RE: Launch Base Zone
[I may regret doing this, but I feel like I plowed through everything else easily and caused a major problems; so I feel like it’s time for the opposite end of the karma scale. Also as a side note, if Gerald’s bow is magic which warrants it indestructible. Lest he be out of a weapon and powers.]
He didn’t have any time to go on the offensive as he quickly ran out of the way of the fire balls that shot near him. But his run was stopped very short as the fireball shot broke the already broken catwalk before; the whole one side began to tip downwards on the heaviest end. Gerald found himself falling, and in a panic to grab ahold of something he let go of the bow. He held tight to one of the railings, shutting his eyes hard as he grabbed on to dear life as his body hung there. The only thing between him and the floor was his arms; everything else hung there in the wide open. He was now absolutely helpless. He opened his eyes slowly, his heart racing as he heard his weapon make a distinctive sound as the wood hit and bounce onto the metal floor below. He glanced down to see where it was but his eyes had a meeting with horror-land. If his face was fearful before, then how to describe his look was something beyond that. He went pale, and found himself stopping his breath. While he may have been hanging from a catwalk some numbers of feet from the floor in reality, in Horror-Land he was hanging from a catwalk with a large, blackest of black old coal furnace underneath him. The flames where leaping out at him and what looked to be a human in the furnace, scaled size to it, with charred, bloody melting skin was reaching it’s hand out towards him. “NONONONONO!!!” Gerald shouted out, as he looked back up. He hand lifted his legs, trying to get them out of reach of the hideous thing that was plaguing him. He started to claw his way up, only managing to get his chest up onto the catwalk’s surface. “ IT WASN’T MY FAULT!!!” He shouted defensively, desperately trying to get away. At this point the entire situation with Robtonik had completely left his mind. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
The doctor rather enjoyed watching Chadin stumble about in front of him, since it looked like he'd taken a rather delightful and painful hit on the head. Alas though, it had to end. The doctor moved his hand to the button to activate the flamethrowers again.
"You're done now!" Robotnik bellowed over the loudspeaker, as he grinned with sadistic glee. "I've got thirty million BTUs here...just waiting for the chance to roast me some-- EEP!!" That was the pathetic little sound Robotnik made when Chadin's knife hit dead center on his windshield and embedded itself halfway through the glass. The part of the blade sticking inside his cockpit pointed directly between the doctor's eyes. In response, Robotnik shrunk back in his seat as far as he could, with his head sticking out of his shirt with only his glasses exposed. He rather looked like a turtle with its head sticking only halfway out of its shell in nervousness. Robo actually paused to touch the knife for a second, as if sure this wasn't real. No doubt this would give Chadin enough time to go run and hide again. When Robotnik would return his attention to the deer, he'd see that his prey had gone and run off again. "Oh..." he muttered, as he shook his head. "Not this again. Hey you Buzz Bombers, some of you get down here and flush him back out again, already. I'm getting tired of this cat and mouse game." --- Some of the Buzz Bombers up above complied and flew back down to assist in the search. Meanwhile, it would seem those that stayed up above were waiting for Gerald to regain his footing before they resumed fire. Clearly Robotnik didn't want Gerald to die if he could avoid it, and they figured a hit while Gerald hung for dear life would surely cause him to fall to his death. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
Rolling away once I'd released the knife, I had to snicker when I heard Robotnik's cowardly shriek. And since I wasn't already flame roasted, I guess my distraction worked. Of course, now I didn't have my knife. I'd have to work on getting that back now. Which means getting close. Joy.
Still, I dragged myself as fast as I could away from Robotnik and slipped underneath some pipes running the length of the corridor. I had no idea what purpose they served, but all that mattered was that I had a hiding spot for a few moments; if only to catch my breath. Thankfully, Robotnik was left stunned for quite some time. More than enough from me to reach the pipes before he called out to his Buzz-Bombers to start searching for me. That could wait. First I had to check on my ankle. Rubbing the joint yielded a scathing, burning ache. But as I worked my hoof-like finger tips into the skin, I couldn't feel anything broken. It hurt like heck, but I felt pretty confident I could walk it off. Or run it off in this case since I greatly doubt I'd be doing anything less. While I was tending to my ankle, my ears twitched at a strange sound. Poking my head out from under the pipes ever so cautiously, I couldn't believe my eyes. "Gerald?! What's he doing here?" It wasn't his presence itself that left me baffled, it was the fact that he was hanging for dear life from a destroyed catwalk while Buzz-Bombers hovered around him. If it wasn't for the overpowering sense of confusion, my blood would have boiled at seeing his traitorous hide. But something didn't add up. Unfortunately, I did not have time to worry about him right now. I had bigger things to worry about. "First the fat-man, then you...!" I promised myself with a venomous gaze. Pulling my crossbow from my shoulder, I pumped a fresh shot into the chamber. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
With the fear of a fate worse than death, Gerald tried to get himself back onto some kind of solid ground. He didn’t even hear the ghostly moan coming from what was ever left from the catwalk. He managed to even get a foot up onto the catwalk, until it was obvious by the groans that the catwalk couldn’t sustain his wait.
