RE: Angel Island Beach
Chadin's shots pinged off of the glass, making smaller spider webs where they hit. While it looked like Vanessa's attack had done considerable damage, the thick glass would need a few more strong blows to fully be destroyed.
If the SWATbot piloting the ship were a living creature, it probably would have a very confused, bewildered look on its face as Vanessa clung there and hurled abuse at it. But since it was a robot, it merely decided the next logical course of action would be to try to get rid of the cat and then continue the assault. So the SWATpod started flying in an erratic pattern across the ocean bay, hoping to toss the stowaway off into the water. For the moment, it looked like Vanessa's actions worked perfectly in allowing the others to get to shore. --- Gail wanted to fire on the SWATpod like Chadin, but he felt far too afraid of hitting Vanessa and withheld his fire. When the captain called out they'd have to swim for the sand, he figured it'd be the best course of action right now since he couldn't get a clear shot. So off the wolf went into the water, holstering his revolver even as he dived in and started making big strokes for the shore. --- "Certainly, guvnah," the captain said to Gerald, as he accepted his bag and put it in a secure storage locker near the helm. "I'll come back if possible, but that depends on how fast I can find a hiding place or how fast you all can take that machine down!" |

RE: Angel Island Beach
"Aw, nuts, that things outside my range!" I grumbled out loud. Granted, I know that my crossbow isn't the most high powered energy weapon out there, but I know it should have done more damage than that. Unfortunately, the energy shots do dissipate in power with distance. Which means if I want to have any home of doing some real damage, I'm going to have to be much closer.
And with another pull of the trigger, I meeped in alarm and my ears and tail shot bolt upright when my crossbow fired, but no energy shot came out the other end. "AW, NUTS!!!" Frantically, I ejected the spent clip and reached for my satchel for a fresh one. I only prayed that Vanessa could keep that thing distracted long enough... |

RE: Angel Island Beach
Gerald soon found himself feeling incredible heavy as he struggled to stay above the surface. Clothes and water didn’t mix, and even though he could swim he wasn’t used to the depths he was now in. He was waiting for his little device to work. He didn’t know how it would do; only that he knew it worked before. To his surprising, something was happening. There was a strange glow that surrounded the water in a certain distance from the device. Before he knew it, he felt something grab his arms that was holding onto the cone-like device; and a set of eerie looking green eyes could be seen below the water.
After first, Gerald was a bit fearful as he wasn’t used to it, but soon he remembered that –he- made it. The head of the artificial creature poked out of the water’s surface and it’s soulless eyes looked directly at it’s creator. Gerald just sort of stared for a few seconds to get a grip, before finally giving it an order. “Uh….thing that I’ll think of a name later- could you please get me to shore?” The liquid being didn’t reply, but it did seem to respond to his command. He soon found himself being pulled at a alarming rate across the water. Gail had already passed him by as Gerald hadn’t even tried to swim; but now he was getting very far ahead. Seeing as Gerald wasn’t a bad guy, he grabbed onto Gail’s arm as passed on by. “Sorry for not giving a warning, but I’m still not quite use to this yet.” He had a bit of an uneasy smile, probably because this wasn’t exactly a time he would have liked to go swimming. |

RE: Angel Island Beach
The cat wasn't going to be shaken off the plane easily. Her powers greatly dampening the g-forces as well as how used to these conditions she was. Vanessa though just couldn't stand on the plane any longer. Catching the onto the wing as she slid back, she hung onto the plane. Having to come up with a plan she decided to do what came natural.
Letting go she let the plane move farther ahead of her, making sure to hit with both of her feet, she sent herself off the plane by kicking it in the rudder as hard as she could muster. "Sees ya later chump!" |

Having reached the shore safely, Ji couldn't take her eyes off Vanessa.
"...That woman has courage," she remarked. "If only she had as much intelligence." Anu was taking a good look around. He said nothing. The Shattering screwed up time something awful. A select few were dumped out of their age altogether, a certain Egyptian queen included. One of Kitty O'Brien's characters. |

