RE: The Hollowbrook
Priscilla was completely taken back by the move. Soon finding her vision tunneled by the half wolf's glare.

"uh... uh..." the buxom white wolf could only stammer out. having lost all train of thought. She visibly shrunk back back when nail began to talk. Though having had a dark master for some odd years, Priscilla wasn't totally petrified with terror. She managed to clear her throat "... respect, yeah."

Relic couldn't see what was happening to Priscilla but he could see the effects. How Priscilla's attitude changed when she made eye contact with Nail. A grimace formed on his articulated helm. This time as he made his way to the half fox it was not under Priscilla's direction, nor to preserve any former deceleration or creed. This time each slow, meandering step he took towards Nail was for another reason. The last shred he had left from his former life, before he became a living nexus of evil A cursed being, chained by his iron clad code of honor to become the anti-thesis to what he once was, a paladin.

Relic did not move aggressively. When he finally reached nail, he leaned forward as if to embrace him in a hug. Intent on making the wolf hear the whisper of oblivion. If Nail did not avoid the hug, he'd find himself in a smiler situation to what he had put Priscilla through.
The entire room would fade to black, Only leaving the gigantic knight in his vision. Relic would speak to him a truth only understood on the primitive level. A truth so horrid and shocking it would force his mind to the brink of cracking. Weather he snapped temporarily and would be over come with a broken moral or berserk out or even reject the truth and live in an inspired delusion could happen, all be it not at once or in even probability.

RE: The Hollowbrook
Nail resisted the urge to smile as he watched Priscilla writhe under his glare. First time he'd gotten to make her feel uncomfortable instead of the other way around, and he was relishing every moment of it. But behind him, he heard the slow meandering footsteps of Relic approaching.

Oh crap...

Nail had been counting on Relic not making any moves, so long as he didn't physically threaten Priscilla. But now he could almost feel the monster's breath on the back of his neck. If he stayed sitting, he had little doubt Relic was going to do something very nasty.

But he had been in worse situations on a battlefield than this, like when he'd been forced to cut off half of his own tail to escape an enemy. Nail coolly told himself he would survive this, and to panic would be to invite death.

Staying as relaxed as he could, Nail stood up and walked closer to Priscilla, avoiding the hug. At the same time, he was being very careful not to break steady eye contact. If he did, the effects would wear off a lot more quickly. All the same, his very being practically screamed at him to face the threat behind him. But that would probably just get him killed faster. At this point, he had only one hope of keeping the monster at bay.

Maintaining his polite tone, he kept speaking as he walked around the coffee table towards her, moving slowly so as not to upset the giant.

"Lady Priscilla... Please, tell Relic to sit down. You will be fine, as long he doesn't try to hurt me."

Priscilla might notice more light and color coming to her surroundings as Nail spoke. She would be starting to get used to the glare now.

RE: The Hollowbrook
Priscilla let out a groan then covered her face. She sat back sinking herself into the couch. Rubbing the base of her muzzle.

"What the devil now...Another nightmare?" the white wolf wasn't speaking to anyone specifically. She had been plagued by night terrors and awful dreams. Nail's stare wasn't far off from what she normally went though. In fact she hadn't even acknowledged he had done anything.

Priscilla turned moved her hand away from her eye long enough to cast a glance at Nail. Remembering what they had been talking about before.

"Who's this Robotnik? Tell me about him, he sounds like quite the figure if he has the states riled up in a huff."

the large knight passed by the half wolf letting out a grunt. "Cause her harm and I will make you live for ever." he whispered into his ear. Giving Nail no time for a rebuttal he moved on his way.

RE: The Hollowbrook
Nail stood frozen stiff, as Relic's mouth went directly beside his ear and he whispered into it. He couldn't do anything except answer in the affirmative.

"Yessir."

He spoke it quietly and practically as one word from how fast he answered. It almost sounded like a little plea to the heavens for this guy to not do anything to him.

Since he needed a moment to recover, he shook his head and then moved to sit. But then he thought better of it since Relic could walk up behind him easily again like that and remained standing.

"Robotnik... He's a mad scientist who loves robots and wants to conquer the world. Been a menace to the entire planet ever since he appeared. I don't know about now, but he loves to always build a big city for himself somewhere and call it Robotropolis. A few times he's come pretty close to taking over the world too, but he's always stopped just in the nick of time by Sonic the hedgehog and his friends."

Now if only one of them were around right now...

"Anyway, apparently he wants this city and the military here is too stretched to fight him. I'd like to work for them, to help repay my debt to you."

RE: The Hollowbrook
"You work for me." lady Priscilla quickly corrected him, even if he hadn't made a mistake to correct.

"Tell me, would he have anything of value to take?" Priscilla inquired. This Robotnik sounded like 2 things. One she was fond of the other she abhorred. He sounded like he had a lot of resources at his disposal and second he sounded like either competition or a threat.

"Remember, pet, I don't like having my time wasted." the nick name rolled off her tongue smooth as butter. Even if Nail didn't like the calling, he could clearly tell Priscilla actually didn't mean a literal pet. The white wolf used the term the same way some may use "love" or "hun".

RE: The Hollowbrook
[/i][You got any thoughts on becoming a leader in the Thieves' Guild, like I said in my PM? Maybe she could be part of the Soleanna branch so it's not the entire organization.]