The catwalk broke even more, sending Gerald down again as he found himself back in the same place, but now holding onto the railing with only one hand. As he gripped for dear life he looked up onto the catwalk to see that it was now in such an angle that there was no hope from him to be able to stand on it. He looked over towards the Buzz Bombers who where just flying over one place. They gave him an idea, admitingly a crazy one. Those things where made out of metal and could sustain themselves like bumble bees (which lead him subconsciously to a question of whether or not Robotnik found out the mystery physics behind how they could even fly) despite being made of a heavy material. Now they obviously couldn’t fly him down gently if he was to hold onto one of them, but it could soften the blow of landing. So that he might be injured but not dead. He held out his hands toward them. “H-Hey! Unless you want to become scrap-metal because you caused me to fall to my death, get over here! I –need- one of you to get down. Maybe even two of you. I dunno…just…umm…a thought….” He looked up as he heard another groan. The next time the catwalk breaks, it could be completely. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
The Buzz Bombers descended rapidly, heading to scan the area around Chadin's last known direction of travel. However, since they were a bit high up, they'd have trouble seeing Chadin for the moment since he was down low under the pipes. But it would be inevitable before he'd be seen.
--- Meanwhile, Robotnik had found a discarded piece of cloth in the cockpit and had it wrapped around the blade of Chadin's knife. The doctor didn't like the idea of a very sharp blade pointing at him for the rest of this fight, even if it was stationary. If the glass broke, who knew what the blade would fall on? The doctor shivered, as he didn't want to think about the possibilities. He grunted as he jiggled the blade around, but since he couldn't apply too much pressure without getting cut it was slow work. Not to mention this windscreen had taken critical damage and the spiderwebs made it very hard to see. Why did he always have to put a clear glass bubble on these things anyway? Grunting, he continued his work and thought he was finally getting it loose. Then there was an alert and video feed from one of his Buzz Bombers up above. The video showed a feed of Gerald being stuck and dangling by a thread high up above the floor. "Dr. Robotnik... Gerald's state is critical. Should I save him? You said you wanted him alive." Even though Gerald was opposing him right now, the doctor really didn't want him to die. Without a second, he issued his orders. "Yes! Save him! Get him down from there, and after you're done, make sure he's restrained this time! I don't want him getting loose a second time!" --- Above, one of the Buzz Bombers approached, extending out its cannon on its underside. But instead of firing at Gerald, it bowed a couple of times, as if it wanted Gerald to look down. When Gerald would do this, the Buzz Bomber would stick it's cannon into the back of the human's shirt to hold him up, like a coat hangar. Then he would drop him off on the nearest catwalk. All the same, a few other SWATbots and Buzz Bombers hung around to make sure Gerald didn't try anything funny. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
My ears again twitched, this time picking up the sound of the roving Buzz-Bombers searching overhead. It wouldn't take long for them to find me. I'd have to thin them out a bit if I wanted to keep up this shoot and scoot tactic.
