RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Gamma took note of the patrons reactions to his movements, and put it on file that people believing him to be a threat did not take well to such things. He then looked back down at the bar tender, hoping a little bit more that maybe he would find some useful information here after all.
"I was advised to seek out the Freedom Fighters as we share a common enemy, and that I might be of some help to them. Since they move around frequently, I was directed to Soleanna and the Thieves Guild to find more information on them." The robot spoke in his common monotone voice, but hints of emotion ran very softly below it, carrying an undercurrent of mild amusement, even though this was a serious matter. Gamma just couldn't help but be amazed at the reactions of organic creatures in the face of an unknown machine. ![]() |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
The bartender noticed a few patrons had left the bar from fear of what the robot might do, while the rest looked on, glancing at the door.
While he still didn't feel too good about giving information to this robot, he was losing business from the customers getting frightened by his presence. This robot had to get out of here, one way or another. Best just to give him what he wanted before anything else happened. "All right...if you want intel, head outside. I'll have someone meet you there in a moment." And then the bartender momentarily disappeared into the back. --- Up front, a rather shabbily dressed raccoon waited outside for the robot to obey and come back outside. |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
The machine turned his head to gaze out at the door, then looked back to see the bartender had left. So he followed the instruction given to him, and walked back outside the bar, ignoring the glances of all the customers this time. Upon exit, he looked down at the raccoon, and recorded a picture of him for later identification purposes, if necessary.
"Are you the one with the information I am looking for?" He didn't think anything was wrong, but he placed his left hand over his right, just to be safe and prepared. ![]() |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
The raccoon, who was chewing on a toothpick, raised up a hand upon hearing Gamma's question.
"Stop. Not out here. We're going somewhere more private." About a minute later, the raccoon would be leading Gamma into a private alleyway where they would not be disturbed. He took a seat on an old oil drum and continued to chew on the pick. "All right...so you need information on the whereabouts of the Freedom Fighters. Before we get into that though, I need to know how you're planning to pay for this information. We're not a charity organization, after all." [Let me know if this is taking too long for you. Just trying to make these guys act somewhat realistically, you know. Besides, pretty much all the known Freedom Fighters aren't even at their base right now XD] |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
The robot marched down the alley after the raccoon, scanning the walls for any possible traps. He was trying to be as careful as possible, especially since it was obvious the citizens here feared and disliked him.
"Payment for information? Unusual. I don't think I have anything to qualify as payment. What would you accept?" ![]() |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[Let me know what you think of taking the RP this way. I sent you a PM about it but you never responded.]
"Well..." the raccoon scratched his chin. He really wanted to just get cash so that he could just complete this transaction now and get going onto his next one. What else could be suitable for payment? An idea sprung in his mind when he remembered the museum around here had a jewelry exhibit of antique jewelry, crafted right here in Soleanna 500 years ago. Any of the pieces in there would fetch a mighty fine price. He'd been particularly fond of a ring having a topaz gem in a trilliant cut. Satisfied with his idea, he returned his eyes to meet the robot's. "How about you go to the local museum? They've got a jewelry exhibit right now of ancient Soleanna artifacts. Get me a piece or two and I'll be happy to give you some intel." [Yeah, it's basically a ploy to get you involved in the plot at the museum. Are you okay with that? If not, I'm open to suggestions. Also, are you happy with the general course this RP is taking? I feel like I'm dragging this thing along too long.] |

[I'm sorry about not responding, and just general lack of activity. I've been really busy lately, and really tired. As well as LARPing, but that was one day, it just really wore me out. Anyway, yeah this is a good idea, and I think things are moving along just fine.]
"So you want museum artifacts as a payment for this information? That seems a tad... Unreasonable. But if that's the only payment you will accept, then I will retrieve the artifacts." Gamma turned and began walking away, before stopping and spinning his head back to look at the raccoon again. "Where exactly IS this museum? That would be a useful piece of information."[/color] ![]() |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
"Well, it's not the only payment I'd take..." the raccoon said, as he scratched the back of his head. "I would prefer if you just gave me cash, so that we can each finish up our business fast. But if you've got no money, well, a nice jewelry piece from there would work great too. Just meet me back here at the bar later."
The raccoon started to follow Gamma out of the alleyway, but then he did that damn thing with the head twisting around. Even though he'd observed that before in the bar, it still made him reflexively back up a bit and cause his eyes to open wide. It took him a second or two to recover and give the museum's location. "Uh....well, we're in the Old Towne district of the city right now. The museum's not far away." He pointed down the street. While this area looked a bit rough, farther down the road the robot would see trees lining the sidewalks, in addition to colorful banners streaming from one building to another. "This street will take you closer to the more touristy part of the city. You'll come to a big plaza with a large fountain in the middle. The museum's off to one side of that square. It's got a big sign. You can't miss it." |

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
((From hollow brook, sorry guys I am very slow lately))
The dreadful duo took a bit longer then expected to reach the bar. This completely attributed to Relic terrible walk speed. In combat he was capable of closing small gaps with his fantastic leaping and seemingly omnipresent reach of his limbs. Anything farther then a couple meters an it was quite clear speed was not one of Drake's many strengths. Priscilla had taken up a relaxed position on the giant fox's shoulder. leaning her elbow on his head and propping her feet against the base of his chalmail wings. A few of the turn coats found it rather hard to relax, with Relic walking forward and Priscilla looking back, they always had an eye on them. Even if the she-wolf was lost in thought, contemplating spells, reagents, formulas, neighborhood domination. About half a block from the bar, Relic came to a halt. The usual of him restraining a violent twitch. Mostly manifest in the gnashing of his gauntlet. "This is not in the tavern." Priscilla promptly pointed out. Fixing her white dress from riding up her leg. "Look... " As if to greet the group. A man was standing calmly a few meters from the bar. His hands held behind his back, his face obscured by a hood. In fact his whole body was nearly concealed in the leather cloak. "My my my, It is as bad as they said...." Ajax had deiced to meet outside the bar, as the description of Relic in particular made it sound like any scuffle with him in the bar would lead to a lot of property damage. RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
When Nail saw Ajax standing there alone, his head immediately went on a swivel as he started to scan nearby alleyways and windows for the man's helpers. The hybrid didn't believe for an instant that Ajax was totally by himself, and Nail completely expected some gunshots would ring out any second.
For the first time since meeting Relic, Nail purposefully moved closer to the dread knight. If it came down to a gunfight, that monster would make an excellent meat shield. In the meantime, Nail began to whisper to SOLIS. "Can you sense if anyone is hiding nearby? I think we're about to get shot at from one of the windows." |