RE: Angel Island Beach
[SWATpods are more of a spherical shape rather than your typical plane, if I remember right. They don't have wings and use hover jets. Hence the name SWATpod. Still, I would guess they'd have a rudder of some kind.]
Vanessa's kick hit the rudder solidly, causing it to briefly get jammed to one side. This sent the SWATpod into a solid spin to the right. Once again though, the pilot being a robot helped out here. A flesh-and-blood pilot probably would have passed out from the G forces, but the SWATpod merely continued to fiddle with the controls, hoping to unjam the rudder somehow. This would more or less give everyone else time to make it to the beach. As Captain Danny turned the fishing boat back away from the beach, he turned to look if everyone had gotten in the water. Chadin was the only one left, so far as he could tell. He'd been providing covering fire for the others, based on what he'd heard. Good on him. The captain appreciated a team player. However, if he wanted to help on the island, he couldn't stay much longer. "Chadin!" he called back. "You had best jump now if you want to get onto the island. Now's your best chance to go for it! Looks like Vanessa hit that bugger good!" --- Gail continued to swim as hard as he could for the shore, hoping the SWATpod wouldn't have time to return fire before he got to cover. Suddenly though, something grabbed his arm and started pulling him along, throwing off Gail's rhythm and causing him to briefly dunk his head underwater. When the wolf recovered, he looked at what was pulling him along and cried out in terror. The WATER was pulling him! It actually was holding onto his arm! "AAAH! WHAT IS THIS?!" Then Gerald gave his reassuring words, and he looked over to see the doctor also being pulled by the being. Now feeling rather sheepish (not to mention unmanly) about screaming out in terror, he decided the next best thing to do would be to ask about what was going on. "Please...tell me...what is this thing and how do you know what it is? Can we even...trust it?" |

RE: Angel Island Beach
I nodded to the captain's suggestion, hit the switch on my crossbow to collapse it, slung the strap over my shoulder and dove head first into the drink.
You wouldn't think it, what with deer having such dainty looking legs, but they can be surprisingly strong swimmers when the want to be. Plus, my parents instilled into me a fondness for swimming as far back as when I still had spots on my back. Who'd ever think that now that skill could potentially be the difference between reaching the shore or being shot in the water. I certainly couldn't keep up with whatever it was that was pulling Gerald and Gail, but frankly, I didn't even notice. I was just focused on one thing: getting to shore without getting blow-up. |

RE: Angel Island Beach
“Of course we can trust it, I made it!” Gerald exclaimed. “The other part of your question though, is another matter…Frankly, I don’t –know- what it is or how I even knew how to make it. But rest assured it can’t harm you…Unless somehow you’re the enemy-but I highly doubt that. Uhh…how do I explain this thing anyway…”
He felt foggy in thought when he first tried to explain, and the explanation came to him in jagged thoughts. “…it’s like Chaos Energy…except, in a liquid state. Something like an in-between version of pure energy and the Chaos emeralds that hold it. And then…there’s something about a ‘God of Destruction’ foretold in old Echidna legends about a monster made up of water…either way, I know for certain there’s nothing to worry about; it listens to me. It’s called..Um…Artificial….Chaos? Yes, I think that’s right…” He couldn’t think straight. It seemed like the more he delved into it, the more his head started to hurt. Not to mention have to take his glasses off only helped this notion. It was hard to pull information that was already unclear to him, but doing it with a headache made it worse. He brought one of his hands up to his head as he started to rub his temple. Why didn’t he think to buy some aspirins while he was out? He looked out behind him, to see Chadin in the water far away. He looked towards the Artifical Chaos and then back at Chadin. “Hey, hold up a second!” Gerald started sounded concerned. The creature soon stopped, and turned around to face Gerald. “Do you think you can get Chadin from here?” It didn’t seem to reply (probably because it couldn’t), though it did as he said. Since they were all in the ocean, it was like a huge playground for the thing. It didn’t bother to retain it’s body mass because there was no point in it. A part of it traveled in the water until it would get to the deer. It would try and grab onto his arm, making sure this time to not drag the deer underward and it would begin to pull him forward. “Don’t fight it, it’s perfectly alright!!!” Gerald shouted to Chadin, to help re-assure him. |

RE: Angel Island Beach
Vanessa continued sailing towards the beach. Waiting till she almost hit the water she launched herself down towards the water. Then once again parallel, using her momentom to ski on surface of the water for a moment, it was enough to ski along the water and get another set of jumps.

Ji continued to watch Vanessa. She had to admit, what that cat lacked in common sense she made up for in style.
Anu had now turned his attention back to everyone else. The Shattering screwed up time something awful. A select few were dumped out of their age altogether, a certain Egyptian queen included. One of Kitty O'Brien's characters. |
