RE: Hydrocity Zone
Omega struggled against the sudden change int current, grasping in vain for anything to hold on to. He made a weak attempt to reach the surface for air, but just couldn't make it before being swept away.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
[Skipping over Knuckles again due to absence rule]

After a quick tube ride, all of the occupants would find themselves being hurled out of a hole into the wall, and landing in a shallow pool. The depth of the water would be just high enough for everyone to stand up to their upper chest in the water.

After a harsh bump on the pool's floor, the cat and otter rapidly stood up, wiping the water out of their faces and blinking to get their vision back.

"This place even has a kiddie pool?"
the otter muttered.

"Who cares?!" the cat shouted, as she moved to a stand. "They're right behind us! We've got to go!"

The otter knew that...but the exit to the Launch Base zone wasn't far away from here. He had to make absolutely sure that he'd lost their trail before he left this place. They couldn't let Sonic find the base of operations this early in the game.

"What's that?!" the cat said, pointing off into the distance.

The otter squinted, trying to see it. It looked like some sort of large egg capsule type thing, with a yellow plunger on top. Robotnik emblems covered it as well. Whatever was in the capsule had long since escaped, since the entire middle section of the egg was ruptured open. The bottom portion looked like it had been in the water for a long time, since it was all rusted over.

"I don't know. We need to go. Take my hand again, and this time don't choke up."

Grumbling, the cat held her hand out as the otter rapidly swam over in the shallow water.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
(ssry. life+writers blocks=no good)

At one point the hedgehog’s grip slipped, just as the water had began to slow down. He was whisked right into the small pool of water and hit the ground with a thud. He sat there, with a miserable look on his face as he was soaking-wet; his ears went down, very close to his head. He saw in front of him a short distance away from the old holding capsule that he had busted open a long time ago.

“Thank goodness this is almost over…” The hedgehog said aloud as he got straight back off and followed the two at his amazing speed-

--If it wasn’t for the water slowing down.

He growled in complete aggravation, as each step felt like he had cement shoes on. If he could JUST keep up with them, just enough to when they got to dry land then SURELY he’d be able to nab them both. They were obvious up to something, something that they didn’t want him to know. And it smelt like the plans of an over-grown eggplant with horrible eating habits.

Seeing that he was beginning to lag too far behind, he gritted his teeth. He needed to speed up, and fast; and there was only one way he knew to do it. He quickly curled up into a ball and began to spin. He stayed in once places, as though he was revving himself up; water spraying behind him furiously. And then all at once he let go. While he may have not gone as fast as he would on dry land, it was still good enough to keep up with the two thieves.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
[Skipping Alpha and Knuckles due to absence rule and getting word from Rose that Magnus is taking indefinite leave from the board.]

The otter's pace went up a bit, as he glanced behind him when he heard Sonic splash down after them. But a smile followed that when he saw the water slowing down the hedgehog yet again. He returned to the task of escaping, as he dragged along the cat.

But when he heard Sonic revving up for a spin dash, the smile dropped from his face as he glanced over his shoulder again. The frown turned into an outright gasp as the hedgehog went ahead and did his spindash to keep up. It wasn't fast, but both of them were basically caught now if he didn't do something.

So he released his grip on the cat's hand. Now free of the burden, he swam through the shallow water at lightning quick speed, easily outrunning Sonic's sudden burst of speed with the water's help.

"Hey you #######! Don't leave me! PLEASE!"

The otter completely ignored her cries, as he left her to her fate. He had the intel on him with the waterproofed laptop, and only one of them needed to deliver it. Might as well be him, and plus he wouldn't have to split the reward either. The otter wondered why he hadn't just done this from the start. It would have made things much easier. This was the Thieves' Guild after all, and he completely understood what honor meant amongst thieves...

---

"Damn you!" the cat screamed, as she slowly thrashed through the water, trying to keep up. But try as she might, she'd be easy prey for Sonic to catch after that little speed boost. It would not be long before Bad Blue would finally take down one of the thieves.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
With his speed boost and the cat’s flopping around in the water, He easily caught up with her, speeding past here and stopping dead. The water may have been annoying, but it was certainly helping him now for his brakes. He turned around somewhat suavely and placed his hand up in the air as though he was wavering. His grin was mischievous as he closed his eyes for a brief second as he looked mockingly happy.

