RE: The Road to Pittsdam
[Again, apolgies for the delay, life took a overall small turn in the wrong direction. >.> ]
With a relieved sigh, he poked his head back out from his shell as Nel; entered the base with the skunk. He turned back round torwards Syhrus as his other limbs popped out one at a time. "Okay, loops good for another two minutes.", he said as he sprung to his feet. "We move in, avoid the spotlights and find an alternate way in. We COULD try the door they just came through but there's no telling if the scounting group would be coming thay way. I say we try...", he trailed off as he pointed to a smaller, closed off section of the base to the east. "That door.", he said as he made a run for the gate, making a "follow me!" motion with his hammer in his right hand. ------------------------------------------------ "Good thing you let us know they were coming.", the skunk exclaimed as he walked down the entryway. It lead on about twenty feet to a small, vacant lobby, a water founten in the middle of the room. Considering the kind of thungs they had delt with before, and the clean, white hospitial like lobby, something would likely feel out of place. "We're a bit...shorthanded around here and if one of them snuck in...", he said ironically, traling off. The lobby had three doors. One room directly ahead, behind an automated checkpoint, and two doors off to either side. Everyone's favorite hyperactive turtle from the future! RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Cornelius took a good look around the place as they walked in. Surely, this military base wasn’t for the likes of gangsters. Hell, it was far to sterilely white for any normal person. He’d expect more of an abandoned warehouse, with brick walls and old posters that had been faded through the years just about to fall off the walls for a group of thugs. This…this place was just plain wrong.
But on the bright side, the place was fairly clear. Didn’t appear that anyone was around from view at least. And there was only one person who came in and even knew of the events outside. So he was going to take the opportunity to make sure the word didn’t get around. “Oh yeah?” He replied, as he walked up behind the skunk. Without a moment to lose, he swiftly brought down a hardened hand onto the skunk’s neck; were he instinctively knew where the main nerve was. His chop would most likely knock the poor animal off. And if he did somehow get caught, he knew how to handle the situation. ------- As Topaz entered the vehicle, she simply gave Tutley a nod. She’d been on plenty covert missions, so she knew how to handle this situation. Though it was a little strange, that she would be infiltrating a military base considering her background. But considering her infiltration of Dr. Eggman’s base, this wouldn’t be as difficult. Hopefully. She followed behind him, keeping her gun up the entire time; ready to react. |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Syhrus watched as Nel was brought down the hallway and into a... white room? He blinked, unsure of what he had just seen when the doors closed. 'Well, dang.' That was when Tutley got up and motioned for him to follow. He shrugged off what he had just seen and came to the gate where Tutley was waiting. When Topaz reached them, Syhrus said, "I'll head through first if that's okay with you two," and started off without waiting for an answer.
He slowly slid the gate open and went through, checking his peripherals for more guards. The first spotlight was no problem. He just waited for it to pass. The second, however, nearly blindsided him and he had to leap out of the way. From there, he scrambled on all fours to the opposite wall, picked himself up, dusted himself off and gave a thumbs up to his teammates. (Now I'm just assuming with the geography of the place, but it is a gated fence, then a spotlight-guarded courtyard of some sort, then the main building complex, correct? Or do I need to change this post?) |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
[Essentially, Syhus. Tutley's pointing to a building entrance a bit to the right of the main entrance. And sorry for the delay, turtle's looking for a new job. xD]
Tutley had little problems with someone else leading the way through the spotlights himself; he rather watch how someone else made it through before he gave it a go himself. With a shrug that just says "Lead the way.", he watches as Sy attempts to sneak past the sweeping spotlights. A close call or two but he made it through in about twenty seconds. The turtle gulped, it was his turn. Giving his backpack a pair of quick taps, his chao partner sprang out. He had a small monitor inside the pack to see the outside world while Tutley carried him about, so he had a fair idea what was going on. Tutley pointed cross the way to where Syhus was, the pair nodding to each other. Tutley gripped his hammer tightly as he broke into a sprint, as fast as his boots could carry him anyway. With T.J. following just behind his right shoulder, he corners around the first light. Only now the second was fast approaching. He froze to let the light pass by, his heart going a mile a minute. Watching someone move across a field of spotlights was one thing; doing it yourself knowing all hell would break loose if you tripped up was another. He kept going after the light passed by, just about there. Only the last spotlight was approaching; and he had nowhere to go with the other light reversing direction. With a quick moment of thought, he tossed his hammer in Syhus' direction and ducked into his shell. He quickly built up enough spin to launch forwards, flinging himself forwards at the last second. The chao clung tight to one of his backpack's straps, spinning around with him as he shot torwards the wall beside Syhus. Fortunatly the wall was solid enough for him to stop his forward momentum, the shell flipping over onto his back, as it comes to a stop beside Sy, still spinning about as the turtle performs what one could only refer to as a celebratory breakdance as he gets to his feet. The chao on the other hand wasnt as happy, spinning and stumbling around a stage or two past dizzy. ------------------------------------------------------------- "Yeah, that would be a disas-URK!", the skunk let out as he found a fist pressed right up against the back of his neck, immediatly crumpling to the floor. He would be out cold for a fair bit of time now. There were signs of an office behind the automated checkpoint; a spot to store the skunk away if he was to look. Footsteps would be heard coming from the doorway on the right, in the direction the others were attempting to enter from. Nel would have to think fast about what to do next. RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Nel looked down and shook his head as he looked at the skunk on the ground. And as he heard footsteps, Nel let out a sigh. Staying a cool as a cucumber, he picked the skunk up and lugged him over his shoulder. Instead of frantically trying to find a place to hid the body, he instead carried him along right over to the door on the right; where the footsteps where coming.
