RE: Roval Arms
Giichi just blinked when Am asked about what their story was. But inside his head was swimming. He honestly wasn't sure what to say to that. And then he remembered the original reason he'd asked Terrador to come to this place with him. Mentally he slapped his head. With everything that had happened so far since making it into this place, he'd totally forgotten.
"We WERE taking a tour of the building. Lots of fascinating murals and frescoes in this building. I wanted to show my friend Terrador here the art. Then we heard a commotion downstairs...and..." The cat sorta faintly waved his hand towards Bruce, "...saved him." Giichi raised his eyebrows a couple times as Bruce looked faintly confused. Then Bruce had an a-ha moment and realized he was supposed to play along with the story. "Yeah...that's right. I owed these guys money, and they couldn't wait for me to pay it back." Now Giichi nodded towards Terrador for him to go with the story too. |

RE: Roval Arms
Terrador pondered breifly on Am's talk of magic.
"To an extent, yes, altough I do not prefer to call it magic." He replied. Giichi then began to explain their breif history here. With all the insanity that had occured, he had almost forgot. Meeting the dog lady, Lizzie, and that band all seemed distant memories. As the sand cat gestured for him to continue where Bruce left off, the only thing that was left was the here and now. "After saving Bruce from those scum, you appeared. I also must thank you. If you had not distracted that gunman, things could have turned from bad to worst in an instant." He replied, giving the gunman a short glare. |

RE: Roval Arms
Am listened intently fascinated by the alien's backgrounds.
"Hey, it's no problem. I try my best to be the good guy hehe." Am leaned back onto his feet and let out a great yawn before slowly raising his right hand to shoulder level and held it out flat. The air around it began to shiver and distort light passing by his hand as though his hand was rapidly increasing in temperature. Suddenly his hand erupted into brilliant blue flames which lapped lazily against his skin as they floated towards the ceiling. "well regardless what you call it. It is fun eh? I thought since I've seen your ability it's only fair that I showed you mine. I'm Pyrokinetic. Where I'm from you have to be registered to use magic and you can only use it in certain situations. But here I can do magic all I like whenever the mood strikes me haha." He smiled as he turned his engulfed hand around for everyone to see. "like I told the armpit over there" he said gesturing the gunman " I could of really given him something to cry about. I don't know but I've got the funniest feeling that he's not fire resistant." With that, the flames he generated ceased and he put his hand back to his side but just as he did he noticed a large hole in the floor. "Hey...what's that there? Kinda looks like that might go somewhere." He walked cautiously over towards it. "very cool" he said looking into it. "wanna check it out?" |

RE: Roval Arms
Behind a nearby metallic door, the others might hear a muffled curse. It was very faint though. Giichi hadn't noticed it at first, because it was tucked in the back corner and hidden behind a big stack of boxes.
A split second after that, the hole in the middle of the floor promptly slammed back shut with a hydraulic mechanical hiss and a short clanging sound. Now Giichi really didn't know what to make of this. However, he thought he'd heard that curse. The cat softly walked towards the door, putting an ear to the doorway. Inside, he could hear the faint chattering of a keyboard, not to mention mumbling here and there. "Is...someone in there?" The clicking and clacking of the keyboard immediately stopped. Giichi frowned, pulling away from the doorway. He waved for the others to move on over. |

RE: Roval Arms
Terrador watched Am's ability in amusement. At the same time, it put him on edge, and he braced himself to face any potential threat. As the fire subsided, he sighed deeply and calmed himself. He then watched Giichi skulk to the random door. He was oblivious to the cursing, so he was a bit confused on the sand cat's actions. Something was up, and he approached upon the gesture.
"What is it?" He asked in a whisper as he crouched beside him. |

RE: Roval Arms
Am took a sudden interest in Gichii's discovery and followed the two Mobians over to the door.
' wow, this just keeps getting better and better. On an alien planet, surrounding by unsuspecting aliens, on an alien adventure. Life is great! ' Am thought to himself. "what is it? What do you hear?" Am whispered taking his place behind them ready for almost anything. |

RE: Roval Arms
"I would get away from that door, if I were you," Bruce said, keeping his distance. Giichi turned around.
"Why's that?" "Look at your feet." A twinge of fear ran through Giichi's veins at those words. If someone was saying that to you, it usually wasn't anything good. Regardless, he looked down with a little hesitation. The three of them would see the outlines of a trap door right at their feet. Giichi's eyes widened and his fur bristled up as he realized what he'd just stepped on. "It's okay," Bruce waved them back over. "Just walk away from the door and Evan won't drop you in the sewer." Giichi couldn't get away from the door fast enough, as he practically made a flying leap back to the middle of the room. "So...who's Evan?" "Evan Roval. Grandson of Adam Roval, who built this place. That door leads to his 'playroom', you could say. You saw the trap door get rid of one of my buddies, right? He rigged up a whole security system like that to this building to keep out intruders, and he doesn't like people coming into his control center. That's why there's a trap right in front of the door there." Giichi found that really hard to believe. "Don't tell me these traps kill people." Bruce shook his head. "Nah, they just drop people outside the building somewhere. His way of keeping out troublemakers." "Guy must be dedicated to his craft..." Brucie let out a little laugh. "I don't think I know of any time when Evan's even left this building. He loves this place, and he's been here a really long time, or so Lizzie says. Says he's actually gone a little crazy too from not going outside much..." |

RE: Roval Arms
Bruce's warning brought little fear to the Geomancer as he lookwd down. He remained vigilant and took a few gentle and cautious steps away from the trap. After he was in the clear, he sighed deeply, showing that task was mentally stressful. Any and all questions he had were asked by Giichi and answered by Bruce, ao the echidna simply listened in to their conversation.

RE: Roval Arms
Am slowly stepped back away from the trap door. His calm exterior had evaporated away replaced by a concerned expression like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
'did that guy in there see me repel to the roof?' Am thought. "he could blow my cover" Am whispered to himself. Am turned to Bruce "everything? he sees everything that goes on around here?" |

RE: Roval Arms
"That's right," Bruce said, in response to Am's question. "Cameras and traps throughout the entire building."
The bear glared up at a small camera up in the corner as it tracked their movements. Meanwhile, Giichi silently gave thanks for having brought along Terrador. If he hadn't brought the echidna along, he might have launched straight into his plan to scope out the building for treasure, and no doubt that would have gotten the attention of Mr. Evan Roval. Now he knew he'd have to proceed much more carefully. This security system would need to go before he could do any serious work. But how to get it turned off and how to deal with its operator? "So...it's just Evan monitoring all this? No security guard?" Bruce gave a small chuckle. "He built the system partially for his hobby, and partially because he's too cheap to get any other security." That's good...so if I remove him from the picture, I would be free to explore without interruption. I just need to find a way into that room before he can trap me. The cat spared a glance at the door. He'd have to pipe in air and electricity for the command center to work. That meant there'd have to be an air duct plus a crawlspace to get at the wires in case of problems. And Giichi would be small enough to fit in any crawlspace no problem. He'd also need to separate from his party at some point in order to do the heist properly. Maybe I'll just treat this as reconnaissance and come back later by myself. It doesn't have to be done today. "Well...I guess we've seen enough of this musty old basement, Terrador. Want to go upstairs and look at the rest of the murals?" |
