Chaos Within

[Rampage]

Rampage's eyes narrowed and a wicked grin spread across the organic side of his face. "Innocent? Pah. They came out here looking for a fight. I just gave it to 'em" Rampage answered with his deep, reverberating voice.

As one of the civilians poked their head up and took a pot shot at Rampage, he quickly side-stepped out of the way, hefted his MALR one-handed and fired back at the offending civilian from the hip. Unlikely he would hit the fool, but a flash of laser fire would likely encourage him to stay out of this.

"Not my fault these folks can't hold their own." Rampage continued as if nothing had ever happened. All the while he continued stepping forward, slowly but surely closing the distance between him and Alpha. "You on the other hand... You might actually be a fun challenge... Maybe. But I've always found a gun fight to be less satisfying than a straight up fist-fight. So, how's about it. Think you can stand up to the Rampage?"

[Chadin]

Even over the rumbling shouts of the crowd, my ears perked up as I heard a faint, but unmistakable rumbling sound echoing through the city. Looking off to the east, I could make out a looming silhouette, one I'd become all too familiar with during the Battle of Solenna. The Egg Carrier... My mind reeled as I imagined what kind of devastation Robotnik would bring down on this city.

Suddenly, my mission to get all these people out became all that more important. "QUICK!! FOLLOW ME!!!" I shouted, waving at the crowd and then sprinting down the streets towards the Swat-pod Hangars.

[Technically, I know it would take longer than one post to get all the way back to the hangars, but I'm not really sure I, or anyone, really wants to go into great detail process of leading all these people back to the hangars. Does anyone have a problem with Chadin just reaching the hangars next post?]

[Jijeka-Te]

Ji took a breath as Gail picked her up, a little humiliated by her situation but not anxious to comment on it. Anu tagged along as well as he could.

[Alpha Omega]

Omega's face reflected nothing but anger as Rampage shot at another citizen of the city, especially after denying their innocence. "I've fought you before, and I'm not afraid to do it again."

He stood waiting for Rampage to come as close as he dared, which with how overconfident the badger seemed, would probably be within arm's length, before yanking his left hand free from its pocket, making a fist around the ring, and taking a swing at the organic side of the cyborg's head.

[Nail Strafer]

The crowd (including the freedom fighters) would feel wind blasting downwards, as if a helicopter had just breezed across the top of their heads. However, no helicopter could be seen passing over. Suddenly, a hatch opened in midair, exposing the inside of a ship on the other side. Two people jumped out, with one of them a raptor and the other a fox-looking canine. Both held rifles.

Amiroo and Nail immediately rushed to take cover behind an SUV near where Rampage and Alpha were fighting. Nail brought his gun up, but cursed when he saw Alpha in the way.

Meanwhile, anyone in the crowd who was near gazed up at the floating portal in amazement, wondering how such a thing could just suddenly be there in the middle of the street.

"Damn fool... I can't get a clear shot," Nail said, referring to Alpha. He turned towards Amiroo. "Let's not interrupt just yet. I want to see what they do first. We might get an opening if we wait."

[Gail Strafer]

[Ah...after years, father and son are finally in the same topic as each other Although the son is actually older than the father, because of the dimensional shattering, but oh well.]

"Whoa!"

Gail ducked down, as he felt the wind blasting down on the top of his head and back. Like everyone else in the crowd, he looked up but didn't see anything. He had no idea what was doing that. Whatever was up there though, it moved in the opposite direction of the crowd judging from the wind. Gail looked back in that direction. He observed a wave-like effect, as people ducked down when the invisible whatever passed over their heads.

His massive mouth fell right open, as he saw a door pop open in midair, and then two figures jumped out of it. And was it just his imagination or did he just see a dinosaur and a fox hop out? Whoever they were, they looked like they were headed towards the firefight in the other direction. Gail guessed that they weren't hostile. He found himself most curious to investigate, despite needing to leave.

"Anu..." he turned towards the insect. "Sorry to do this, but could you take Jii? I need to see what's happening. Alpha's back there too..."

In the meantime, he leaned down with Jii still in his arm and picked up her crook, handing it to her.

"I think this is yours too, Jii. I almost forgot about it."

[I guess if Jii wants to evacuate with Chadin she could do that, but it looks like everyone left in the topic wants to spend more time here. By the way, I'm passing over Robo this round. Just assume he's still on his way.]

