should already be in orbit around the planet by now and have had time to mobilize they're forces for the drop. We need to be getting out of here as soon as possible." "How long will the city be under siege before we can port up onto that ship?" "I don't know sweetheart, maybe a few hours." "*sigh, we're cutting this close. We screw this up and the whole planet is toast, no pressure right?" "Eleven minutes Am" |

RE: Chaos Within
Rampage's one-sided grin was as telling, and as creepy looking as ever as Rampage saw Alpha collapse to the ground. Frankly, it was almost too easy. Best fight he's had in some time, certainly, but still too easy.
"Heh, not too bad boy. You ALMOST made this a challenge." Rampage gloated as he slowly stepped up beside Alpha's fallen body. He knelt down beside him and with a flash of metal, extended those wickedly sharp metal claws from his robotic arm. He reached down, intent on wrapping his clawed fingers around Alpha's head and squeezing his head and tearing it apart like a melon at the same time. "Oh well, maybe after I kill you, it'll get those Freedom Fighter friends of yours so ticked off they'll come looking for revenge. Then I'll kill them too." He sighed, as he prepared to put the squeeze on Alpha. Meanwhile, Beta stood in the alley way, only the faintest of shimmer would give away it's presence. Tactical Assessment Complete. Targets have retreated into enclosed space. Primary melee weapon offline. Primary canon unwieldy in close quaters combat. Probability of close quarters combat: 95%. Conclusion: Problematic. Solution: Unconventional warfare! Beta turned towards the building the targets had retreated into. Sadly, it's optic's sweet lacked any kind of penetrative scanning system, otherwise it could immediately know where it's targets had gone. But, that would hardly matter anyway for what it planned on doing. From the end of the alley, Am would briefly see Beta's cloak drop. Right before it took a couple steps back and literally slammed itself into the wall of the building, busting a gaping hole right through the wall. On the inside of the building, dust and chunks of wall would come flying past the doorway Nail and Gail were situated at. Beta had easily smashed through the entire wall and now stood in the room where they'd first entered. |

RE: Chaos Within
Nail kept his gun leveled at the door out into the street. But as the seconds ticked past and nothing happened, the adrenaline edge started to leave. What replaced it was a feeling of dread, as Nail fearfully pondered why they weren't getting attacked just yet. What if that bot was calling for help? Or what if he was planning to flank them?
In any case, Amiroo said over the radio that it would probably be better to just run from the bot until they got backup from the ship. After taking shots from this futuristic coil gun to the face with no damage, Nail was inclined to agree. He looked at the young wolf standing on the other side of the doorway. Motioning silently with his hands, he waved for the kid to follow him. Nail would slowly back away from the open door down the hallway, always keeping his weapon trained on it. Then the combot smashed right through the freaking wall, sending an already jumpy Nail running the opposite direction down the hallway into a full on sprint. He quickly dived into the first open doorway he could see, praying that there was a second exit out through the room he entered. |

RE: Chaos Within
Gail too focused his pistol on the doorway, never once letting it waver. Then for some reason the fox waved for him to follow. Not knowing the reason why and being battle inexperienced, the wolf decided to follow his lead. He walked backwards next to Nail, with both of them keeping their weapons focused on the doorway they'd just sought cover at.
The an entire wall of that room exploded inwards, the terrific noise causing Gail to wince and his ears to curve backwards. "Jeez lawezz!" he called out. But Nail was already running, diving into an open doorway to seek more cover. Again, Gail decided to follow after him. [I've got to say...it's difficult to roleplay an interior gunfight like this, considering we need to keep a running mental picture of the interior of a building. I'm hoping this doesn't drag things down too much.] |
