Angel Island Beach

[Tatsuhiro]

One bolt missed while the other two hit the side of his arms, once again bouncing off. But those shots had managed to chip something, as a piece of scale flew off with the two bolt shots. As Jijeka-Te swooped down, he barely dodged it as he moved to the side. But as a result he ran straight into Gail’s arm; right in the ribs. But he wasn’t about to go down so easily. While he may have gotten hit, Tatsu’s reflexes reacted to the wolf’s sudden presence and promptly dug his claws into the wolf’s arm; which with a little help from his tail and foot-work, kept him from flying backwards. Without hesitation, he then tried to swat Gail with right arm.

[Gerald Robotnik]

Gerald wasn’t the least bit happy about fighting this guy. And not only that, but what the girl was insinuating wasn’t any better. He felt the pit of his stomach twist up inside him. No…it couldn’t be…

He had to think. This…Dr. Robotnik was trying to take over the world; a world which was at the cross-roads of annihilation. He knew that if the Doctor fellow, and his friends fought to try and grab the Chaos shards it could lead to sure destruction. He already wanted to talk to the man, to try and snap him out of insanity and put some sense into him. Or at least warn him of the incoming disaster that awaited them all. And as much as he hated to admit it, this was a perfect opportunity. He wouldn’t know what lied ahead of him, but if they didn’t want him dead then he could only assume that he wouldn’t be harmed.

He grabbed the head of the Artificial Chaos and pulled it off, and while coming up to the side of Chadin he stuck his strange invention onto him; with Heal-unit in storage. It would end up covering most of his body since he was much smaller than he was.


“Keep Chadin safe. I’m sorry, but I have to do this…” Gerald ordered the creature, before walking off more to the side away from the group.

“I don’t know where or who you are, but if you call this attack off, I’ll come with you freely.”


[“What?!”] the girl began with disbelief in her voice, [“You’re giving up just like that? Well, you’re no fun…”]

“Who said I was giving up?” Gerald stated very sternly as he clenched his fist. “I want to have a talk with this, Doctor. But I won’t come until you call this attack off my friends!”

[Jijeka-Te]

Having had her attack dodged, Ji tried to make a U-turn, but lost momentum and crashed. She found herself on her back in the grass a few yards behind Tatsu. Anu would have gone to see if she was okay, but didn't want to get involved with Tatsu and Gail.

Not easily defeated, she began to pull herself to her feet.

[Gail Strafer]

Gail howled in pain as Tatsu dug his claws into his arm. It sure hurt like hell, but Gail could fight through this kind of pain. Growling, he returned his gaze to the demon, and saw him swinging his other arm in for a second strike.

Well, I've got something sharp too.

Gail moved to intercept by opening his mouth wide, exposing his many sharp teeth. In an instant, he was lunging forward to intercept the arm, aiming his bite between the elbow and shoulder area. Simultaneously, he pushed forward to send the both of them toppling to the ground with his big size and weight.

He was oblivious to the discussion Gerald was having with how wrapped up he was in the fight, not to mention the incoming SWATpods.

[I know I said I wanted to have Gail protest Gerald leaving, but there's really not much opportunity without Tatsu stopping his attack.]

[Chadin]

"Wha- Gerald, what are you doing!?" WOW did having this Chaos thing covering my body feel WEIRD!! But that wasn't the only thing I meant by that statement either.

I jumped out in front of Gerald with my arms held out to the sides to bar Gerald's way. "You can't serious? You can't just hand yourself over to Robotnik; he's insane! He'll never listen to anything you say anyway; and you'll probably just end up Robotized or dead. He's a total ego-maniac; he'll never tolerate someone as smart or smarter than him working with his enemies. Worse yet, he might just turn you into one of his lab rats, and trust me when I say that you DON'T want that to happen!! Sorry, Gerald, but there is no way, no how I'm going to let you do this!!!"

The Swat-bot drop ship by now has landed and discharged its troops. A dozen Swat-bots came charging out of the forest, with wrist lasers outstretched and at the ready.

"Hold fire!" One Swat-bot bearing read markings on its armour called out. "New directive: Capture blonde human. Friendly unit engaged with intruders. All units switch to stun rounds. Fire at will." The Swat-bots formed up into a firing line like ancient red-coats and began unleashing a storm of blue stun rounds into the entire group, regardless of who is in the way.

"UGH!!!" Stars exploded in my vision as I took a stun round directly to the back of my head. It felt like I'd been hit by a 400 pound linebacker, with a sledgehammer! I lay on the sand, unconscious, but alive. But I still felt like throwing up.

