RE: City Streets
The SWATbot pursued after her again, firing more shots as it ran.
By this time, other SWATbots were beginning to arrive on the scene. If Rose looked around, she'd see a handful of SWATbots beginning to appear on either end of the street. Clearly if she didn't get out of there, she'd soon be surrounded. --- "She is a breaker of Robotnik's law," SWAT Surveillance said back, in the most matter of fact tone. "Why would you not want her to be punished for her crimes?" |

RE: City Streets
Her happy demeanor soon turned sour as the events began to unfold. She already had two bots hot on her heels, barely managing to get out of the way of their shots as she ran across the street; and to make things worse more of them were coming onto the scene.
She had to think quickly. She turned into the nearest alleyway as soon as she crossed the street. There, she saw her only ticket to lose them. “Damn, and I thought I wouldn’t’ have to go through anymore sewers .” Rose muttered to herself as she slid the manhole lid off and quickly entered; slide the lid close. --- He facepalmed in agrivation, as he tried to ‘agrue’ with the system. “Not if she doesn’t –know- what she’s doing!” he exclaimed, “I doubt she knows that Robotnik even EXISTS, let alone that he now has LAW over things!!” [If there’s any particular way you want the sewer to look, and then just say so. I'd imagine they would be surprisingly clean. :B] |

RE: City Streets
Much like you would expect, the dank, dark sewer smelled like a garbage dump, a public toilet that hadn't been cleaned in 20 years, and a cow pasture of manure rolled into one, then turned up to eleven. Small lights lined the narrow passageway, reflecting off the slime on the brick walls and murky water of mystery contents on the tunnel floor. Rose was going to have to get wet in it if she wanted to stay down here.
A SWATbot tried to follow her down, but then Rose would hear a loud thunk above her. The SWATbot's legs kicked uselessly back and forth against the ladder, as it was too big to get through the manhole opening. For the moment, she'd have the SWAT patrol off her back. But it'd be no telling how long that would last. --- "How do you know these things about the fugitive?" SWAT Surveillance said in response to Alta's statement. "Are you her accomplice?" If this were a living creature speaking to Alta, it probably would have raised its voice and screamed the 'accomplice' part. But since it was merely an AI, the best it could do was maintain an even tone of voice, as if it was a robot servant asking whether he wanted coffee or tea. Regardless, the accusation probably wouldn't be a comforting statement for him... [I have an idea for where you could go from here. In the Belly of the Beast topic, Chadin and Giichi entered the central tower through a weak wall in the sewers. Maybe you could steer Rose in that direction.] |

RE: City Streets
“Urgg!” she gagged as she quickly covered her mouth. “This place is ten times WORSE than the LAST time!!!”
Hearing the sound comeing from the hole, she looked up. She would have laughed, if not for the hurendous stengh in the air; and her not wanting to breath too much of it in. But, before she would ran off, she would try and through the bot’s off her scent. Quickly, using her right arm, she took her hat off and threw it into the other direction. Turning around, she began running off in the opposite direction, trying to find a safe haven. ---- It was surprising for him. He’d never felt this angry before in his life. Now beinging to seeth, as his worrying for Rose still continued he lashed out to the machine. “That’s because she’s one of ROBOTNIK’S acomplices!!” he shouted, as he pounded his right fist on the monitor. “I knew here because I was trying to help Robotnik! And she had been working for him longer than I had!” Realizing what he was doing he stopped, and sighed as he calmed down. “That’s the point I’ve been trying to make. The only reason she would be causeing chaos is if she didn’t know.” ‘Or, I hope so…’ he thought grimmly to himself. If this Rose was indeed from the same diemention he came from, then it was understandable. But, different diemension could equal different possiblities. Though the possiblities of a ‘goody-too-shoes’ Rose seemed…quite unfathomable. [Well then, I guess we're moving to Belly of the Beast. Unless we can just keep it in the same topic. PM me about it] |