On the other hand. I'm already facing overwhelming numbers. The longer I draw this fight out, the more reinforcements Robotnik will call in. He as hundreds of the blasted things, I'm only one me. If I want any hope of beating him, I had to act fast, and now. It was risky to be sure. I'd draw fire from every direction if I tried a direct approach. Then again... maybe drawing fire could work to my advantage... and I needed to get my knife back anyway. I waited for the closest Buzz-Bomber to fly past, giving me a chance to crawl out from under the pipes and work some weight onto my tender ankle. I cringed with pain, but with my adrenaline pumping harder in anticipation, I wouldn't notice it for long. I bolted for one of the vats close to where Robotnik was hovering. I climbed up the vat's support braces as quickly as I could and suddenly found myself standing on the roughly one foot wide lip. The molten metal, while significantly cooled by the sprinklers still boiled menacingly through the cracks in the upper layer of slag. It would still be enough to char the flesh off me if I fell in, but under the circumstances, it was a risk I needed to take. I needed altitude. I ran as quickly as I dared to reach Robotnik's ship hovering on the opposite side. If any Buzz-Bombers spotted me, I didn't pay any notice, I just focused on one thing: Jumping aboard Robotnik's ship and giving him a little 'quality time' with my fist. I didn't notice, but my intense focus and determination ignited a fire inside me. My scars began to glow. I leapt for Robotnik's ship, reaching out to grab hold of a ridge of metal above Robotnik's window where I could from there grab my knife back. "Thanks for holding onto this for me, Egg-head. I'll take that back now, thanks! Now hold still, you won't feel a thing, yet!" I said as I reached out to pull my knife out of the glass. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
As soon as Gerald landed he couldn’t help but look up at the SWATbots like a child that’s just got caught red handed. He hated to have called upon the enemy for help, but he wasn’t too fond of dying at the momment. Gerald kicked himself mentally for it, gritting his teeth and looking to the side. He’d been completely fool-hardy with the entire situation, as well as being an absolute coward. As he swallowed, he felt much like a drenched cat as he looked over towards the battle scene. He stared with bafflement as he saw Chadin jump onto the machine’s windshield.
The entire sight made him feel even more ashamed at his lake of courage and also at the same time worried immensely for his friend. He didn’t have the foggiest clue as to what to do. The only defense for him was now lying somewhere on the ground where he couldn’t possible reach; and there was no way he could get away from the robots this time. He’d be shot down and stunned, dragged off to who knows where and who knows what that manic will do…. There was a part of him that had lost all hope, just as it suddenly realized the weight of the entire situation. Did all of this even matter anymore? Not only has he been caught, but he’d just got a glimpse of what his family was to become; stigmatized by one mad man who appeared to be the only one left. But to drive the nail further this man was fueled by his own actions; inspired by his dear grandfather. There was a kind of bitter-sweet irony to it all that made the blow sting like alcohol on a wound. ‘No,’ he thought to himself as he stared at the floor, ‘Even if everything here is theoretically my fault….I can’t just give up now. I need to at least stop this man before…well…anything else…’ Looking back up and over to the side, he turned his body and faced the battle. His hands clenched onto the hand rails. He could only think of one thing to do, and he prayed that he could channel his wife just a little to get the job done. “You absolute, rotting EGG!” Gerald yelled out angrily. He felt weird about being so frontally aggressive; and it possible sounded that way as well. “ How DARE you call yourself my grandson! You’re just an over-glorified bully, you fat walrus! You think that just because you can make a few fancy robots, it makes you a genius?!” He stuffed, letting out a huff before folding his arms. He’d continue his loud rant (hopefully that Robtonik could of heard). “ I should disown you!” Clarice would have most likely given him a four for that entire speech he gathered, most likely writing an A on his forehead for good effort. He wasn’t too good at this name calling thing, but perhaps coming from him it might hit him where it hurts. [OOC: If stickers like the ones you get at school had been invited, Clarice would have stuck a bunch of them to his forehead for effort. But since I highly doubt it, I replaced it with writing an A. I'm sure she could do it with paint. ....possible lead-filled paint.] |

RE: Launch Base Zone
[once again, if there's a problems just tell me and I shall change. Since the last her was here, it only makes sense that she's now here. So It should be known that Robotnik still thinks the old Rose is around without realizing that she fell into a temperal rift and this Rose came out to replace her. FYW~]
