RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
"What just happened?"

"Uh..." Giichi nervously chuckled in response to Terrador's question, as he continued searching through the bricks. "It's a...long story. Let's talk about it later. By the way, we may need to start running in a second..."

If Relic gave any indication he was alive down there, Giichi fully intended to run off. He heard the police coming, so maybe they could handle him.

"Hey! Cat!" Giichi's head snapped up at that. Nail? Why was he talking to them? "That guy was my boss! But I hated the guy, so I consider myself freelance now! Mind if we have a little talk?"

His boss? Wow. Fighting him was bad enough. Can't imagine having to be around him for work.

Regardless, the fox/wolf/whateverhewas clearly didn't like the guy, and Giichi couldn't help but let a little smile show. Glad he wasn't the only guy who had run into Relic lately. He felt interested in swapping stories with Nail about that. While Nail had been their enemy before, anyone who was against Relic and Priscilla was Giichi's friend as far as he was concerned.

"Sure! Let's go to the Alfredrick's bar."

He quickly turned around to Terrador.

"Wanna come with me to the bar? I'll tell you about everything there. For now I think it's time to go."

The sirens continued to wail around them.

[Guess you can plot a course to the bar for Nail, SOLIS.]

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
Terrador's attention was directed to the gray canine. It appeared he was formerly their enemy, until he sent whatever it was down with that explosion. That individual was questionable and the echidna would keep a close eye out for him.

"I assume he will be accompanying us?" he asked Giichi while still keeping his focus on the stranger. "Fair enough. I shall join nevertheless. I am ready when you are." he went on. Something was then bothering him, like he was forgetting something. Then a lightbulb went off in his brain. The feline would even see the color drain from Terrador's face as he reached a hand over his shoulder. He rushed various edges of the building and looked down at the streets below. "No, this cannot be." he muttered under his breath. His staff was absent, lost from his battle with the brute. He growled in annoyance for his foolishness. He stood motionless for a few moments before having a revelation.

Terrador began focusing his energy; his 9 markings across his body donning a vibrant green glow and his eyes gradually closing. He focused on the magical bond he shared with his staff. His hands appeared to float upwards and his palms faced outward. Out of nowhere, the very item he lost returned to him and his hands instinctively gripped it confidently. He opened his eyes to see the Baculum Petra in his grasp, which brought a smile to the warrior. He held it by the middle in his left hand as he approached Giichi.

"Okay, now I am ready." he said with a slight chuckle.

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
[sorry for disappearing act, I'm back]

While the battle had raged Am had been communicating with the ship about a very hot button subject. Together they had formulated a plan for observing these Mobians further.

"Am, your time is technically already up. You could shift back at any time."

"I understand but this is the chance we've been waiting for to observe these people." Am said in quietly in the Saurian tongue. "We can't just throw it away".

"if you shift back our cover is blown"

"Not necessarily, this planet is a wash with magic. There is a whole spectrum of sapient species everywhere. I could probably pass myself off as just another one of those species. Hide in plain sight."

"I don't think they'll buy that Am"

"It could work, but I think it would only work if I deactivated my transformation at will. That way it wouldn't look like I'm a spy."

"Am NO! Absolutely not!You can't reactivate it without the transmuter back at the base. Once you do that you realize you can't 'undo' that right?"

"It's probably about to reverse anyways, why not do it on my terms when I can possibly explain my way out of it"

"*sigh* Am this extremely dangerous, a lot of Saurs have put a lot of effort into this. If you're wrong then all that effort will be wasted. Not to mention if they turn on you. Did you see what just happened down there!?"

"It's a gamble for sure, but I'm confident this will work. Then I can walk about freely and establish connections with these people. We'll learn more about them in a few days than in the last few years. Besides, if this goes south you can pick me up and we can scram."

"So you don't want me to leave?"

"No...stick around and close. We may have to get outta here fast"

"what exactly are you going to tell them?"

"I'm gonna show them my true form and then make up some lie about being one the very few left of my kind and we use magic to blend in if they ask. Then we can observe them indefinitely"

"*sigh* I hope you know what you're doing Am. I'll be standing by"

"Please do, keep those engines hot"

Am turned his attention back to the Mobians across the roof from him. Apparently loyalties had changed. Hmm wonder if that was common? Am would have to cautious about who he trusted if loyalties were that fluid here.

"Hey guys! If you don't mind I think I'll tag along with you too. But there's something I need to show you first. If we're going to be allies I suppose having a secret like I've got isn't such a good idea. I'd like to avoid being shot it at all possible."

[When you see this, post in the new topic at Alfredrick's. Don't post here. I'm only putting this here to make for a smoother transition, taking in mind Echo's post.]