[Echo]

Amiroo brought his rifle to the ready around the side of the SUV, waiting for an opportune shot if it presented itself.

"Gotcha."

Amiroo took quick glances around himself occasionally, looking for possible threats, escape routes, and cover. As he established his situational awareness, he noticed the looks he and Nail were getting. Through the crowds of people scurrying about, a spectrum of reactions to their presence seemed to have emerged, some stared in awe, others fear, some couldn't care less as they fled the scene.

"Ha! They act like they've never seen a Dinosaur before."

"Amiroo, can you hear me?" Era said, calling through his radio.

"I hear ya sweetheart."

"Good, you'll probably be on your own for 20 minutes to a half hour. Rog thinks he can get the rig set up in just a few minutes with SOLIS' help."

"Good, that's good. Listen, I want you to do something for me. While the guys are setting up that transmitter, I want you to establish multiple pickup points. Robotnik is about to spill all over this place like pancake syrup, this location may not be feasible for a pick up. DO NOT attempt a pickup with a battle going on here. Can you do that for me?"

"Sure thing, I'll make note of some locations. You guys be careful."

"We'll do our best, we'll see you after the fireworks. I love you sweetheart"

"I love you to Amiroo."

20 to 30 minutes didn't sound that long. But in the heat of combat, it's an eternity.

"Era says we'll be on our own for up to a half an hour. No matter what comes our way, we've gotta hold our own. But I think we can do that, I have faith in us." Amiroo said with a smirk, all the while never keeping his eyes off of what was going on around him.

[Rampage]

Rampage slung his MALR rifle over his shoulders, as he saw Alpha prepare for a close-quarters fight. This is going to be good!! Rampage let out a feral roar as he charged at Alpha. But then just as he was about to strike, something else caught his eye taking place just past Alpha. That same bizarre wind had cropped up again, but this time, two people hopped out of what could best be described as a doorway to nothing.

Unfortunately, that's about as good a look as he got before his momentary distraction allowed Alpha's fist to land a solid hit on his cheek. The force of the blow actually managed to send Rampage cart-wheeling head over toe about a foot, landing close to Alpha's feet.

Spitting out a bit of bile and a chipped tooth, Rampage cast another glance over at the turned over SUV where he could see a fox and a... dinosaur...? glancing around the vehicle waiting for a clean shot.

"Com-bot Beta, on station. Standing by." Came the distinctive robotic voice in Rampage's ear.

Ahh, perfect timing, Beta. Well, if they want a piece of the action, they'll just have to wait their turn.

"Beta. New targets at overturned SUV West of my position. Search and Destroy." Rampage called out into his radio as he rolled away from Alpha so that he could stand.

A brief silence followed... and then a Swat-pod roared overhead, barely 10 feet off the ground. It flew straight over Nail and Amiroo's cover but made no attack of it's own. In fact, in kept on flying over their heads until the pod slammed into a wall down the street and exploded. But against that fiery explosive back drop, a huge, imposing mechanoid slammed into the ground, cracking the pavement underneath the force of it's weight and landing. The machine, vaguely humanoid in shape rose up off it's one knee, a menacing red glow in it's two narrow slitted eyes. The entire machine was painted in a forest green camouflage scheme, immediately setting it apart from the dull grey Swat-bots lying about on the ground. It stood nearly two metres tall all on it's own, with large spiky projections around it's shoulders, making this machine look every bit like a machine built only for one purpose: Killing

"Objective confirmed. Search and destroy. Targets locked. Arming primary cannon." Beta stated aloud with it's cold, electronically distorted voice as a large, multi-barrelled cannon emerged from the Com-bot's right arm and began to spin up.

"Now, where were we?" Rampage asked with a sinister smile after watching Beta's dramatic entrance.

[Chadin]

Thought the reaction of the large crowd was slow at first, once some of the people began to follow after Chadin, it soon became a steady stream of bodies as the streets became choked with civilians.

Chadin really didn't know if his plan would work, but he had no other choice but to try. If not, there would be more blood on his hands than just his own.

[Moving to... Swat-Pod Refueling Hangar]

Anu took Ji without thinking, and Ji took her crook when it was offered.

(Ji) "Thank you... I was looking for that."
(Anu) "Let's go, Your Highness."

The two of them quickly joined the crowd pursuing Chadin.
