RE: Egg Fleet Retreat
Quote:"Secondly, and I think I can speak for everyone else here. We all don't like your attitude. That's why I'm yelling at you instead of Tatsu. Tatsu may be frightening," he made a quick aside to the demon. "No offense." “None taken.” Tatus quickly piped up, before Robotnik would continue his sentence. Afterwards, even as Rampage was insulting him. Or at least trying too. Once again, Tatsu didn’t seem to care that much as to what Rampage was saying. At this point, he was itching to do something. But even so his leg…It was a complete lucky chance that the wolf managed to hit him dead on his inury. Who was to say that it couldn’t happen a third time? He was useless without even one of his legs. But even so, he supposed he’d rather take the chance again than sit around doing nothing. He stood up, after staying in the squatting position for so long. He’d been feeling a tinge of pain from his leg, and felt it even more now that he stood up. “And what are we supposed to do, doctor? I know that the deer has a shard on him; I sensed it when I was fighting on the beach. Would have gotten it if it wasn’t for this stupid leg.” He growled near the last sentence as he looked down at the injuried knee. |

RE: Egg Fleet Retreat
Quote:"So how's about this, you show some respect for my abilities, 'n I'll lay out the attitude a bit. Deal?" For the first time in the conversation, Rampage actually appeared to be genuinely honest; not sarcastic or condescending at all. The doctor seemed to mull it over a little bit. He'd need to think of a way he could let Rampage show off without putting too much risk out there, but something would come to him no doubt before long. Smiling, he said "Okay, deal. As soon as I have solid plans for the shards, I'll think of something you can do for me." He listened to the comments from Snively and Tatsu. "Maybe sending monsters after them isn't such a good idea after all. But it's only my first one. Maybe we can make some sort of super death beam powered by them. I don't know. I need to think about it. And we will need to do something about Chadin's shard. Perhaps we could be subtle about that one. Instead of trying to take it by brute force we just find out where he's staying and maybe Tatsu could sneak in and steal it while he and his friends are asleep." Quote:"Oh... and just as an act of good faith, let me give you a little free advice. Keep a close eye on Shiv-nose over there. He's a schemer that one. Matter of fact, I seem to recall where I came from he offered me the chance to join him on his latest plan to stab you in the back before the merge. If he's anything like the one I knew, I wouldn't trust him any farther then me." "Really?" the doctor turned his eyes to Snively. However, instead of his gaze being accusatory, it looked more like mere curiosity. He spoke to Rampage while still looking at Snively. "So...mind enlightening me more on this back-stabbing plot?" The corner of the doctor's mouth tugged upwards into a smile. Again, it didn't look accusatory but more as if he were making small talk. |

RE: Egg Fleet Retreat
The look on Snively’s face read “I am not amused”. Not in the sense in fear of being caught, but more like he couldn’t believe he’d even do that. He didn’t see any point in being afraid at an accusation. Even if there was –proof- he wasn’t the same person. He wouldn’t have trusted the badger with such a plot anyways. To Snively, there was nothing to fear. He wasn’t that stupid-
“Oh really?” Rose began somewhat slyly, as she glanced at Snively. He glanced at her with a confused look. He wasn’t sure what she was getting at, looking at him that way. But he shook it off and held a composed expression. While Rose didn’t leave the Doctor’s side, she did step a few steps forward. It seemed like she was finally interested in what the badger had to say. She gained a more playful composure; though it didn’t seem very sinister. Her words though, where another matter. “Yes, so how was Colin dear trying to take uncle’s empire under his feet? It wouldn’t have having to do with a girlfriend, hmm?” Snively’s reactions where mixed. On one hand, he just rolled his eyes at the accusation. But when her second sentence came around he blinked and did a small double take. He was looking at her questionable again. |

RE: Egg Fleet Retreat
[ I suppose after Rampage talks about Snively’s plot or decided to tell it later it should be time to go to another topic. I’ve been waiting for the Doc to switch it. ]
While he was quite aware of Rampage’s suspicious behavior, when he brought up Snively’s it caused Tatsu to take some concern. He glared at Snively closely, looking as though he’d given him the glare of doom as he tried to read any signs of fear. While admiringly Snively stayed cool, he noticed how he appeared to be fazed by Rose’s statement. He’d continue to keep a close eye on him during the rest of the conversation. |

RE: Egg Fleet Retreat
[Whoops, sorry guys, kind of forgot about this thread.]
"HA! Hardly. No, thankfully the world I came from was mercifully lacking in you." Rampage laughed loudly at Rose's comment about a girlfriend. "In fact, I seem to recall most if not all of the humans were either killed or Robotized." "In any event, the Snively from where I came from planned on reprogramming all the Swat-bots in Robotropolis to obey him exclusively while the Doc was out personally taking care of some Freedom Fighter group across the continent. He wanted me to foul up his operations enough to stall his return as long as possible to give him time to reprogram as many bots as he could. Then he'd open up on him with every available AA gun and destroy his fleet and take over. Of course, after I headed out to link up with his fleet, that's when the merge happened." It was somewhat gratifying to see everyone taking him a bit more seriously. So long as the kept placating his ego, Rampage felt he could loosen up a bit and lay off a little more. |

RE: Egg Fleet Retreat
Robotnik appeared to take some small delight in making Snively feel uncomfortable, although one might get the impression he was only doing it in jest from the amused look on his face. Even as Rampage rattled off the story, Robotnik's expression didn't appear to change. The doctor listened to it as if Rampage were merely going over some sort of battle plan for their next operation.
"Well, Rampage, that's a very interesting story," the doctor said, turning back to face him. He held no accusatory tune at all. "I will take it under advisement." He decided he'd just take it with a grain of salt, since he thought Rampage might just be looking out for number one here. This Snively seemed much more meek to him, and even Rose seemed to have him under control. The doctor's initial impression was that Snively was no master betrayer. But he supposed it couldn't hurt to get him under surveillance once back in the city. Speaking of which... The doctor glanced out the window and saw the familiar, beautiful dark smog and smokestacks that marked his home. "Ah! We appeared to have made it back now!" [To Robotropolis] |
