RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Nail edged up to the side of a shoe store on the corner of Silverstone and Gold Street. Around this corner, he expected they'd soon be facing a rain of bullets if their foes had guns. The hybrid allowed himself a little peek. At the far end of the road, he spied two cars parked sideways with figures standing behind them. But at this distance, Nail couldn't make out if they had guns or not.
However, it looked like they would have ample cover to move up. Many parked cars were lined up along the streets, in addition to random pieces of street furniture like a bus stop, a news stand, and the like. He spied a big van off to one side. It gave him an idea. Nail waved for his crew to come closer. Everyone gathered around quickly. "I'm going to fire a little warning shot to see what response we get. I bet they know we're here already anyway." While Nail wished he had a rifle, his .45 would have to do for now. So, leaning around the corner, the hybrid raised up the handgun, pointing the barrel higher to compensate for bullet drop. He sighted one man who held what looked like a rifle behind the car on the left, and gently squeezed the trigger. The 1911 kicked back solidly, sending the round flying 100 meters down the road. |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[The beginning of this post happens about 30 seconds before the end of Nail's post.]
As they dashed to the front lines, Am had a rather big crack on Giichi at how he'd been treated before. "Ya know, if you had waited for me like someone who had some sense in their head instead of acting like a hatchling and showing out in your vehicle I wouldn't have had to take that risk. Tell me, just how was I supposed to get back in touch with you?" The cat raised an eyebrow at being called a hatchling. Hatchling...? THAT'S an unusual euphemism. Where did h epick that up from? Regardless, Giichi quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, I just forgot because I needed to get here fast. This is a big, big emergency man. If my gang falls, then I have to flee town. I don't want to do that. Would you?" The cat didn't leave much room for Am to answer, as he was in a hurry to get to the front lines of this fight. He needed to see what they were now going to be up against. Eventually the group of three would see two cars parked perpendicular to a street's path, forming an impromptu barricade. Loyalist Guild members crouched behind the cars with rifles at the ready, while assorted others with various weapons hid behind buildings to the side. He guessed this is where the front lines were. Giichi quickly confronted a lynx with the second group. He'd met this lynx a few times before, but didn't know his name proper. It was Marco-something. Regardless, Giichi knew he often took charge in times of crisis, so Marco would be a good person to ask as any. "Hey, Marco is it? I brought a few more friends. How can we help? Terrador here's an earth master and Am knows fire magic." The lynx looked surprised as Giichi stepped up, and then back and forth at Terrador and Am. "Giichi..." Marco said, stunned, as he shook his head while a smile formed on his face. "I don't know you that well, but I never knew you had friends like these too. These guys ought to be great help. You though, Giichi, I know you're a climber so get up high with this radio and call out enemy movements to me." Marco quickly pulled a small hand-held radio out of his pocket. Without another word, Giichi quickly nodded and immediately ran for the townhouse they were hiding behind. In mere seconds he was already using the ornate molding around the doors and windows to scale to the top. Next, it would be Terrador's turn. "Terrador...earth magic, huh? Think you can make a better barricade for us? These cars are nice but I bet a solid wall of rock would do a lot better." After that, it would be Am's turn. "As for you, fire magic? How about you let out a big blast of flames into the air right now where they can see on down the road? If they know we're playin' with fire over here..." Marco allowed himself a throaty laugh. "Well, I bet they'd think twice about coming down here. Fire is one of the scariest things in the world, after all." Suddenly, a loud crack pierced the air from the other end of the street, like a firecracker going off. A split second later, shattering glass would grab the attention of everyone on the Loyalist side. Then one of the riflemen behind the cars cried out in pain as he dropped his gun and slumped to the pavement, blood pouring out of a hole in his clothes. Nail's .45 had found a mark, as it had traveled through a car window and into the man's shoulder. "Sniper! Get down!" another rifleman called out. They all immediately ducked for cover behind the cars. Marco too edged farther from the street corner to keep solid material between himself and bullets. As he did so, he called to Terrador and Am. "Terrador! Am! Get to work now! We need you!" |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
(Well, I suppose it's my post now lol. Sorry for the delay... again.)
