RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Without a word Am sprung unto action racing over to the buildings lowest level and busting out a window to allow himself access to it's interior. Am vanished into the dark room beyond the window and the sounds of his running quickly faded away as he made his way to the buildings stairwell. Am sprinted up the stairwell momentarily arriving at the roof access door but stopped just short of running through it. Am paused a moment and allowed himself to catch his breath and hopefully gather some intelligence.
"Sarah, I'm at the roof access door. What's it looking like out there?" "Gichii is to your right at the the far end of the building behind an machine of some sort. His attacker is to your left on the roof of another building nearby. If you stay low I don't think that guy's going to be able to see you just yet. Use caution this guy seems like an amateur but even pro's have off days. Assume he's a professional and act accordingly." "roger that" Am said reaching out to take the door handle in a tight white knuckled grip. "please don't get shot please don't get shot please don't get shot" he chanted slowly turning the handle to avoid making a lot of noise as he opened the door. "Sarah keep a close eye on that guy ok? I want to know his every move. If he sneezes I want to know, if he slips on a banana peel I want to know, ok?" "copy that" Am cracked the door very slowly as he surveyed the deal outside a bit. Seeing the way was clear he slipped around the door and shut it silently behind him before taking cover behind a near by A/C unit. "Gichii" he called "you there? It's Am!" Am paused a moment waiting for a possible reply before continuing. "Don't come to me we need to stay separated right now but listen we're gonna coordinate our movements together so we can alternate getting shots at this guy. You have a weapon right?" |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Giichi had mixed feelings when Am joined him on the roof. Sure he had cool powers but the dude was a little bit...uh... Anyway, he asked Giichi if he had a weapon, but he guessed the guy meant "gun" when he mentioned shots.
"I got these..." Giichi said, looking a little meek as he pulled out his sais from under his cloak. Then he pulled out a thin tube. "...and...this. Sleeping darts." Lot of good that would do against guns, unless he got close. But this guy was pretty far away. "Listen...we need to be careful with this guy. I think he's one of their ringleaders. And he shot someone from the other end of the street with just a handgun! I don't know how he missed me, but thank goodness he did!" Speaking of which, several more rifle rounds tore through the AC unit. Giichi cried out as he ducked for cover under his cloak. He hated guns! That's why he never used them. Mercifully, the fire temporarily ceased. Quickly, the cat jumped behind the more solid roof access cabin. |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[Terrador, don't take too many actions in one post. By the way, this is the sound that I'm talking about when I say 'ping'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jobfbmwVu9o ] The distinctive 'ping' sound came from Nail's M1 Garand, as the clip automatically ejected after he'd fired off the other seven rounds in his magazine. Admittedly, it was annoying but it did give the gun a certain quirk and charm. With the clip gone, Nail promptly slammed back in another one. Since the spent clip left the gun after the last round, the operation took less than two seconds. The hybrid hadn't heard anyone cry out in pain over there, not to mention he'd seen a flash of yellow fur. So he supposed his rounds had all missed the target. Oh well...he'd only been hoping to get lucky in shooting that guy through the AC unit. Crouching for a second to get out of sight, he issued his command to SOLIS. "Yeah...jam their communications. I know all I need to know." Without radio communication, it'd be a lot harder for that cat to get the word out about what was going on up here. Sure, they'd probably send more guys in response, but now they wouldn't be able to work together with radios. --- The traitors happily tested Terrador's armor with more gunfire...although a few looked on dumbfounded as Terrador's body appeared to vanish within the rocks. And now suddenly those same rocks were flying straight towards the group behind the car. Broken glass flashed through the air as the windows went, and smoke started to rise from the radiator. Those who couldn't get down behind the solid metal body of the trunk took several stones clean in the face. Loud howling would erupt as those hit clawed at their bloody faces from the wounds. Meanwhile, one guy behind the dumpster managed to catch a glimpse of the echidna diving under the ground. "He went under! He went under!" In something that looked like it came out of a cartoon, the concrete pressed upwards where Terrador was. Then the concrete tunnel just under the surface came straight at the dumpster guys, pressing up the mortar wherever it went. "Shoot there! THERE! GET HIM QUICK!" Gunfire would impact the pavement all around where the head of the tunnel went, but of course being solid concrete it didn't do much good. Now Terrador popped out from under the ground, right in the middle of the group. He managed to cleanly punch one guy away, then another. However, a bigger grunt, this one a burly human, decided to try something simpler than shooting Terrador. He simply brought the wooden buttstock of his shotgun to bear and aimed to clobber the echidna's brains out with it. |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[Do forgive me, guys, but I am too burned out right now to make a decent post. Work's been killer >~<]
Upon Nail's command, SOLIS assembled several voice-like noises and began generating pink noise, streaming a random mix of both over the radio channel it'd been monitoring as loud as the hardware would allow. "All communications should be blocked. Tell me when it's no longer needed." |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
(Hmm, I wasn't thinking I was pushing the combat actions. Terrador wasn't exactly running towards the enemy, but gaining momentum to chuck his armor at the foes. His last action depicts him just arriving at dumpster with no attack beyond that. In no way am I arguing, just explaining my point of view. No harm done. In fact, with that NPC's last attack, this may give me an opportunity to introduce Terrador's weapon. My only obstacle is I will briefly be RPing as his parents and I'm not sure if I need to fill out an NPC sheet for them. At the same time, I wanna get this show on the road, so I'll risk getting in a bit of trouble. Long post coming up, just a heads up.)