“Hey, wazzup?” He said cheerily.

He put his hand and opened his eyes as folded his arms; his grin still painted on his face.

“What was all of that stuff just know? You and you’re friend were in a hurry. Well, if he –is- your friend. He’s pretty crappy one if he actually is.”

RE: Hydrocity Zone
Omega sputtered and coughed, sitting up in the shallow pool after having blacked out in the tube from a lack of air. He stood up, spitting out a bunch of water, and taking in deep lungfuls of air, catching his breath. With how shaky he currently was, he had no chance of catching up to Sonic or the otter. He managed to slide one of the remaining rings off his fingers, this one a dull silvery color, since it was almost drained of its power. He lowered it to the surface of the water, nearly dropping it several times due to coughing fits. He expanded it a bit, enough to sit on, and shot himself forward to Sonic, stopping beside him.

"What should I do? I really can't see the other guy anymore..." he said, coughing a bit between words.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
[Since I heard from Rose that Magnus is on indefinite leave, we will proceed as if Knuckles is no longer in the topic.]

The cat didn't respond to Sonic's inquiry at first. She only stood stock still, staring at Sonic as if hypnotized. The cat could only think about what this meant for her now.

It's over, it's all over. I'm caught. Oh, you stupid otter, why did you have to insist on this shortcut? If you hadn't done that, they would have never found us! Why? WHY? If I get the chance, I'm going to slit your throat in the night the next time we meet.

Growling, she decided to use her thirst for vengeance to drive her onwards.

"No concern of yours what we're doing, Sonic. I'm getting out of here, and you two aren't going to stop me!"

Since she knew she couldn't outrun them, her only option now would be to fight them.

Hah, like you'll succeed where the fatman and his entire army has failed countless times?

All the same, she had to try. Gritting her teeth, both from the cold, wet water and this confrontation, she waded as fast as she could towards the old egg animal container, while keeping an eye on the pair.

---

"Ah...finally! I found it!"

After exiting the large, shallow pool on the other side, the otter quickly got out of sight as fast as he could. It wasn't long before he found the water tunnel they'd been seeking. Above it, in echidna script, he saw written "Great Crater Lake". That was the old name for the place before Robotnik took it over for his old based, and now it would be where he'd meet with his forces.

Smiling, he jumped into the water and continued to swim downstream. The otter could already taste the cold, hard cash coming his way.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
Sonic blinked in bemusement and watched he run in a different direction.

“Don’t sweat it, just chill. I’ll handle this.”

He curled up into speed-dash position again, and zoomed forward in the cat’s direction. Once again, he would dash forward (spraying water everywhere all the way) and stop again right in front of her. His arms were folded across his chest; his left hand sticking out with his index finger waved back and forth.

“ You seemed pretty sure about your last sentence. Maybe you forgot what you’re dealing with here, eh?” He closed his eyes as his head tilted up a bit. “-I’msure we can all put this behind us if you just say sorry and tell us what’s going on, yeah?”

RE: Hydrocity Zone
Omega lifted his arms in front of his face to help block some of the spray Sonic's spin dash generated, then chuckled to himself as the cat was cut off again. He pushed himself after them both, and floated behind the cat, cutting off another escape even further, or so he hoped.

RE: Hydrocity Zone
The cat growled as Sonic got in her way yet again. She felt foolish for even trying to walk away. Maybe she only did it because it was the first thing that came to mind.

So what other options do I have? Maybe I can stall...

The cat sheathed her daggers, and simply crossed her arms, frowning at the two of them. This was going to be annoying, but for the moment she figured it'd be best to simply wait for the situation to improve.

"Fine. I won't try running. But I'm not saying anything either."

For the time being, she slowly walked past Sonic without making any threatening or sudden moves, and hopped on top of the egg capsule to dry off. As she did this, she squeezed her clothes and did her best to get rid of all the water. By this time she'd been wet so much she'd kind of gotten used to it, although not really.

Sonic is a good guy, and I'm presuming his new friend is too. So I don't think they'd resort to any underhanded methods to get me to talk. Not to mention I bet they're not interested in dragging a captive around. They'll have to leave here eventually...