Nail really didn't like the way Priscilla said he worked for her. Before it had merely been a debt to repay. Now it was looking like he was starting to become an indentured servant. He had to get out of here before that became a reality.

Regardless, he stopped for a moment to ponder how to answer Priscilla's question. The hybrid viewed this as an opportunity to better his situation depending on how he answered. After looking at the ceiling for a few seconds, his gaze returned to the wolfess.

"I would say so. He likes to search for rare and powerful ancient artifacts to go with his machine armies. He's also got lots of amazing technology and machines, but..."

He stopped for a second. Nail needed to think of a way to say this without insulting his hosts. Calling them "computer illiterate" would be putting it very gently.

"...well, you'd probably need a computer genius or a mechanic to make use of any of it. I know a lot about firearms, but that's it. Maybe I could go see about finding someone who knows more about technology though."

RE: The Hollowbrook
Priscilla eyes the way he looked at her when she mentioned work. She noted it mentally, can't say she expected him be happy with situation. though she was quite confident in the fact that Nail knew if he harmed her, Relic would still be around. So as expected he was trying to get out as quickly and peacefully as possible. It didn't matter to Priscilla, the white wolf would keep him around for as long as she could. Let him go before he got to his breaking point and didn't care what Relic did to him. lady Priscilla was aware that the only person she could count on was Relic. As having been his foe far longer then his master, she couldn't count the number of times he had taken someones spot in dire times. A small part of her was suspecting he wished to end his own life more then protect.

"Ehhh..." she wasn't quite sure what to say on the plan. Deciding to keep it on the back burner. "You'll have my say on that matter after a bit of rest. For now I am expecting guest. Those nice men from the guild" the way the last two words left he lips, nail knew immediately it couldn't be legal. "While I have no doubt that he" she pointed to Relic "could slaughter two whole armies of those shifty eyed, hooded highway men, an extra pair of eyes on the back of my skull making sure I do not gain a new way to breath can't be harmful." The wolfess shifted her gaze towards Relic, extending her arm out. the large knight leaned forward in response, ready to preform any task she had waiting. Instead of giving any command she just ran her hand over his giant arm. Feeling all the power she controlled at her finger tips. A small, malevolent smile curled he lips. A look Nail had only seen in those all to eager to stroke the semi-automatic weapons in their hands.

RE: The Hollowbrook
Nail had been afraid it might come to this. With her mentioning work before, Priscilla clearly wanted him to do a lot more than merely repay his debt. She wanted him to stick around for a long, long time. Nail had no intention of doing that, whatsoever. He was first and foremost a mercenary. So he made a mental note to refrain from sharing potential future plans with her. Nail honestly didn't care about killing Priscilla or Relic or anything. He just wanted to be on his way.

Oddly though, her only henchman appeared to be this beast. While it would definitely be suicide for Nail to challenge him in open combat, he also looked extremely slow and easy to outrun. But this witch could do teleportation too. Would it matter if he could run away if she could simply warp this guy to wherever he went? He needed to ascertain the limits of her power and what other resources she would have to find him later.

When she mentioned "the guild", it didn't sound good. Looked like she was subcontracting some of her work to a criminal element from around here. That would play a factor too when he would make his escape. So he decided to ask a few seemingly innocent questions about them.

"What is this guild you speak of? Is it some sort of gang?"

RE: The Hollowbrook
"ugh, do you have know everything?" Priscilla was quite unhappy with Nail asking the question. "I might as well inform you what is going to be done tonight." The wolf talked at Nail rather too him. His stare only making her have a slightly higher tone of respect then before subconsciously. Unlike most others, Priscilla had to deal with a menacing shadow king figure for a good portion of her life and being in direct opposition of her now servant Relic. Suppressing mind numbing fear and keeping her senses most of the time was a necessity.

"The winds of change are blowing directly from my lips. On this night we are going to create a vacuum of power so that which we may fill it."

"Relic..." The white wolf seemed to pause after actually saying his name. Instead of the usual brute or monster comment. A million thoughts flooded her mind though she quickly dispelled them. "Make sure you keep Nail here in working order. I don't know why your tone changed towards him, but I say who stays and who goes."

Much like partners over long periods of time, Priscilla and Relic had a connection that ran deeper then with any other being on the planet. Nail could guess the reason, but as far he could have told Relic acted the same in front of Priscilla the whole time. More so with Relic behind a suit of armor and seemingly stone walling any semblance of emotion or even body language.

"I wold never dare to disobey you, milady." the ex-paladin responded. Barely keeping his large claw from gnashing. The blades just curled up and relaxed. His whole body periodically let out shudders. After all Relic was suppressing various curses, anyone one of which would have driven another man insane.

Nail thought about hitting Relic with the smuggest smirk he could muster and top it off with a double birdie, but thought he shouldn't push his luck. With this guy set in his place, he decided to inquire more about the job.

"I hate to ask more questions, but a vacuum of power? Do you mean like shooting the mayor of the town or something?"

If that were the case, he'd feel uneasy about doing it without knowing more about the world he currently resided in. He had to know more. He also figured that a little explanation on why he kept asking questions might placate Priscilla.

"I apologize for all the questions, but it's necessary. I always request my client share as much information as possible about what work I'm doing. I don't like surprises. The right information could be the difference between life and death."