Quote:-------“ I should disown you!” ”Well that’s not very nice~!” Within the confines of the Control Room, Rose’s eyes began to water as she looked fairly distressed at the monitor. Her hands were clasped together with her umbrella hanging on her left arm, where here elbow wads bent. “ How could that mean man say that about my dear little Ivo~!” Snively, who sat in the chair in front of the system’s keyboard, gave a small grunt of annoyance, as his fingers drummed against eachother. The entire situation on the floor was a complete mess. They had only gotten to the computer room a little while ago, during the time that the sprinklers had gone off. He was quite surprised when the SWATbots didn’t recognize him, but let the woman next to him stroll right in. Heck, she had to give him clearance. The absolute NERVE of the situation…. And within the span of finding out what was going on, Robotnik was what looked to be a loseing fight with a deer, someone was shouting about disowning, and to make matters worse as he switched the camera and gave out a sharp gasp; Sonic was right on there’re doorstep. Oh, and along with one of the Chaotix and a few un-seen Freedom Fighters. “ Mmm, this is not good.” Snively began, as he turned around in the chair to the SWATbots who were in the second and third command seat. He could have rung up his uncle on his own; but considering that the robots didn’t seem to know who he was, he figured Robotnik didn't know either. In fact the journal entries said otherwise. So he thought it best to let the SWATbots handle it. “Swatbots, tell Dr. Robotnik that the hedgehog is here.” He stated quite clearly. “Request Denied, no one has given you authority to make orders.” One of the SWATbots replied. Snively growled under his breath as he placed his hand over his face. Right, if the robots didn’t even know who he was, then he couldn’t give orders either. Great. “Now, now Mister Swatbot,” Rose began as she turned around to face them. “Do what Colin says and warn Ivo dear about that nasty hedgehog and his group of friends out around the ruins.” The SWATbot turned back around towards it’s consol and sent the warning to Robotnik on his Intercom. “Lord Robotnik; Hedgehog spotted in the ruins, along with other Freedom Fighters.” “Come Colin dear,” She said as she held our her right arm. “We need to go and help your dear uncle now.” He grumbled under his breathe incoherently in annoyance. He wasn’t too fond of her liking of etiquette, nor the use of his real name. 'Snively' may have been demeaning, but it wasn’t his fathers name at least. It was something of his own rather than having his father’s ego strung over him. He held out his arm reluctantly as he got out of his seat to stand; her arm overlapping his in a very, dainty fashion. As soon as everything had been set they both began to walk out of the door, Rose leading him rather than the other way around. “Yes, of course.” he replied back, though he didn’t know what he could do without any tools or authority. He’d suppose he would have to wait and see till they made it to the room. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
As Robotnik scanned the area in front of his ship for that blasted deer, a rather Captain Obvious message came over the intercom from one of the SWATbots.
“Lord Robotnik; Hedgehog spotted in the ruins, along with other Freedom Fighters.” That let the little rage gently bubbling inside Robotnik boil over. He grabbed the intercom and held it right up to his screaming mouth, with steam almost boiling out of his ears. The SWATbot on the other end actually reared his head back a bit from his intercom. "So what?! I knew Sonic was here hours ago! Just keep him and his friends from getting inside! I need to deal with this deer first!" He thought he heard some random screaming up above, and looked up. Looked like the Buzz Bombers had done their job and recaptured Gerald. Funny how his older creations seemed to be a lot better at their job than his SWATbots. They'd taken Gerald down in under a minute while the SWATbots couldn't do it in five or ten. Sadly for Gerald, this wasn't Kittehranger where you could have a casual conversation with someone on a skyscraper rooftop while you were on the ground, so the doctor didn't catch much of it. He thought he heard "walrus" and "egg" and other random insults, but the doctor paid it little mind. One problem was dealt with and he had to deal with the-- "WHAT?!" Suddenly...the deer was hanging off of his death machine, grinning at him like an idiot through the glass as he spoke. Come to think of it the doctor DID feel like an idiot for allowing his enemy to get this close to him. He had a feeling of deja-vu...back when Sonic had jumped on his egg pod after the battle in Soleanna. Speaking of old memories...he observed that Chadin appeared to be glowing again, like he'd done when Robotnik was about to roboticize him so long ago. But like last time...the deer didn't appear to be aware that he was glowing. Why was that? "Thanks for holding onto this for me, Egg-head. I'll take that back now, thanks! Now hold still, you won't feel a thing, yet!" In the face of danger from that glowing, Robotnik decided he'd try to keep his cool. He merely smirked and returned with a little quip of his own. "I think you're the one who should worry about holding still. I've got the seatbelt!" And with that his death machine began rising higher up above the floor, to where Chadin couldn't safely jump off without getting hurt. Then Chadin would notice that Robotnik was starting to slowly tilt the ship forward...which would of course make it harder for him to hang on. |

RE: Launch Base Zone
After I yanking my knife out of Robotnik's windshield, I reared back and started pounding away at the glass canopy, stabbing wildly at the glass.
"I think you're the one who should worry about holding still. I've got the seatbelt!" All while Robotnik's machine rose higher I stabbed away at the glass, hoping to create an opening I could exploit before Robotnik did something to try and throw me off. And since he said it out loud, I knew that was what he was going to try and do, hence the furious stabbing. As Robotnik started to tip the ship forward, I slammed my knife into the metal roof and used that and whatever hand-holds I could to pull myself forward to keep from falling. The adrenaline was absolutely pumping through my system now. I was so focused on the fight now, that the glow of my scars were becoming even more luminescent. The white of my eyes were starting to take on a glow of their own, though my pupils were still plainly visible. |