Terrador smiled smugly as the cat claimed him an earth master. He took it as both a compliment and an exaggeration. Sure he was highly adept in his Geokinesis, but he was no master. Giichi seemed like the person who didn't see elemental control that often and the echidna has shown high amounts of skill with his element. With a simple nod to the lynx, he began to casually walk towards the cars and create a barrier between them. He didn't even get the oppurtunity to take two steps before the gunshot and shattering glass peirced through his eardrums. There needed to be more cover for these men and fast. Terrador knew nothing about firefights and his first assumption was there was to be a rain of bullets punishing them. His head turned sharply to Am. Perhaps he could help with his strange copying abilities. With no hesitation, he stepped up to the alien. "Am, forget the fireworks. I need your assisstance with creating a blockade." he said strangely calm. He offered out his arm for him to grab. The last time Am borrowed the echidna's power, there was physical contact. Terrador would only wait 5 seconds before disregarding he ever asked for help and proceed onwards by himself |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Am took Terra's arm topping off his use of Terra's powers.
"I agree, lets give ourselves the advantage here and put a wall all the way around us. That will put the burden on them to come in close within range. Make sure to put walkways so our guys can get up to the top of the wall on the inside. When they come in we'll have us a good old fashioned gun battle. If we get boxed in we'll escape below ground in those underground tubes you have under your cities." "wow..look at you taking charge" Sarah said "speaking of which. Sarah I want you to find this 'sniper' " Am said struggling with the unfamiliar term. "You're my eyes in the sky". "roger that" |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[I'm posting as Giichi first, because I think in this round this order makes more sense.]
Giichi launched himself over the lip of the townhouse's roof with one more step. Now he had a pretty good view of the upcoming battlefield. He thought he'd heard cries about a sniper before, so the cat cautiously approached the edge of the roof bordering the street. Giichi needed to find that sniper before he could kill anyone else. Immediately, the cat scanned the other end of the street. It wasn't long before he spied that same grey canine he'd seen earlier with Priscilla's main battle group. Was he the sniper? Giichi didn't see a rifle on him. In fact, all he saw was a little pistol. Maybe the sniper hid again after he took the shot, and this guy's just observing? Again though, the cat couldn't help but marvel at the striking similarity Grey had to Gail Strafer. Giichi had almost completely forgotten about him. In any case, the cat settled back behind the lip of the roof and called it in on the radio. "Don't see a sniper, but there's an observer on the right side of the street behind the shoe store. Gray canine, holding a handgun." --- "Roger Giichi," Marco acknowledged. He turned to the riflemen hiding behind the cars. "Right side! Shoe store! Gray canine! Keep him busy while Terrador makes us a better barricade!" The lynx waved at Terrador...then noticed Am had the same markings on his body now. He couldn't help but marvel at that. "How...how did you get the same paint on you that Terrador's got on him?" Marco asked, looking very awed but also extremely confused. --- In the meantime, rifles cracked as they answered Nail's first shot. The shoe store that he hid behind took a few rounds. |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Nail calmly observed as the men scattered like mice from cover from the first pistol shot. However, they appeared to pull themselves together rather quickly. In fact, they seemed to zero in on his location surprisingly quickly. Within just several seconds he found his first bullet being answered by several more. The shoe store's front window shattered as it took the gunfire for him. Nail grit his teeth as he withdrew behind the brick wall, while broken glass sprayed across the sidewalk.
Riflemen... Forget this route. It would be suicide. In the meantime, he saw the Guild turncoats with him looked pretty nervous now that gunfire was flying their way. Time to whip them back into shape. Again, Nail kept it cool and succinct as he described their next moves. "Some of you who've got guns, I want you to take up positions on this end of the street and return fire. If you kill anyone, that's great, but don't advance. I just want you to keep them busy while I take a group up the alleyways." Out of the corner of his eye, Nail couldn't help but notice a big van parked near them. An idea sprung to mind. He promptly stood up and walked straight over to the van. "But before I go..." the hybrid smashed open the driver's side window with a quick pistol whip. There would be a brief period of silence from the other end of the street, before Nail's group pushed that same van into view. They intended to use it as a shield, apparently. Those with guns opened Sight unseen to the Guild loyalists, Nail was now taking a detachment of 'troops' with him down a nearby alleyway. |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
After the power transfer, the echidna began his task. He stepped towards the cars and made his was a fair distance past them, more in the direction Nail made his shot. He knew he was running the risk of getting shot so his movements were quick.
He came to a halt and his markings glowed green as he applied a swift stomp with his left foot. Within seconds, the concrete ground in front of him formed a wall that was roughly twice his height and was wide enough to fill the streets. Since the barrier was larger than usual, he rested briefly before continuing. He bawled his hands into fists and applied three quick jabs across the barrier. Each punch formed perfectly shaped, moderately sized squares that were evenly placed along it. He felt this would make a decent blockade and the holes would allow the riflemen to aim their weapons and have protection at the same time. He would step away afterwards to his original spot after he was finished. |
