RE: On the road to knothole
I grinned from Vanessa's crack about being like a little brother. "Hah! That'll be the day. You may know about city life, but I doubt you'd last a minute in the woods all by yourself; and considering that's exactly where we're going you might be in trouble there."
Knowing anything about this gang didn't really strike me as anything that might prove useful to the Freedom Fighters struggles against Robotnik, but nevertheless my curiosity was piqued. "But incidently, what exactly does this... gang of yours do anyway? Besides fighting I mean?" |

RE: On the road to knothole
After getting his bearings, as well as placing his glasses back on, he continued his tired walk forward. He almost ran into Vannessa as she back peddled, but since he was paying attention to where he was going he got out of the way just in time.
The two looked...interesting, other than the "walking-talking animals" bit. The clothes they wore seemed radically different, which all the more made him feel as though he was flung into a movie serial. But, once getting over that fact, he would speak up; sounding very awkward, and confused. "Um, Excuse me,...sir" he started off, somewhat embarrassingly (though politely), " I'm a bit....lost. I was wondering if you could,...um help me?" Lost was an understatement, but he didn't know what else to say. 'Excuse me, could you please tell me why my university is abandoned and aged and why they're animal-like human creature; like yourselves' didn't seem like a good way to start off a conversation. Nor was it a polite way. |

Vanessa turned around. "Help ya? With what? Are you lost?" The cat had a concerned tone, the only thing stopping people from thinking she was being mean and sarcastic. "Glow-face, do you think he is lost?"

RE: On the road to knothole
"Considering he just told us he's lost, than yes, I'd say so." I pointed out with a snide grin. Normally, if I came across an Overlander, I'd either be ducking into the bush and hiding or pulling out my crossbow in expectation of them firing the first shots the moment they saw me. But after my experience in Solenna, my opinions of them had recently taken a serious bruising so I was willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt for now.
"So... uh what can we do for you Mr...?" I couldn't put my hoof on it, but something about the way this guy looked just had this strangely familiar aura about him. |

RE: On the road to knothole
He looked perplexed at Vanansse; her accent making him feel far more alienated, before looking back towards Chadin.
"Oh, I'm sorry, how rude of me. My name is Gerald, Gerald Robotnik." He started out before putting his hands in his pocket. "I'm afraid I have no idea of what is going on. I've been trying to find my way back to my home..." Mentioning home made him look very concerned. Though then again, he was greatly concerned about it; wondering if his wife and parents where okay. He couldn't imagine how confused they would be, let alone how they would cope. He already wasn't doing so well, but then again he had been walking for a long time; and he hadn't come upon anyone or thing until now. He doubted that the deer and the cat could help him, but he would at least try-- and try to find out just what had happened. |

RE: On the road to knothole
Vanessa busted out laughing when she heard Gerald say his name. "Glow-face, when you asked him his name." She had to contain a fit of giggles. "He said "You old and robotic.!" She pulled the deer close giving him a hardy embrace. "Don't worry lil' bro. I think you're cool." The blue cat turned to the doctor. "Name calling aint right, so cut it out or I am gonna hafta make yah."
She had switched to a more serious tone. Despite her size, gender, and former outburst of laughter, she managed to pull of a very intimidating look. The scars simply added to her overall fierceness. |

RE: On the road to knothole
While Venessa had been hugging me I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Vanessa, he said GER-ALD, not 'yer old'. But as I was saying that I was simultaneously raising my right leg, using Vanessa's hugging to distract Robotnik's gaze as I drew the knife from my leg sheath.
...and he didn't say robotic... he said ROBOTNIK!!!" I suddenly sprang out of Vanessa's grip as I flashed my knife out of the leg sheath. I kept the razor edged blade pointed squarely at Robotnik. My eyes kept darting to those hands in his pockets. For all I knew, he had been getting ready to draw some kind of weapon on us. "As in the same Robotnik whose been trying to take over the world for years! You may not look like the same Robotnik I just fought to save Solenna, but for all I know you're just another version of him from an alternate zone that the merge brought here!" The lightning pattern on my body began to dimly glow with my rising anger. |

RE: On the road to knothole
Gerald continued to look bewildered, not understand what Vannasse was talking about. But apparently the deer she was hugging knew. He could only blink, not know how to really reply, as he listened to the deer talk.
Quote:"Vanessa, he said GER-ALD, not 'yer old'. ...and he didn't say robotic... he said ROBOTNIK!!!" "What-" Gerald was automatically taken off by the tone of voice the deer had used when he said his last name. But he only got to react to it for a split second before Chadin pulled the knife out. He reacted incredibly, his hands flying out of his pockets above his head opened. Though his right hand held a gold watch, with a somewhat long gold watch chain hanging from it. The look on his face was filled with fear, but with the glasses on he probably appeared to just be more confused. Standing incredibly still as to not make the deer excitable, Gerald being the diplomat he is, tried to get some things clear. "Hold on..." he began, with a calm voice, "Now...before you do anything drastic, I am going to ask some questions..." He was a little nervous, the fear of getting close to death just being to sink in. But, he seemed to retain the 'voice of reason' sound in his voice. "Firstly, what in the name all things scientific, is a 'dimensional merge'? Secondly, what do you mean by be being 'another version' You mean to tell me there's a another....me walking around; but at the same time, looks nothing like me? Don't you think that's a drastic conclusion? After all, it's not like I'm the only Robotnik...(granted, there's not much of us left...). And what's this about taking over the world? Why on earth would I do a stupid and foolish thing such as that? Not only is such a feat utterly impossible, it's completely wrong." [OOC: The sentence in the ( ) is an aside. He sorta just adds it in and mummbles it.] |

RE: On the road to knothole
"Oi oi oi, Glow-face!" Vanessa didn't know who this guy with the glasses was nor did she care, she just knew he didn't want to get stabbed. Always taking the direct approach, the blue cat grabbed the knife, but she didn't want to hurt Chadin. So she grabbed the edged part of the knife.
Instantly the taping wrapping her hands began to turn crimson. Though Vanessa didn't even acknowledge the injury, let alone make any sign of pain. The blue cat got between the deer and his source of anger, locking eyes with him. "I don't know who Robotnik is, but I do know you just said he didn't look like this one. So bro, calm down, please?" Vanessa couldn't stand idly by and watch some random person get shanked, if Chadin really wanted to fight Gerald, he would have to do it with out the aid of a knife. |

RE: On the road to knothole
When Vanessa got between him and this other Robotnik, Chadin lowered his blade, if not his guard, for fear of hurting his friend. "Vanessa, what gives? You're always up for a fight and now all of a sudden when on might break out you're trying to stop me?"
"And as for you!" I stated, pointing the tip of my knife at Robotnik casually enough to show that I wasn't going to try and stab him, but just threatening enough to tell him that I wasn't going to stand for any funny business from him with just my body language. "You may not look like the same Robotnik I know, but that doesn't mean you're not. The dimensional merge could have brought who knows how many different versions of people from the various zones and alternate realities together. Hell, you could be related to the same Robotnik, and family tend to think alike. Besides that, I'm still not a big fan of you Overlanders. You've always seemed to think you're so superior to the rest of us, so I don't see why it's so hard to believe you wouldn't want to try and take over the world." |
