Chaos Within

[Chadin]

"WHOA!!" I yelped as I grabbed hold of the railing to catch my balance after the creature slammed into the wall beside me and shook the whole building. Unfortunately, that still wasn't enough as the shaking knocked me onto my butt.

Claws flashed by my head, one of which catching my forehead and cutting a bloody swath across my brow. Another claw took a healthy chunk out of my left ear. Mercifully the cut wasn't deep, but it stuck plenty well enough to give me cause to back away from that thing as fast as my hooves could scuttle my way across the metal deck. Blood flowed down my face, and the blood stung my eyes, making it more difficult to see clearly. I kept backing up until my shoulders hit the railing on the far side of the fire escape. I pressed myself up against the railing tight, trying to keep as much distance between me and those razor sharp claws as possible.

[Jijeka-Te]

Anu could do little but take cover with Gail's body while the bird-creature attacked Chadin.

Looking up at them, Ji gasped. She took a running start and leapt into the air, intending to intercept Chadin's attacker.

[Espio]

(Egads. Between my emergency doctor visit and funeral I went to last week I knew I forgot something...give me a few hours after I get off my shift )

[Espio]

"....Don't mention it.", the ninja simply said as he gave Alpha a pat on the back. In reality he was attempting to sneak his newly acquired shared into one of Alpha's pockets. No better way to sneak a shard under the radar than with an unexpected carrier and and better yet one who doesn't know he has it. "We won't be here much longer.", he said as the airborne dragon crashed into the building the others were on. "I suggest that if your going to salvage a weapon, do so now or at least bring some parts out of here with you. When things get too hot to handle, we make our escape to the hangar. Keep an eye out for my hand signals.", he said as he rushed off, up the building to face the dragon. Mammoth's greed would give them a few moments to regroup, attempt to gather a share or two then split.

[Alpha Omega]

Omega nods, and watches Espio run off. Since the bloblets were dispatched, he decides to take Espios advice, and begin salvaging what items could be used as weapons, and what could be made into weapons, as well as anything to help the others.

[Dr. Robotnik]

[Heeeeeeere's Robo! Did you miss me? <3]

As the bird creatures tried to flee Mammoth, several of them snapped backwards as if they'd suddenly been force-grabbed around the throat. Mammoth's power did the trick, as it started reeling them back in. However, if he were too focused on capturing the birds, he might miss a loud humming sound coming from behind.

A whooshing sound filled the air behind the large Mobian, as it suddenly got extremely hot. Flames swiftly flowed down the street behind him, seeking to engulf him. Behind the flames, Robo sat in a new aircraft of his own design. This ship looked similar to the flamethrower ship Robo had used to attack Chadin back in the Angel Island raid. However, this one had a much sturdier canopy with smaller windows. Apparently Robo realized having an all-glass canopy was a bad idea from his last fight.

"I'm going to have some roast elephant legs tonight!" Robo guffawed, as he waited for the flames to cook Mammoth right up.

[Rampage can pick his own attack craft if he wants.]

Meanwhile, Chadin got a reprieve as the creature spied Jii approaching. It shrieked loudly, announcing its intentions to attack the two. Like a bat, the monster quickly detached from the building and flew directly at Jii, aiming its claws to grab her.

[Gail Strafer]

"Hey...Anu..." Gail mumbled. The wolf wriggled around in the beetle's grasp. "Let me stand. I think I'm ready to get back in the fight."

He sure didn't look it. While he looked less fatigued from getting a chance to rest, he would wobble to a stand after being allowed to get up on his own two feet. Gail winced as he felt the deep cut on his arm tear a bit from the limb flexing. Plus he still didn't look like he was quite over the blood loss. After all, blood did take a fairly good amount of time to regenerate after so much loss. Regardless, Gail's eyes seemed to have some new life in them.

"I gots'ta show everyone I'm not dead weight. I wanna go back up there and show it!"

Unfortunately for Espio, Robotnik wasn't the only one to make a grand re-entrance into the battle. Seemingly out of nowhere, a familiar looking egg pod dropped out of the sky. Like any other of Robotnik's personal fighting machines it was built around the standard egg pod hull. This particular version would be familiar to Espio in particular if he'd ever spoken to Sonic or Knuckles about the battle they fought against Robotnik on the platform beneath the Death Egg during his first and failed attempt to launch the Death Egg from the Launch Base Zone.

The machine sported an array of large golden spike over the top and backside of the dome glass cockpit. A pair of thrusters added to the ships overall speed. But the machine's most imposing features were it's two massive arms jutting out from it's side with two, equally massive fists.

Unlike Robotnik, Rampage didn't spare his breath going in for his first strike, intent on capitalizing on surprise first and foremost. The vehicle plummeted out of the dark cloud cover over head, aimed straight for Espio as he ascended the building with the intent of catching the chameleon in his two enormous fists.

[Mammoth Mogul]

While Mogul may have been preoccupied with trying to restrain the escaping bird creatures, his heightened senses were still fully alert and he picked up the strange sound. Sensing danger, Mogul turned his head just enough to realize a wall of flame was headed his way. His eyes bulged in alarm and immediately released his grip on the creatures. He simply could not split his attention and powers well enough to handle very different tasks at once. He spun around and brought up both hands, extending his glowing green barriers in front of him as he crouched down to prevent any burning fuel from slipping under his feet.

While the barriers blocked the majority of the flames, as is the habit of fire, the flames wrapped back around on the obstruction, lighting the sleeves of Mogul's suit on fire and searing his fur and flesh. Mogul cringed in pain, but pushed through the pain. His thick mammoth hide did offer some protection, more than your average mobian, but not much.

As soon as the flames subsided, Mogul dropped his barrier and tore the burning sleeves of his suit off and patted down his burning fur. Mogul stared venomous daggers at Robotnik and his latest toy.

"That suit cost me a few thousand rings, Doctor. I'll be sure to exact compensation by taking my pound of flesh." Mogul said, his voice dripping with dire threat.

I sat there, nearly hyperventilating even after the creature turned it's attention to Jii. My heart was pounding so hard I had no difficulty hearing pounding away in my ears. The blood still pouring down my face made it especially difficult to see out of my left eye, but for the moment, my thinking brain had all but shut down after such a close call.