Terrador burst out of the ground with great speed. He felt his fist impact many opponents which brought a feel of joy to the echidna. He landed with a thud as his feet plant back onto the ground. The warrior knew well this was nowhere near the end. For all he knew, more solders had their rifles pinpointed on him. This fear was increased considering his back was against them all. He turned sharply, only to see a brief image of a wooden stock right before he heard the crunch of his own skull. The brute had indeed done his job. Terrador was struck right in the middle of his forehead. His eyes spun in circles as he struggled to find balance. A fairly sized bruise and a trail of blood running down his face was seen where the blow impacted. The world was a spinning blur of colors for him. He stumbled around, swing at the many illusions he saw from his diluted state. He found himself advancing away from the enemy and approaching an abandoned building. Terrador's first contact with this building was through the empty window that wasn't far from the ground. A brief shout would be heard as his legs flipped into the air and his body toppled inside. Next thing he knew he was having a face full of concrete and he was out cold. His eyelids fluttered before coming to a gradual close. Things were dark for the Geomancer for some time. He awoke momentarily, free of any injuries and he himself was highly perplexed. He got to his feet and dusted himself off. His eyes widened to their fullest extents as he took note of his surroundings. He was walking, seemingly floating, on nothing but an empty and infinite white void of space. "Where am I?" he muttered to himself, his voice donning a slight echo. (On second thought, I'll end it off right here. Just to shorten my post because I'm pretty tired at the moment. It'll also allow me to get the NPCs I probably need by the time my next post comes around the corner.) |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
"Well Gichii I don't know what 'These' are so I hope they can help. Sleeping darts will be useful if we can get close. I don't want to use magic just yet I'm afraid setting the neighborhood on fire probably wouldn't be good for anyone"
"Sarah you got any ideas?" " Am..he's...er...*garbled nonsense*" Sarahs voiced pulsed through waves of...yeah. "Sarah?.......Sarah?...Hello?" "*garbled noises*" "Hello? Sarah do you copy? Saaarrraaaah????" "*garbled noises*" Am sat silent a moment contemplating his next move. His job had just been made much harder. "...Just figures" Am cursed under his breath. "We can build a wormhole network that can send you 150,000 light years from one edge of the galaxy to the other in just a few weeks but we can't manage to build a claw breaking com to communicate over a 100 YARDS worth a..." Am bit back his next words as a thought suddenly came to mind. "Gichii, my Radio just went dead how's yours looking?" ______________________________________________________________________________ Sarah worked frantically to reestablish contact with Am. Being a civilian research vehicle the craft was ill equipped to handle jamming signals...something that would have to be seen to later. For the moment she was helpless to do anything it seemed. Suddenly new warning lights flickered to life gaining her notice. "Oh great now the active cameo's going..." Sarah said frantically flipping switches across an overhead control panel. "Leave it to civilians to hold a ship together with gum, adhesive strips, and dried mud!!!" Little did Sarah know that the ship used wireless circuitry. That is to say that the ship's molecular computer utilizes wireless micro-radio communications between the nano printed microprocessors in the circuitry instead of being physically connected. The jamming signal was making it difficult for some of the ships non vital systems to keep functioning amongst which happened to be the active cameo. Gradually the ship lost it's cameo, appearing seemingly from a transparent vapor, until it came completely into view. Sarahs blood ran ice cold as she realized her ship was now in plain view for everyone to see. ______________________________________________________________________________ Am felt a slight buzzing feeling in his chest like you'd expect from a bass pulsing real loud nearby. Am immediately recognized it as the calling card of a ship decloaking nearby. Am looked up into the sky and there, sure enough, was their ship silently hovering some 100 yards above the roof tops. Am's heart lept into his throat "well this went beautifully" |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Upon Am asking Giichi about his radio, he decided he'd check it. It only took a couple seconds to realize the cat was having the same problem too. He shook his head.
"Mine's gone too. We're isolated." Giichi blinked, as a thought occurred to him. He couldn't help but feel a little bit worried as he realized something. "Say...who are these people you've been talking to? I want to know. They better not be police or anything." It was then that Giichi himself heard the buzzing behind him of the ship decloaking. Curious as to what that was, he looked up into the sky. A ship...just appearing out of thin air?! What's that thing?! Who's side is it on?! And on the trail end of that thought, he couldn't help but hear Am make his little comment about how swimmingly things were going. So that probably meant whoever was on the ship was allied with him! Giichi whirled around to face Am, feeling both a mixture of surprise and anger. How long had that invisible ship been following them? It fed Giichi's belief in the police theory, for sure. Not getting too close to Am, and yet staying out of Nail's fire, the cat frowned as he asked some very pointed questions. All of a sudden Giichi didn't seem so happy with Am being here. "Am...what is that? I think you know. Is that some kind of fancy new cop aircraft? Are YOU a cop?" |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[Sorry then Terrador, I misinterpreted your post. I think I'll leave Terrador alone for this round, because I'm interested in seeing what you do with this dream sequence or whatever it is
]Nail too was extremely bewildered by the appearance of this new stealth aircraft. It looked like technology had advanced some from where he'd been before. Not to mention he had no idea who or what the aircraft was affiliated with. The loyalists? The police? The military? Robotnik? In fact, both the loyalists and traitors on the street pointed up in awe at the aircraft. So that ruled out number one. He doubted Robotnik had no interest in a little street fight so that ruled out number 4. It was probably 2 or 3 then. In any case, he thought it would be prudent for everyone to back off a second until he figured out what was going on here. He briefly stepped out to the edge of the roof to yell to his comrades. "TAKE COVER! Let me figure out what that thing is before we go any further!" Nail quickly moved to a hiding spot behind a roof access cabin as he eyed the craft and waited for it to make a move. "SOLIS, can you do anything to to find out who's side that ship is on?" |
