RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
I can't say I've ever met someone like Vanessa before. I wasn't quite sure how to react. The one thing I was sure of however was that I did not want to have to answer these silly questions.
"My name is Chadin, not Chad. And you didn't answer my first question: Where am I? |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
The blue cat had another very perplexed look on her face. As if the deer had asked her to prove the theory of relativity wrong. After a minute of thinking she finally answered his question. "You're in yer bed." She had a very sincere tone when she answered.
"See, they found you all messed up, you're gonna have some sweet scars, then they brought you to this erm... Food hospital. Man, I'm hungry. I went out to get some food like 20 minutes ago. There are no stores in this park. It sucks man. And all the good stores seem to be south, on the other side of the city, the side that is all messed up. Just like you where, man you suck at fighting." From one sentence to the next, like a never ending stream of gibberish. Though Chadin could gather he was in a hospital in the northern part of Soleanna. "Hey if you need any thing, I guess I could get you something. Hey you like chicken?" The blue cat seemed to perk up at the mention of food, even if she was the one who said it. Another thing Chadin could gather is Vanessa did wear her heart on her sleeve. RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
At first, I'd just been dumbstruck by hot quickly Vanessa spoke and rapidly changed from subject to subject like a hyperactive fly. That and the knowledge that these Overlanders had found me and actually brought me to a hospital were totally unexpected. Clearly these Overlanders were not like the ones I knew of from back home. Perhaps I was judging them a bit unfairly.
But just as fast as I came to that realization, Vanessa had already changed subjects twice more already. It was starting to get annoying. That remark about me sucking in a fight did not improve my temperament at all either. Once again, as my temper started to flare up, the lightning shaped scars that streaked across my entire body began to faintly glow with a pale white light. Like a fibre optic cable the discolour fur around on those marks began take on the glow, making it visible even with the fur covering my body. There would be very little doubt that Vanessa would fail to notice it. "Hey! You try taking on hundreds of Swatbots, have buildings fall on you and giant exploding mecha legs throw you into walls and lets see how well you last!" I growled back angrily, probably more so than Vanessa really deserved. "And while I'm on the subject; NO I don't wonder what it would be like to be a moose! I happen to like being what I am! I did know a moose though. He always had to walk through a door sideways because his antlers were too wide." |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
Like a child who had something wrong. Vanessa just sunk back into her seat when the deer barked at her. He had been talking about fighting, something that was apart of her. All she had growing up was her fist, and being a girl she had to strike back twice as often to even get an once of respect. She had been paying attention for once, the only reason she didn't blow off Chadin's scolding.
Her great big pumpkin colored eyes began to swell up as she held back the tears. His tone combined with what she could interpret as an insult to her fighting skills along with not considering being a moose all translated to the cat as a personal attack. She wasn't going to cry, crying was for girls. "Stupid glow-face!" was her only rebuttal. She would have left him but he was the only person she had actually talked to. Everyone else wrote her off as a hooligan, not that they where far off. |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
"Glow-face...?" I glanced down at my hands and arms and saw for myself how I was glowing. It was just like Giichi said outside Robotnik before all of this happened. When he got angry the lightning patterned scars began to glow. As I pondered over this latest revelation, the scar's began to slowly fade back to their usual chestnut brown colour that contrasted against my normal tan colour.
I glanced up at Vanessa and saw that broken little face on her and my heart began to bleed instantly. My ears drooped down in shame and the anger drained away. Even after all the things I've been through, I guess there's still some 'old softy' left in me. "Oh... jeez, I'm sorry Vanessa. I... I didn't mean to snap at you like that. It's just that I've been through a lot lately..." |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
"Really? Like what?" in her usual fashion, the blue cat managed to shift gears from 'sad' to 'interested' in a moments notice. The cat didn't let anything stick with her. She was once again balancing on the two legs of the chairs.
While Chadin's marks could be mistaken for scars. There was no doubt that the multitude of scars Vanessa possessed where old. Her face had at least three alone. It wasn't hard to tell she was a fighter either. Her muscle was clearly cut and defined, a sign it was developed over a extremely long period of time. If Chadin' took any time to inspect the cats body, it was clear she was no physical slouch. Though the cat lacked any significant bulk, her fitness was easily lost in her swear shirt. "Did you lose your batteries?" she was wondering why the glowing symbols dimmed on the deer, she had been enjoying the light show. |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
I leaned back on my bed, already knowing that this is going to be a long story, even if I planned to simplify it a bit. "Well, lets see. First I wake up and discover that the zone's have all collapsed. Then I break into Robotnik's headquarters, learn about Robotnik's plans to invade Solenna, get captured and almost robotizied. Then I manage to escape thanks to some help from a new friend of mine. After that, we regroup, and come here to fight Robotnik's fleet of airships. Finally, me and a bunch of other people including Sonic all face off against Robotnik's giant Mecha. Then a building falls on us, I get hit in the head and after Robotnik's damaged mecha emerges from the rubble, he blasts off and has what's left of his mecha self-destruct. Next thing I know I'm waking up here. How's that for a busy day?"
"Did you lose your batteries?" she was wondering why the glowing symbols dimmed on the deer, she had been enjoying the light show. "Hmm?" Oh, this..." I replied as I watched me fur return to normal. "No, these scars apparently seem to start glowing when I get angry these days. Funny thing is, I never used to until...." I seemed to loose my voice as realization came crashing down on me. "... until after the dimensional merge." That had to be the source of this strange new phenomenon. The merging dimensions must have altered me somehow. Perhaps that is why I'd be lying unconscious for a whole week after the merge occurred while others apparently kept on going unabated. |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
The cat was tempted to attempt to poke the deer. Though she restrained herself. "you sure you don't want something to eat?" she tilted her head thinking of what she wanted to eat as well as changing the subject, again.
"I am thinking chicken... though I think i ate all the chicken." Vanessa got up from the chair. "whadya you want glow-face? I am gettin' us some food." Chadin would have an easier time trying to convince Sonic that slow and stead wins the race then getting Vanessa to use his name. Just one of the social quirks that came with being a teen. |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
I couldn't tell if Vanessa had just been ignoring everything I just said or simply had a one-track mind. In any event, at the second mentioning of food, I could feel my stomach grumbling a little. Admittedly, I wasn't sure I felt like eating right now considering how painful it was to move right now, but on the other hand I haven't had anything to eat since... since I woke up.
"Umm... a salad, fruit, vegetables will be fine for me thanks. As long as there's no meat." I replied. |

RE: Battle of Soleanna - Field Hospital
Vanessa let out a big smile, getting up from her chair. "I'll be before you know it." She had to stop herself from blasting off, opting to run normally. Even that annoyed the staff at the field hospital. Though her athletics kept her from causing to much trouble. She even leaped clear over a patient's bed, side ways, while dodging a wheelchair. All quite in view of the deer.
Once Vanessa got outside, she really kicked it into overdrive. Her fore arms and legs caught aflame as she accelerated to over 70 MPH. She was going to go searching through the city for something to eat. |
