RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Syhrus looked at Tutley. "Nice tactical mind on ya, boy. You received any formal training for that?" he said with a smile, about to turn back to his rifle scope when he noticed Nel getting out of the car and heading away from them.

"Now where do you suppose he's going in such a hurry? Overly cautious or just running on us?"

While Syhrus had a distinct first impression on his other two comrades, this Nel made him wary. He didn't talk much, and when he did and from what Syhrus sensed of him it seemed to show a disdain or lethargy regarding the care of others, which rubbed Syhrus the wrong way.

He simply huffed and turned his attention back to the guard in his sights, waiting for further developments.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
"Formal training at the Stardusian Academy for Time Agents in tactics and recon!", he said proudly to Syhus as he watched Nel stroll off, presumably to get away from their position and approach the guards from elsewhere. "Also, your not much older than me.", he pointed out with a perplexed look.

While he waited for Nel to come back into view, he looked back at Topaz. "Planning on doing something with our ride when he pulls them away from the gates?", he asked her.

"And as for Nel'....from what I can tell he does his own thing and it tends to work out. Like in those rpgs where you get that guest character that doesn't conform to the plan but singlehandely takes down anything in his path.", he says with a laugh.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two guards continued to chat away as they kept a lookout for anyone suspicious. Sure enough, a figure in a bandana soon came into view out the corner of the badger's eyes. He kinda reminded him of one of those figures from a popular horror movie. The skunk on the other hand was rather oblivious to Nel's encroachment.

"You idiot!", the badger said as he turned the skunk's head forcefully in Nel's direction. "We've got company! Close the gate!", he said as he let the other guard go, keeping his weapon trained on Nel'. Other members of the gang were out right now, and this may well be one of them. He wouldn't shoot just yet. The mephit in the meantime pulled the main gate shut, the group having been unsucessful in figuring out how to close it with the control system. "All right...", the badger said toting his gun. "Who the hell are you?"

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Nel didn’t hesitate or even show any sign of concern when the gang members came out. If he showed them an inch of fear, everything would be ruined. Right now he had to count on his intimidation to make the bandits stop asking questions about him; and instead not to question him.

“Like HELL we got company!” he exclaimed loudly with aggravation in his voice. “Those guys who busted up ours are comin’ out to get us! Someone must’uve squealed- and it’s sure as hell not me!”

He was counting on the announcement to send the members into shock and forgot questioning him. The only thing he had going for him was his imitating size and personality. Hopefully, things would work out as planned.

----------------------------------------------------------------

“It looks like he’s starting…” Topaz said in a mutter. “I sure hope it’s not a bad idea to trust him with this…”

Despite the fact that Cornelius had been helpful, she couldn’t help but still distrust him. And while his voice was enough, his personality didn’t help matters either. She was in a similar thought process with Syrhus.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
"You have no idea," Syhrus said in response to Tutley, chuckling lightly. The chuckle immediately stopped, however, when he saw all the thugs practically go on alert.

He cursed under his breath. "Well, it seems our diversion was a little too potent for his own good. You got a contingency for this?" he said, not looking away from the sights for even a second.

'Dang, Nel is in trouble if things don't turn around, and quick!' Syhrus was not going to let someone get killed while he just watched, but these odds...

Cornelius gave his excuse to the guards. "Come onn... Buy it, you sons of... It's believable enough, isn't it?" Syrhus asked, not to anyone in particular, but an answer would be welcome.

'Screw it. Give me a reason, and I'll give you and your buddies some fresh new burn wounds to talk about,' he thought, bringing his finger to the trigger.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Tutley would take this moment to click on the controls for the camera feed loop, causing anyone watching the cameras to be shown last three or so minutes before Nel' showed up. A fairly quiet pair of beeps from his backpack would confirm that the loop sucessfully began. "Well...my recording loops up now. If all hell breaks loose we should be fine...as long as neither of them manages to raise an alarm.", he said as he inched a bit closer to the bushes. "Get ready to move!", he shouted as he drew his hammer.

------------------------------------

Meanwhile further ahead the pair was sizing Nel' up. The badger, clearly the superior of the two was notably caught off guard when he heard that the group from before was already on their way here. Nel's perfect timing, and voice acting completly duped the pair. "What? Their already on their way here?!", the skunk exclaimed as he readied his gun.

"How long till they get here? We gotta go radio the others!", the badger shouted, clearly worked up by Nel's warning. Fortunatly he didnt have a radio directly on him, but there was a guard tower just a few feet away...