Anyone else hit by the stun-rounds would feel a similar degree of incapacitating pain, but overall suffer no serious lingering side-effects afterward. Of course, the amount of pain and effectiveness of the stun-rounds would vary depending on where each person was hit, and their personal pain tolerance.

[Gerald Robotnik]

[“-Both- of you don’t have much choice in the matter!”] Rose replied before Chadin got hit with the stun.

Gerald gasped as he saw Chadin getting struck by the stun ray, reaching his hands forward in an attempt to catch him before he hit the ground.

“Chadin-!!!!”

Just as he exclaimed, he was hit; twice. Once in the solar plexus and another in his right shoulder, which caused him to be knocked back and land onto the ground hard.

[“Hey, Hey, HEY!!!”] Rose yelled, [“You dolts! You’re not supposed to hit the merchandise! Robotnik’s -so- going to scrap you for doing that!”]


He groaned, the pain was about the same as how Chadin felt, but to the tenth power. He didn’t lose consciousness, but he was pretty close to it. His vision seemed a little blurry and felt incredible terrible. He couldn’t move his right arm, but he did manage to move his left over his chest were he felt a built-up of pain.

The Swatpod that Tatushiro had come in finally made it too the beach; the vechile covered with a variety of plant fauna that flew off while it was in the clear. It flew over to where Gerald lied and lowered itself without landing. The doors opened as one Swatbot came out; hangs off a chained ladder and dropped down to the ground. It went over to were Gerald was laying and picked him up with it’s right arm; slugging him over it’s shoulder before going back to the vechile. As it began to climb up, the pod began to lift off; getting higher above the ground to where no normal person could reach.

Once the Swatbot entered the pod, it went off towards the path it had made in the jungle.

[Tatsuhiro]

He fell back, struggling with the wolf, but without putting his bent leg in front of him. While it created space, the wolf still overpowered him. He growled in aggravation, trying to swat the back of his head with his claws, as well as tilting to the side to try and free his tails. As he was doing this, the Swatbot’s came through the forest’s brush.

Getting his tail out from under him, he wrapped it around Gail’s waist and with all the strength he had attempted to move Gail in-front of the alley fire; who weren’t concerned about his safty.

[Jijeka-Te]

(Okay... with Gerald out... I guess I post now?)

Jijeka-Te somehow managed to get into the air and dodge the flurry of stun-rounds without getting hit even once. Anu wasn't so lucky, and got one on the side, knocking him to the ground.

Now Ji was focusing on surviving. Never mind the attackers or the deserters.

[Gail Strafer]

[color=#1E90FF]Gail released his grip with his jaw as Tatsu swiped hard at it. However, he replaced the jaw with his arm, as he tried punching Tatsu in the face with the other. The tail was an unexpected maneuver, as it wrapped around him and thrusted him away from the creature. This definitely caught the wolf off guard, confusing him enough to get pushed back.

"Hey! What's--AAAAAAAHHHH!"

The stunbolt shots cleanly shot Gail several times all over his body, instantly making him go rigid as he screamed. After that display, the wolf slumped downwards, only being propped up by the hold of Tatsu's tail.

[Chadin]

[SHUSH!!! Lets see how this plays out!!]

"Target captured, switching to original task."

Error: Friendly unit still in line of fire.

Solution, remove friendly unit.

Execute:

"Units 6-4 and 6-5. Remove friendly unit from intruders so that we may terminate intruders."

It would seem that the limited programing of the Swatbots had forgotten about Jii, lost track of her during their initial firing, or perhaps they considered her no threat. In any event, two of the Swat-bots stepped out of the rank and file and began marching towards Tatsu. All the rest raised their arms as if in some kind of attention while they waited for the two Swat-bots to remove Tatsu from Gail and the rest. All in a perfect line in what effectively looked like a parade line-up and seemingly unaware of the lizard floating high up in the air.

For the time being, I was still unconscious after the direct stun round hit. But that said, the stun rounds effective duration was relatively short. Usually just long enough to capture a target. However, the Swat-bot commander had made a crucial mistake falling back to its original orders to kill us since a kill order conflicted with its friendly fire protocols. That meant it had to make sure there was no friendly forces at risk before opening fire with lethal rounds and thereby giving all of us time to potentially recover and fight back before they got that chance. If Jii could stall the Swat-bots out a little longer, everyone hit would be able to get back into the fight again.