One might ask what kind of insane stunt he was trying to pull. To him, it was just a logical. With the Skunk still out, he opened the doors and peered down the hall. He didn’t know who to expect, but he remained calm the entire time. Holding up his empty hand, he waved towards the people coming down the hall. “Yo, I found this guy sleepin’ on the job. He’s out like the dead. What the hell am I supposed to do with ‘im.” -------------------------- Seeing these two try and get passed the lights was like watching a bunch of kids fumbling around. She face palmed as she say the hjinks that ensued. Topaz should have figured that they wouldn’t get through the lights smoothly. She must have been the only one with any kind of secret service training around. As Tutely finally managed to get to safety, Topaz let out a sigh. Her time was finally up. Besides the face palm, she was studying the light’s pattern carefully. Usually when they weren’t manned, it meant that the lights ran on an automated system. And automated systems usually had some kind of a set pattern to them. So as she gave herself a few moments for the right opening, she made her move. Her dodging of the lights, was much more gracefully, and stresses than the other two bouts had. She just ran past the first one, as it just passed by the area. The second one was a little trickier though. It was coming towards her, but she jumped past the area that the light would run over; landing on her hands and then jumping quickly to her feet. Then the last one as she ran towards, she managed to dodge before the light could hit her by jumping to the side and darting over to the wall. As soon as she made it, she breathed in deep and was ready with her gun. |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Syhrus watched as Tutley passed through the spotlights. Sy worried a bit when the turtle got in a tight spot, but then he threw his hammer at Syhrus and did his little shell dash. Syhrus was only partially able to appreciate it, however, as the hammer caught him off guard; catching it knocked him back against the wall, though he did see the little spinning dance, and the dizzy little chao. “Nice moves, Tutley, and who is this little guy?” he said, while petting and trying to reorient T. J. with his right arm. Then Topaz came through with her mission impossible antics, Sy’s jaw dropped. “Okay, no offense Tutley. Your moves were nice, but THAT,” he said, pointing to Topaz, “was smooth. Glad you‘re on our side.”
“Okay, we’re practically in, now. Here’s where things get tricky. Separating, while making us more vulnerable, would make the most sense to avoid detection. I suggest we split up and find our own way to the objectives, set the charges, and meet back at the car, if possible. No mess, no stress. However, I’m not keen on being alone in a hostile environment and am open to alternative methods.” Syhrus checked through the door window, checking for any possible intel on the inside of this place. ‘Gosh I love this job sometimes,’ he thought, bringing the rifle to his hip. |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
As Tutley continued to spin on his backpack, he worked his way up to his feet disting himself off as Topaz joins them. "Pah..I wasnt built for such acrobatics anyway.", he said with a light grin. "All right, I can agree on that. But we'll split soon as we encounter branching paths. Me and Topaz will go one way, TJ can stick with you for a while.
"Speaking of, that's my partner. He's a chao, an artificial lifeform, and my familiar now given the last two accidents. Me and him are bound magically from the merge.", he pointed out as he slung his hammer over his right shoulder. T.J. slowly got his bearings straight, propping himself up on Syhrus' right shoulder peeking in through the window. It was empty at the moment, the door about a minutes walk away from Nel's entryway. ----------------------------------------------- "Well what in the world happened to em?", the grunts, a pair of twin brown porcupines asked in shock. Nels' gambit paid off with his calm demeanor. "Let's get him to the med lab...", they both said at the same time, opting to give Nel a hand in more ways than one. They were about to lead him back the way he came, deeper into the base... Everyone's favorite hyperactive turtle from the future! Current Shield Set: Blast, Fire, Water, Lightning, Light |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
He shrugged.