------------------------------------

Tutley could tell by the waving of arms from the other two and the skunks increased alertness that something had gone arwy. "Frack, this isn't gonna work out! Sy, you gotta take down the badger! I'm sure Nel can get the hint and take down the skunk after your shot!", he said as he emerged from the bushes, still out of the line of sight from the gangsters who at the moment were focused on alerting the others inside the base to the potential presence of intruders.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
(OOC: Now hold on a second!)

Nel quickly pushed himself past the group and grabbed onto the Skunk’s shoulder.

I’LL Radio help; YOU get everyone else’s a$$ out there- NOW!” Nel pointed his arm out towards the forest that was opposite from them. “I heard they where going to come from that direction and try and sneak themselves in! Pff, obviously don’t know a damn thing about this place…”

He started going to the radio tower with a fast walk. Once again, he was hoping that the urgency and his overall-intimidation would cause the skunk to not ask him questions. He wasn’t in the best place for the crap to hit the fan. Too many guys had guns on them, and having a entire group with guns against himself with only his fists wasn’t a smart fighting condition.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
After bringing his finger to the trigger, Syhrus just froze, for only a couple of moments, but for him it seemed like minutes. He felt all the bare, unhidden, electrifying emotion in the air, intermingling with his own anxiety at the time.

There was confusion amongst the guards, letting Syhrus know he had a sec or two at least, but there was also a growing anxiousness and suspicion aimed at this stanger who had come yelling at them, and these feelings did not help his inner turmoil.

'Come on,' he thought to himself, 'you just said you could do it, just PULL THAT TRIGGER!' Yet his trigger finger wouldn't budge; then, the feelings of his colleagues came in, loud and clear. There was some worry, some fear, but it was drowned out by determination and focus on the task at hand, knowing they needed to do this. Then Syhrus heard Tutley's order, snapping Syhrus back to reality.

'This isn't like last time. You aren't using a projectile weapon, and you have allies at your side. Do your part, and no blood will be spilled this day.' Syhrus exhaled, and was about to pull the trigger when suddenly, the tension let up just a bit, he looked down his sight to see Nel's attempt to talk the guards down. "Well dang it, am I going to have to fire this thing or not?" he muttered to the air, disgruntled.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Seeing the situation was actually falling back under control, he quickly turned to Syhus, forming an X with his arms, waving his hands forwards twice, sending a silent prompt meaning, "DONT SHOOT, DONT SHOOT!!", with his eyes wide.

He then quickly falls on his side, retracting into his shell to blend in with nearby rocks and bushes, a pair of eyes blinking from inside the shell as he looks on torwards the gate. He nearly blew it...he let out a sigh. "I really have to learn to not get so wound up...", he mumbled to himself.

"Hah! I'll just help myself to that information and head them off myself! Imagine the rewards if I take care of em' first!", the badger says as he slings his gun over his shoulder, running off in wrong direction from the group, sure to waste several minutes looking for them. The skunk, with the badger gone gulped and pulled open the main gate, slipping through as he ran for the main compound to alert the others. This meant that in a short while a scouting party would be sent out to investigate, causing even more people to abandon the base.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
‘Yep, as stupid as I though…’ Cornelius thought to himself.

He followed the shunk through the base. Seeing as the idiots at the front guard weren’t going to question his authenticity, no one else would either. Unless he happened to run into one of the cowards that got away. He may have problems then. But for now, he’d get himself into the base early and clean up for the rest of the group. Or at least cause more of a distraction. He wasn’t going to lie, he liked having all of the attention for himself.

- -- ---

“I can’t believe that worked…” It was hard to tell if Topaz sounded relived or critical. Perhaps a little bit of both, as she had been expecting his aggressive behavior to start trouble. But perhaps she should be thankful that it didn’t. She got her gun out and loaded it.

“Alright, when do we move in?”

RE: The Road to Pittsdam
Now that his little episode was over and the guard situation was resolved, at least for the moment, Syhrus quickly calmed back down, assured that he wouldn't freeze up next time, even though it was fortuitous he had this time.

He walked over to the shell that was Tutley only a couple of moments ago and knocked on it. "Hey, Mr. Trained-in-tactics-and-recon, the guard post is clear now. Any ideas for our next move?" He said it jokingly, but not condescendingly. One never wants to put undue stress on the man with the plan, after all.

In the meantime, Syhrus took cover by the gate and peeked around to see if he could get a better appraisal of the inside of the base as they brought Nel in.
