Pursuing Robotnik's fleet

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
“…Aren’t you even going to take this situation a little bit seriously?” Gerald muttered, directing it at Gail and Vanessa.

He was still in the back, so he saw Jii move out of the corner of his eye; with the crook ready to snag Vanessa’s neck. While he could understand how she could be annoying, it wasn’t the best time to start fights. With a shocked and fumbled expression, he quickly reached out, grabbing the cane to stop here.

“No,nononono- This is –not- a good time to start a fight, miss!” Gerald exclaimed, with a tone filled with anxiety. He quickly placed up his left hand to show that he himself wasn’t trying to start anything either, putting on a worried smile as he continued. “ Calm down please. It’d be a good idea to not start killing each other when there’s a mad-man who seems to be meant on destroying all existence loose.”

He put his left arm to his chin as he looked up; his expression changed as though he was deep in thought. “-Speaking of which, shouldn’t we hurry on about that?”

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
While Vanessa wasn't a truly bad person. Gerald saved Ji from a colossal beat down. Also the fact that Vanessa was pretty clueless and never even suspected a sneak attack. A form of attack she looked down upon.
"What ever bear dude, Thinker is right, we should get me to Row-blob-it so I can kick his tail up and down Radical city!" the whole dimensional merge thing was clearly over her head. "Or I aint East Side Gunz's second toughest enforcer! Aint that right lil' bro?" she looked to Chadin for his approval. Whether he gave it or not wouldn't really affect her any way. She just assumed he was agreeing.

"... ... ..."

After Gerald grabbed Ji's crook and stopped her, she hesitantly put it away.

"...*sigh* Fine. But if we were back home and she talked to me like that, she'd almost certainly wind up in the dungeons."

Ji stood back and tried to control her annoyance. Anu said nothing.

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
"Sorry Ji, but this isn't your home I'm afraid. Anyway, the professor here's right. We should get going."

"Then feel free to climb aboard, lads and lasses!" Captain Danny called out, waving them from the pilot's nest of his fishing boat further down the dock. The boat's diesel engine ignited, grumbling to a start with a fairly loud roar. A cloud of black smoke puffed out of the back of the craft.

Smiling, now that they were on their way to starting a new adventure, he swiftly ran for the boat and quickly left behind the group. Clearly he didn't pick up on Chadin's disdain for his motivations in going on this trip.

"Let's go everyone! Fame and fortune await! Yahooooo!"

He swiftly hopped aboard the boat and quickly ran to the front, so that he could see where they were going.

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
"Dead-man walking." I groaned with disdain as I shook my head at Gail. "Come on, we still have a mad dictator to stop."

Unconsciously my hand drifted down into one of my belt pouches. There my hand began to fondle the small emerald shard there. I could only hope this little bobble would help me in the fight to come. After pulling my hand back out of my pocket and securing the pocket tightly, I ran after Gail; eager to finally continue our chase of Robotnik.

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
“But, I’m not--”

Gerald was about to correct Gail before he got onto the boat quickly.

“--A professor…”

Still, in a strange sense he felt like he was lying to himself. He shook his head. What in the world was going on with him? He got onto the boat and went up to the front like Nail. He too wanted to get a glimpse at where they were heading. He didn’t know what to expect, and he wanted to think of a plan badly.

Being on the boat felt weird to him. He hadn’t been on one before and the feeling of not being on solid ground made him feel a bit uneasy. But, once again he felt like he was lying. It seemed like ever turn he took resulted in this: the feeling that he was ultimately lying to himself. But he hadn’t been on a boat before, he wasn’t a professor. He didn’t know anything about Chaos Emeralds and he never heard of a Mobian in his life.

And yet, at the same time, he did know, he had, and was.

His headache began to increase in pain. Before hand, it was dying down but after this it seemed to have changed it’s mind and come back. Gerald closed his eyes began to rub his temples to try and soothe it, but it wasn’t doing much good.

‘Am I going –insane-? In certainly feels like it. How does any of this make sense? Why do I know so much but don’t remember –learning- it. Hell, at this rate I’m going to find out that I’m really a space-alein and that this crazy mad-man is my son or something.’

“What to do, what to do…” Gerald muttered quietly, as he continued to help his headache.

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
"Huh, so we have to get on that hunk of crud?" Vanessa stated absentmindedly not taking into account the captain's feelings. Or that he was in ear shot.
Craning her neck, the cat began looking for the highest point on the boat. Spotting the place usually reserved for a crows nest, she leaped into the air. Before she began falling back to the boat she kicked her feet down, with a burst of flames she was propelled once again towards the 40 - 60 foot mast. Vanessa vaulted her self off the wooden pillar and then back. Kicking off of nothing but air. She repeated the process until she was atop the mast.

Triumphantly she stood on the tallest part of the ship. Her hoodie blowing in the stronger wind. "HEY GUYS YOU ALL LOOK LIKE DUMB ANTS!" it was a good thing she was a loud mouth, or there was a chance she wouldn't be heard.

Anu stepped onto the ship like a normal person. Ji, wanting to show off a bit, opened her frills and glided on the wind for a bit before landing perfectly on the deck.

Her attention was quickly caught by the show-off Vanessa, who had decided to take a seat on top of the main mast.

(Ji) "...Are you sure I can't smack some manners into her? Because I'm pretty sure she needs it. Desperately."
(Anu) "... ... ..."

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
Gail eagerly looked ahead towards the ocean beckoning them, as Robo's air ships started to drift over the horizon. That actually caused the smile to fade from his face. He never realized how much time they'd wasted talking like this.

BOOM!

"What the-- HOLY CRAP!"

Gail only just caught sight of Vanessa blasting sky high on a trail of flames, and then double jumping through the air like a Castlevania character. Almost immediately she'd made it to the top and called out that they looked like dumb ants. But Gail paid it no mind. He felt too impressed by the skill.

"Hey! How do you push off of the air anyway? I want to know!"

"Ask her on the way, laddie. We're falling behind..." Captain Danny mentioned gravely. He pointed towards the sea ahead. Gail followed his eyes, and saw the last of Robotnik's fleet getting close to disappearing over the horizon. "We best get under way, or this adventure's over before it's started."

"Then let's hop to it!"

The boat's diesel engine roared as the captain applied the throttle, making the deck lean backwards slightly. The boat bounced up and down over the incoming waves, which would make it a bit of a challenge to stand up as they surged towards their unknown objective. Gail did his best to remain standing, but this too was a new experience for him. He always figured riding on a boat would be like riding on a car, but it definitely wasn't like that. The wolf actually struggled a bit to stand up, although he did his best anyway so he could look like a man and be taller than the others.

RE: Pursuing Robotnik's fleet
[Sounds good to me]

Well, I've learned that I don't like flying much... mostly, and now I've found out that I DEFINITELY don't like sailing!! I'd spent the better part of this trip staying close to the railing trying to keep my lunch in my stomach where it belongs. If it wasn't from my light tan fur, I'd probably look green; kinda like Jii and Anu.

But when I raised my head from over the railing in the desperate hope this miserable ride would soon be over I noticed a large plume of black smoke rising up over the horizon.

"Hey! There's smoke on the horizon!" I called out to the others. Suddenly this distraction gave me something else to thing about instead of my stomach turning upside down.