“ Beats me. I just found’um.” He followed behind him, not saying a word. They wouldn’t be able to tell, as it always seemed as though Nel was aggravated, but his face showed that he was more than just mildly annoyed. All of this had been easy, and he hated it. No challenge whatsoever, and Nel was all about challenge. If these idiots thought for even a second, his whole cover would be blown. How about asking a name? Or, I don’t know, asking what the gang’s name was? It’s not like -he- knew. But he supposed he could take the challenge of fighting the urge to knock these guys out right now. After all, why do damage here when you can do more there? ------------------------------------------
“It’s part of my job.” Topaz replied seriously. “We better move quickly. I’m already surprised that there haven’t been alarms from Nel getting in.” |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
"Artificial? Familiar? Magic? Well now, aren't you getting more interesting all the time," he said to the chao, stroking it under the chin. Looking into the hallway, Syhrus was surprised to find the same sterile, white walls inside. "So I wasn't imagining it," he said while opening the door, "quite the ritzy military installation you have here." "How much money do-" Syrhus was cut off by a loud buzzing from his right arm.
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTT! "SYHRUS!" a voice came from a screen appearing on Sy's arm. "Ohgeezohmanohgosh," Sy jumped at the sudden sound. "Oh, uhh, hey O'hara, how's things? Do you think you could stand to be just a tad bit quieter? "Oh that's a laugh, coming from you. I hear you've already taken a weapon from the arsenal! For crying out loud, boy! Minimal impact! Minimal impact. What part of these two little words can you not wrap your naive, bright-eyed little mind around!" O'hara retorted. "Listen, you! Two things. First, minimal impact is a flawed concept, we've been over this. Second, it's only a precaution while I help these guys out. Allies can be good yes? Hmm? Some informants and helpers while inside this foreign universe. Yeah?" Syhrus said with a little uppity-ness. "Great. You've made 'friends' again. Fine. Just go do your thing, then. You obviously ain't listening to me..." O'hara said, taking a drink from his glass of scotch, "Just DON'T blame me when it goes all pear-shaped!" and with that, the screen went blank. Syhrus sighed, "Sorry for that, guys. Grumpy CO," he said with a fake smile as they came to the door at the other end of the hall. |

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
[/color]It would be a few minutes of walking before Nel' is lead to a medical bay, looking a rather high tech er room from the looks of it. The other two would follow him inside as the doors hissed closed. The resident medical attendant, a slightly brused and beaten blue scaled gecko turned around with a frightened look. He wore a pair of framed square glasses, a simple white lab coat and shirt, and brown slacks with dress shoes, his clothing slightly dusty with a bit of wear and tear visable. It was pretty clear he actually WAS from the lab origonally.
"Hey..we need ya' to treat this guy.", one of the porcupined said pointing over at the groaning unconcious skunk. "V-very well...", he said quickly as he approached Nel'. "Hey..I don't remember you being with the group that came and took over the base...", he said with a perplexed look. "Definatly no humans among you.", he added as he put his foot in his mouth. The other two slowly turned their glances torwards Nel' with an enraged look, partly from their own stupidity the rest from realizing they were helping an intruder enter the base! --------------------------------- TJ purred a bit as it was scritched, displaying a heart from its antenna as it smiled happily, halo bobbing as Syhrus moved. "They make for pretty popular pets down here on Earth. Or at least my dimension." Meanwhile, Tutley slowly entered the hallway when... Syhus' comnunicator cut on, making the turtle jump up, turning in the direction of the noise sharply with his hammer drawn having thought an alarm was tripped. Much to his relief though, it was one of Syhrus' superiors. He wiped his brow, taking a relieved sigh as the chao broke into laughter. "Don't mention it. My own CO is quite the hothead too...and you don't want to get on her bad side...an enraged flicky is one of the last things you want to deal with since they can warp behind you when you least expect it.." Tutley looked ahead, eying a peculiar looking elevator at the end of the hallway, magical runes drawn across the double doors. His mind took a moment to register the pattern, a sharp sting of realization flooding into his mind. "I know where we are!", he said smashing his right hand into his left. "Some of us need to take that elevator NOW. Long story short, this is a research facility joint operated by G.U.N. and the time agents.", he began to explain. "It seems to have been cleared out after the merge and moved...but it's possible the underground facilities where the big weapon defense projects are kept is still intact. I don't think the gangsters have cracked the code or know of its existance yet, cause pittsdam would be leveled by now if they did.", he said bluntly. "I need to get down there and secure the lab ASAP.", he said moving for the elevator. "Whos coming with?", he asked as he tapped the call button. "I can probably locate the tank garage as well from the main interface down below as well." Everyone's favorite hyperactive turtle from the future!
