RE: City Streets
"I reckon we should stay in a high place and look for smoke from a fire. As soon as he burns something else, we'll know where to look for him." Novus said thoughtfully.
"Other than that, the only thing I could think of is to decide what would look best on fire and go there." He added chuckling. |

RE: City Streets
The curtain quickly caught fire and filled the kitchen with smoke. It wouldn't be long before smoke started leaking out through a nearby window. The SWATbot investigating the detonator cord noticed this and started moving in on the fire source.
In response to Rampage's request, spybots quickly filled the area. They seemed to be buzzing down just about every available alleyway and street, not to mention flying into open windows and checking building interiors. [Sorry guys...I wish I could write more, but the job hunt's really making me feel glum.] |

RE: City Streets
“Whelw dam.”
At this point he wouldn’t be able to hide so easily. It looked like setting that other building on fire caught their attention. Finally. He was wondering when they were going to notice. Or maybe he was just joshing. He lit on of the bottles on fire and managed to through it into a window. Hopefully, that would distract them. Whether they’d see or not, Byrain automatically found a man-hole and shot straight for it. He would quickly open the cover and drop down, not bothering to cover the sewer hole completely. He was getting tired of running away, but in his defense he didn’t like the horde of robots flying around. And since these guys didn’t seem all that bright he was beginning to not want to get caught. They simple didn’t deserve it if they couldn’t find him till now. He began to run, where he was going, he didn’t know, but he was aiming to find the surface again and get back to his vehicle. |

RE: City Streets
"Bingo!!! Rampage laughed out jovially as he pointed at a monitor on the dash of their hovercraft. On that screen was a picture of Byrain disappearing down a man-hole.
As per his instructions, the moment one of the Spy Eyes spotted their target, it began feeding that image to Rampage's hovercraft in addition to sending out the particular Spy Eye's position. "Looks like we've found our turkey." Rampage reached for the console and pressed a button. "I want Spy Eye's down that hole pronto; flood those sewers with'em!!! I want to know exactly where this clown is going! Dog this guy until he comes back out to the surface. I want his coordinates fed up to my hovercraft. We'll tail him from the air." It was fortunate this bozo didn't bother replacing the man-hole cover. They would have had to waste time lifting the lid up for the Spy Eyes to follow and might have lost him otherwise. But as it stood now, dozens of Spy Eye's were converging on the lone man-hole and rapidly through the tunnels in all directions trying to locate Fox. "Heh, oldest trick in the book..." Rampage mused as he leaned back in his chair. "Freedom Fighters loved using the sewer tunnels to get around. Never understood why the Doc didn't place sensors in the sewers. Guess they were just too extensive to ever properly monitor." |

RE: City Streets
"That was quick! If he returns to the surface, then we get near you should get within thirty feet or so and I'll drop in on him while you cut him off from escaping in another direction. If he remains underground, we can use the cameras and maps to corner him." Novus said analytically.
"But remember, below ground that fire is going to be a problem, it'll burn up the oxygen and heat up that small space. You should let me try to talk to him before we get in a literal firefight, I'd rather not know what it's like to stand inside of a stove." |

RE: City Streets
Gamma rolled to a stop in what used to be the Station Square train station. He stood up, and jumped down from the platform. Walking outside, he could easily see that this was not the Station Square he last saw.
"This is not Station Square... Determine location." He stepped away from the station, and began walking the streets, trying to find some clue as to where he was. ![]() |

RE: City Streets
(Okay, I’m going to end this now. And in case no one knows I’m Rose, and I’m not bothering to use that account to post the skel-ies actions)
A few skel-ies that Rose had sent out to the site finally reached the seen, whizzing by any slow SWATbots or Eyebots as they quickly followed Byrain into the sewers. There were four of them in total, and as two went down after Byrain, the other two started to find the next nearest man hole; that the other two would compute what direction he was going. Byrain, as he ran with the skel-ies behind him. He scuffed, before realizing that they were actually gaining on him. ‘Damn…these things are fast…’ he thought to himself as he tried to pick up speed. The two skel-ies soon began to shoot at him, there shots missing. Smirking at this, and seeing as they were catching up, he quickly turned around and blasted his flame thrower at them. Even though he was on the other end he could feel the surge of heat as the flamthrowers fire was multiplied greatly. The Skel-ies were hit, and there thin metal began to melt easily as they both ran around in panic. Byrain laughed at this display as he watched the two robots burn; one ending up falling straight into the sewer system. But unfortunately for him, he didn’t notice or see the two skel-ies behind him. Without hesitation both of them shot at the unstill target and hit. Byrain felt as the first couple of shots went through him, his body feeling an enormous amount of pain before suddenly it wouldn’t even matter. Because one of the shots the trigger-happy Skel-ies would send one shot straight through his heart. The body fell forward, the second skel-y already collapsed once the circuits were no longer good. The other two, walked up to the body curiously and began to poke and kick it. Once they realized the man wasn’t going to be moving they looked at each other. One of the skel-ies found the communication transmitter that there creator had told him. No doubt Rampage would be surprised at the sudden new voice. “Hey! Mr. Crazy-Badger-guy! We got him! He’s asleep now…” (And yes, Byrain is in fact dead. I meant to kill him off. I have my reasons. = =) |

RE: City Streets
[I'm posting now to help move things along.]
The news of the dead intruder had already reached Robotnik. Before the two could answer, they got a second call from Robotnik. "You two can come back now. The intruder's been dealt with, so report back to the command tower. By the way, I need to discuss my next operation with you. It's actually already under way, so get back here immediately. Oh...and Rampage..." The doctor's voice took on a sterner tone. "This time I will meet you in the docking bay. Understood? No more visits to the lab with unannounced guests." --- With E-102 walking the streets, it wouldn't be long before he was noticed by a spy bot. The bot kept its distance, and ran a diagnostics scan. The robot appeared to be affiliated with Robotnik, from what it could gather. However, the spy bot did not recognize the model of the robot from its internal copy of the database. For the moment, it decided to slowly follow after E-102 in case this was some sort of Freedom Fighter trick. The spy bot queried the database stored in the Egg Command Tower remotely, since it would most likely be more up to date than its internal data. |

RE: City Streets
"Yeah, yeah, next time ya don't want visitors try locking the door next time, sheesh." Rampage grumbled like a disinterested youth before killing the connection with Robotnik. It wasn't like Rampage had hacked the security or anything, or even knew Robotnik would object to him just showing up.
"Well, might as well find out what the fuss is about." Rampage pitched the hovercraft over and made a bee-line back toward Robotnik's HQ. [To Robotnik's HQ...] |
