The Road to Pittsdam

[Cornelius]

“Well at least someone’s civil for once!” Cornelius exclaimed as he threw both of his hands up in the air. “Halijuah!”

Topaz rolled her eyes. To be honest he could feel some nervousness from the bat, but the fact that he was actually being nice was a little new since he’d been around. He could at least respect Twilight for that.

“You wouldn’t happen to know what going on, would you?” The woman asked a little sternly as she looked over towards Twilight.

Nelius placed his left arms right behind his back, stretching it as his elbow faced up. His right didn’t follow, just hanging there awaiting its turn. “Probably not. Most of these people don’t know what’s going on.”

[Twilight]

The wolfbat gave Cornelius a half smile. His somewhat annoying temperment was a bit humorous. He glanced over at Topaz upon hearing her question and gave her a nod.

""Just the basic things I heard from rumors ma'am. Something about interdimensional emeralds." He replied.

[Cornelius]

She let out a high, closing her eyes while she brought her hand up to her face. “ Great.” She started, as she slid her had off slowly. “Not saying it’s your fault or anything. I just wish I knew what was going on.”

He could have said ‘told you so’, but felt it a little inappropriate. Plus there were other things to be concerned about than what’s happened.

“Well there’s no point in mopping about it.” He replied, now stretching his right arm. “ Maybe the town knows something. Maybe it doesn’t. But the least we can do is find out if there’s any major cities still around…”

[Twilight]

The crossbreed raised an eyebrow at her. Altough he didn't necessarily show it, he wanted to know what was going on as much as she did.

"I would imagine so. Whatevers going on hais effected me greatly and Ima get to the bottom of it." He said with slight determination in his voice. Cornelius' suggestion brought some uneasiness onto him. The last place be wanted to be was a populated area. However, he still wanted to get some info and he had plenty of time before sunset.

"You guys don't mind if I tag along, do you?" He asked tilting his head to the side.

[Cornelius]

“Strength in numbers.” Nelius replied simply. He didn’t seem to regard what The woman thought. Not to say that she didn’t really mind. Really, if there had been any rejection it would be having him around and not Twilight. Even though she hadn’t really saw him do anything bad yet there was a lingering feeling in the pit of her stomach that still didn’t trust him. She felt like she had to keep a good eye on him.

“…Yes, it’d be better if we all travel together than any of us going our separate ways. We can do that anytime we find stable civilization.”

“-IF we do you mean.”

After having the last word, Nelius fell to the ground by his own will. But instead of just crashing to the ground, he put his arms out in front of them. Once his hands reached the ground, he brought his body up, doing a hand stand; and a stable one at that. Topaz blinked, looking at him strangely.

“…What…are you doing?” She asked dully.

“What? A man can’t walk to town on his hand? Backwards?” he replied, sounding a little offended. “Do you realize what it’s like not being able to use your arms for a week?! Who knows how much you’ve sent me behind just because of that! So I have to start back up and quickly. Why use my legs when I have perfectly good arms?”

[Terrador Bellator]

A friendly smile fixed on Twilight's muzzle. He was glad to have companions to travel with. 'Nelius was amusing so long as the jokes weren't directed at him. He snickered slightly as the man walked ln his hands and was also suprised a man of his height could balance so well. His expression quickly shifted to nervousness as he hoped he would be nowhere near anyone at sunset. He had to tell them something.

"Just a heads up, I will part ways with you guys when it begins to get dark. It wohld be better if I don't explain." He poined out.

[Cornelius]

“Why-”

“-Don’t ask.”

Topaz placed her clenched her fists on her hips, looking down on Cornelius’s face.

“Why not?”

“I don’t know, maybe because no one like’s a nosy sue.” He stated. “Now less talk, more walking. I could say ‘we haven’t got all day’, but I figure ‘We shouldn’t waste time’ would fit better to our situation. Onward!”

As he said ‘onward’ he pointed his leg and foot towards the town ahead. And without seeing what anyone else would have to say, he started walking on his two hands; backwards. Topaz simply didn’t know what to think of this.

“You have got to being kidding me.” She looked over towards Twilight, pointing her thumb towards Cornelius. “Is he for real?”

The last question wasn’t really serious. It was just a reaction, must like the first.

Twilight was glad he didn't have to explain. It would have taken too long to explain anyhow. He agreed with Cornelius, he needed to get into town quickly.

"I guess so." He replied to Topaz with a shrug. And with that, he followed the hand-walker.

[Tutley Sakamoto]

It had been roughly a week and a half since the turtle had arrived back on Earth, or at least figured it was Earth since he couldn't confirm it. The dense canopy of the part of the great forest from where he emerged was tampering with his laptop's ability to obtain an internet signal. Deciding to work his way out of the forest by going north, he and his chao worked day by day to make a little progress further out from the forest. Eventually the trees gave way, and he even found a road to follow soon after. He had yet to encounter intelligent life yet aside from the occosional woodland creature, and that worried him.

He would be speeding down the dirt road on his extreme gear, arms spread out with his chao riding on his right shoulder. He rode with his right leg in front of the other for balance, making small adjustments every now and then. The gear kicked up a small cloud of dust behind them as they traveled. He assumed the road might lead to other life, and in turn a spot where he can use his laptop to find out just what happened since his days in the "lost zone" as he dubbed it.

Much to his delight, he would see a small group on the path ahead, his chao perking up, his antenna reshaping into an exclaiation mark. "Guess we arn't the only ones here after all!", he exclaimed to his chao. pushing down on a footpad as he sped past the group. The gear began to rapidly fold up, straps affixing to the turtle's back. He leapt into the air, coming down a meter or two away from the group, his gear changed into the form of a backpack. He would take a moment to dust himself off, chao floating free of his shoulder. It stared curiously at the group, namely the fellow performing a headstand. "Hey!", the turtle called out, "I know we've only just met, but I need to know something from you...am I on Earth?", the turtle would ask blatently, scratching the back of his head.

[Cornelius]

Cornelius blinked as he saw the incoming turtle coming up the road. He seemed a little dazed, but figured it was just the blood rushing to his head. He stopped in place, adjusting himself before pointing his right arm out, pointing towards him.

“Hey, there’s a turtle coming up behind you.”

“What?” Topaz replied, as she looked behind her. Just as she’d turned, Tutley had landed, and just asked his question. “ What? Well…umm…”

“ I’d say ‘no’ considering all the weird sights we’ve seen.” Nelius replied, still doing his handstand.