Giichi couldn't help but get a little agitated when Am decided now was the right time to reveal something.

"Sorry Am, but you'll have to wait! The cops are coming! Unless your secret is you can make police magically disappear, we need to get out of here first! Meet us at the Alfredrick's bar!"

And with that, Giichi took off running for the stairs as he waved for Terrador to follow. He would have asked Am to join them, but the Ferrari was only a two-seater.

---

Meanwhile, Nail made his way down the stairs on his own building, as he consulted SOLIS for directions to the Alfredrick's bar. Surely it had a built-in GPS map or something to help him out...

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
I park my police car at the Rum Valley Bar. I look at the damage and it is catastrophic. It looks abandoned. The doors are in damage. Several of the bar is either in ruins or is close to be in ruins. It is in terrible shape. Very terrible shape.

I see the damage from outside for a minute and I don't like what I see. I walk inside and see the damage even further. I breathe for a moment and look around. The front area of the bar has chairs that are bent or even brutally in ruin. A battle did take place here and its true without a doubt.

I look up for a second and see some bricks ready to fall from a monstrous weight. There's also other things in the next floor above me where there isn't even a roof. For now, I decide to explore the first floor

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
I take out a camera to take a picture of the evidence. I stand back far enough to take a picture of the chairs in ruins. I search along the tables and other chairs for regular bar members who might very well be hungry. I see a TV that is in ruins, but clearly still works. I turn back to where the bar keep is and take a picture of it. It appears like some of the bottles might be in ruins as well.

I walk to the windows and check the glass. The glass appears to be in ruins as well. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot noteworthy on the first floor. However, I need to make sure that I don't miss anything. I see a door that leads to the next room. I mark it with crime scene tape. However, I don't go inside just yet. I walk toward the walls and I feel for the damage. I take a picture of any imperfection in the brick walls.

I check around the inside of the bar stall where the broken bottles are to see if a bartender is behind there. I equip my laser and get ready for the worst. As soon as I check with my laser at the ready, I don't see anyone there. After a few other things, I prepare to enter the door that I did mark with the crime scene tape.

I open the door and keep my laser at the ready. I check my blind spots and I don't see anything in here either. It appears to be a kitchen that is in working order. I see a sign on the far right corner of the kitchen. It says "Thieves Rule, Cops Suck." I immediately walk out of this room without any further investigation and go to the second floor. I keep my laser at the ready.

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
As I walk up the steps, my heart pounds. With every step I take, I sweat. I know that its empty in here. I know its empty in the bar. However, I know that it might not be the case with the second floor. Its clear as I walk up the steps that the steps do have damage. One misstep will spell my doom. If not my doom, then it will hurt me.

I want to look down at the steps. However, I know that at any moment there might be something there to surprise me if I'm not ready. The steps alone are jagged and ready to fall. I know that I'm not that heavy, yet I can't brush off this feeling of dread. I feel the steps scrape against my feet. Its like the dish of fries that the cook didn't cook right. My body trembles as I walk up the steps.

I know without a doubt, because of that sign, that this is a bar that once was reserved for criminals. It destroys me to a high degree to even be in here. I can sense that I get closer to the top of the steps of the second floor. For every step that I take, I feel cracks in the steps. It scares me to death and it scares me even more that I will have to walk down the steps as well. My heart pounds like crazy.

I can see my goal. I begin to smile, despite my fear. When I reach the top of the steps, my heart still pounds like crazy. However, I finally feel safe and calm that I did reach the top. The only terror that awaits now is whatever is on the second floor.

I am a cop, if you break the law you better watch out. Don't mind my avatar, I don't draw that well.

RE: Rum Valley bar (Thieves meet up)
I check for any blind spots and I make sure that there isn't anyone behind me. There doesn't appear to be any threats in this particular section. It seems safe from what I can tell.

As I look around, yet keep my current position in the bar, I can see that the second floor is more or less a meeting room for the thieves. It doesn't bother me that much. It also looks like there's some pool tables, some cue sticks and some other things. Despite being a meeting room, it does also appear like food would be served in this particular area.

From the looks of things in my current position, it appears that the second floor is in the worst shape of all. It makes the ruin in floor one look just like another typical day. It is a lot to take in and it is something I think is more than worth it to explore. I don't seek the need to move just yet. I take in the scenery first and I take it all in stride.

Even in some areas of floor two it appears that several bricks where the floor was once is gone now. I don't know what to do next. I just know that I will prepare myself to investigate this floor. I take my first step.

I am a cop, if you break the law you better watch out. Don't mind my avatar, I don't draw that well.
