Manic the Hedgehog
[Still waiting for the posting approval on my Manic account. Mind as well get to work on the profile]
Name: Manic Age: 16 Gender: Male Species: Hedgehog Family: A serrogate father named Ferrel. Alignment: Mainly neutral, but likes to play hero sometimes. Appearance Manic's fur is lime green. His muzzle, belly, and arms are bare. He wears a pale, orange vest on his torso area. His hands are covered by black, fingerless gloves and spike bands, while his feet are sheltered by red, Converse-esque sneakers. The most noticable feature of Manic is his top quill, which is shaggy and spiked, topping off the rocker look. The only accessories to his wardrobe are two, small, golden rings pierced in his left ear and the medallion worn around his neck. This medallion is all Manic has left of his real parents. Engraved on it is a musical note. It may not look like much, but it hides strong magical powers. Personality Manic is a layed back, fun-loving, social kind of guy. He can be your best friend or your not-so-great enemy. However, this somewhat perfect attitude disappears when he is thieving, breaking/entering, ect. When in combat, Manic likes to taunt his enemies. If there is one thing in life that Manic enjoys, it's music especially rock n' roll. If he can find a beat, he will not hesitate to improve it, dance to it, or even get everyone jumping. It's his livelihood and proud of it. If Manic's not dancing or thieving, the wild hedgehog sees himself as a ladies man. If he sees a pair of pretty eyes or a nice, fuzzy tail, he will go for it! A few cliched lines here and there will make for a giggle or two, but he usually ends up getting rejected. History Manic was born to a hedgehog couple in the prestigeous Capitol City. When he was only three weeks old, the young hedgehog was stolen from his parents by a common thief named Ferrel. Ferrel was an old grey fox. He thought that stealing a child would elevate his reputation. It would do more than that. It would give him a son. The fox thief became Manic's new father, and taught the young hog the stealthy ways of the thief. Manic excelled in lockpicking and breaking/entering. Computer hacking was a bit more difficult. It just wasn't his thing. Around the age of six, Manic discovered a love for music. He would wonder around Ferrel's hideout, looking for junk to bang, clink, or strum. A natural one man band! Ferrel was amused by this and supported his "son's" hobby. He even stole an expensive drum set for the little one. As time moved on, Manic got better and better, becoming an accomplished drummer. At the age of ten, Ferrel felt that it was time for Manic's first real robbery. The two travelled to Station Square, where the targetted object was being held in its museum. Manic carefully broke into the establishment and unlocked the front door for Ferrel. After dodging security cams and nightshift guards, they came upon the object they were looking for. It was an old tribal mask that belonged to the long exstinct echidna civilization. It was worth thousands. Ferrel was about to retrieve it when Manic accidentally tripped a laser wire. To were quick to escape, mask in hand. Once back home, Ferrel wasn't mad. He was proud of Manic for doing well for the majority of the heist. Four years later, Ferrel's hideout was stormed by local law enforcement. After extensive investigation, Capitol City detectives had finally found his lair. Manic, who did not know what to do, hid behind a pile of stolen merchandise. While being cuffed, Ferrel turned toward his "son" and smiled. That sly smile told Manic that Ferrel would be fine. Now on his own, Manic became a freelance traveller, trekking to new places, doing a little thieving here and there. He kept his beloved drum set in an Infinity Cube, a small, metal box which could hold a limited ammount of objects (about as much as the average moving van). Ferrel had stolen this from a GUN testing lab. The cube was a prototype, explaining why the name didn't fit the device. It was one of the many items that were left behind at the hideout. That very same year, the ordeal with Chaos happened. Once Station Square was unflooded, Manic went out of his way to loot whatever was not destroyed. Although the city was rebuilding, the law had not ceased on its duties. One day Manic was rummaging through some newly shipped hardware and a nosy police officer had caught him in the act. The hedgehog ran, two officers on his tail. As he was running he passed his parents, but he didn't notice them, nor did he have the time to. ![]() Manic turned fifteen and he still lived his life as a journeyman. Adopting a new rocker look, he decided to put his musical talents to work. Stealing food was getting tiresome. Once in Radical City, he unloaded his drum set and began to play. Bringing out a few fresh beats, people began to gather and enjoy this stranger of a drummer. Manic felt good about himself. Suddenly, his medallion began to glow. A blast shot out of it, beautiful and multi-colored. Along with Manic's drumming, new sounds began to form out of the medallion's energy. Combining it all created a hip groove throughout the streets of Radical. Manic's vest was full of cash within minutes. With GUN storming the streets and everyone panicking about Space Colony ARK and Eggman's latest scheme, Manic felt the urge to loot again. However, this time he did not. Instead he used some of his money to buy some food and supplies for his journey. A year has passed since then. Manic is now sixteen. A creative mind in a dark world with the constant temptation to be a part of that darkness. He travels everywhere, helping those who need it, entertaining those who want it, and robbing those who he feels deserve it. Evading Sarath's extermination squads isn't easy, but it's safe to say he can manage. Abilities Stealth: Thanks to Ferrel, Manic is pretty stealthy. However, this is only during a robbery. Never once has he given up the thrill of facing an opponent to an easy sneak attack. Limber and agile, Manic is a natural when it comes to sneaking around in the shadows. Only problem, light colored fur! Lockpicking: Another skill for the common thief. Manic's best skill in the art of stealth. He always carries at least two picks in his vest pocket. This skill is not always used for robbery. Computer Hacking: Not Manic's best skill, but a skill none the less. Not all doors can be opened with a lockpick. Manic's prowess at hacking is only good enough to get past a level 2 security code. Manic the Musician: Manic has a gift for music, especially the drums. This skill can be used to entertain and attack. Manic's magical medallion has supernatural properties that have to do with music. Combat Skills Other than average hand to hand combat, Manic has a few tricks up his sleeve. The Medallion: Manic's medallion has supernatural powers. Focusing on the fighting spirit or happiness of its user, the medallion can use different magical, musical attacks. 'Deaf' Jam: With the medallion sending a shockwave around the immediate area, this attack temporarely deafens enemies and give them a strong headache. It's more of a diversion tactic than an assult. The Vocal Melody: The medallion sends out a screeching sonar that levitates enemies to an acceptable height, eventually dropping them. This is used more often to immobilize attackers instead of harming them. The Bass Melody: The medallion sends out a low, booming sound that makes enemies slow and sluggish. Once again, to immobilize. The Guitar Melody: The medallion sends out a fast, high-note riff that blows opponents away (or knocks back). The Drum Melody: The medallion temporarely elevates Manic's strength. As a humorous feature, every time Manic hits, a drum noise is made. Strengths Can Swim. ;P A musical wizard. Great thief. Agile, somewhat fast. Weaknesses Pretty girls. XD Computer skills. Not exactly the strongest in hand to hand combat. Stands out in a crowd. Not good when running from the law. |