RE: City Streets
Up above, the SWATbots in the alley struggled to lift the stuck SWATbot out of the manhole. After he was removed, a hovering Spy Bot descended down the ladder's shaft, and began hunting for Rose.
After Rose wandered for a while, she'd come to a hole in a wall shining bright light into the sewer. Beyond sat a long, echoing, brightly-lit metallic passageway, running in either direction. However, the sounds of heavy machinery could be heard coming from one direction. --- "If she is an accomplice of Robotnik she should appear in our databases as working for him. I cannot find any matches based on her appearance, not even in the civilian database." SWAT Surveillance went silent for a moment, as if he was leaving it at that. But then he began speaking again. "But you apparently came from another dimension, and Mr. Green cleared you. Perhaps this may be the case for her. We will try to take her alive, in that case. Would you like to help bring her in?" [Egg Command Tower would be more appropriate, since that's where she'll end up at.] |

RE: City Streets
Rose didn’t hesitate as she entered through the hole in the wall. She looked around, her footsteps echoing through the halls as she looked and listened in.
‘I need to find a place with an internet connection….and fast.’ Rose thought to herself as she looked at the different directions she could take. She quickly took off her shoes, as they made too much noise; trying to make sure she didn’t touch any of the sludge on her shoes. As soon as she got them off, she chunked them into the sewage, so the robot’s wouldn’t be able to trail her. Once that was taken care of, she moved Hennery so that the gun rested on her shoulder more comfortable as she walked down the hall opposite of where she heard the sound of machinery. --- “Yes, of course.” He replied without hesitation. Hopefully, he wasn’t wrong about Rose. [ To Egg Command Tower. I guess you post first.] |

RE: City Streets
[From Outskirts]
He didn't know how long it had been, but he was beginning to grow tired of hearing the scampering of rats and the darkness around him. Finding the closest man-hole, he climbed up the ladder and lifted up the lid slightly to see just where he was. |

RE: City Streets
Byrian would find himself in a slum that looked like a residential area.
All around him he'd see crumbling tenements closely crowded together along narrow streets. A lot of windows were broken, and they were simply covered up with tarp, cardboard, or whatever else the resident could find. Most of the washing strung between buildings looked old and filthy, with numerous patches and deeply-set stains. Trash filled every nook and cranny, between the small apartment balconies above and the alleyways down below. But despite the fact that people clearly lived here currently, no one appeared to be around and there was no sign of an evacuation. Dead leaves and old scraps of paper fluttering in the wind comprised the only movement around Byrian. It was like all the inhabitants decided to just simply walk out of the area before he got here. |

RE: City Streets
The site of the slums bemused him. What, was he in Homeless Kingdom? It seemed like it, with the place in such a crappy condition. What kind of person lives in this kind of condition without people ranting, raving, and 'peacefully' protesting about this? Hell, his old town would get the pitch forks and the torches just knowing it existed. As for him, he didn't give a damn. As far as he was concerned, it had 'Burn Me into a Crisp' written all over it.
Seeing though that on one was around, he slid the lid open and crawled out, placing the lid back over in case anyone did happen to come through. Taking a small moment to look around he decided it may be best to do a 'breaking and entering' act if he wanted to cause a very, -very- big bonfire. Which, thanks to the shabby conditions, wouldn't be so hard. He quickly walked over to the nearest window that was covered by a tarp, peeking inside to make sure there was no one around. |

RE: City Streets
Inside, Byrian would see a rather rubbish-looking apartment. All of the furniture appeared decades old and covered with various stains, scratches, and dings. Various odd trinkets positively covered most counter space and much of the floor...a broken baby doll here...gears and parts from an old car there. It looked like whoever lived here spent time going through lots of dumpsters and trashcans looking for things to salvage. A bare naked light bulb with a pull string supplied the only light in the room.
Behind Byrian and out in the street, he'd hear a low humming sound approaching. A spy bot moved into view at an intersection down the street, and began to scan the area. However, Byrian would have just a second to hide before it turned in his direction. |
