City Streets

RE: City Streets
Espio seemed rather stoic; it wasn't the first drunk he'd seen before, especially given his occupation. "It seems that you've had a rough day...", he said approaching the drunk, arm outstretched. He would attempt to aid the man up to his feet; of corse a task easier said than done given the fact he was at least half the other's size and weight. "Give me a hand, and I'll see about getting into one of these houses in back.", he said facing the others.

RE: City Streets
The drunk swayed to his feet with a little help from Espio, before he allowed himself to be escorted into one of the run down buildings. Despite being a man, as Espio herded him along he seemed more like a stupid, if obedient dog. He simply went along with whatever his 'master' told him and didn't question it. For the first time though, he did manage some speech. But what he used his speech for would be predictable.

"Ey...you'n guys looka like you go'z some monah on ya'll with ya'lls nice clotheses. You'n got any booze, do yah? Ah ranz out of mah moonshine..."

RE: City Streets
Whip followed along with Espio, though any support towards guiding the man was purely moral, as he seemed very hesitant on touching him. Upon hearing the request for alcohol, Whip's temper flared. For whatever reason, be it to seem controlled in front of his idol, or in some kind of lingering remorse for offending Omega earlier, he redirected this into a somewhat snarky response.
"Not enough food down here to feed a roach, but you guys still managed a way to get some moonshine, huh?" He wondered, shrugging his shoulders. He seemed about to continue, but apparently voted against it, as he said nothing more.

RE: City Streets
[Using the 3 day rule]

Espio raised a brow in Whip's direction, turning to face him as he casually surveyed the buildings. "You know, its far easier to make booze in a place like this to cope instead of growing crops. Its not the right thing to do, but I can't blame them. I'm sure most of the people that would want to get out of here can't. So I wouldn't be too keen on looking down at them.", he finished up before looking to the drunk following him.

"I'm afraid not...", he merely said, springing up the back of a building that seemed preferable to get a good vantage point from; roughly the fourth house down from where they came from. He extracts a standard shuriken from his bag, testing to see if he can wedge one of the windows loose to get in side, and let the others in from the ground floor with minimal noise.

RE: City Streets
Espio wouldn't find it hard to move the rotting wood off of one of the windows. However, Whip's comments had enraged the drunk.

"I jus' wans a drink, dag nabbit! Gimmah waone!"
the man's speech continued to slur all over the place.

He started trying to flail his filthy hands at Whip, even as Espio escorted him away. Then he tripped over his own feet and went face down into the mud. Shaking himself off, he let loose a feral-sounding growl as he raised his head off the ground. However, he seemed to see something overhead, and went silent with fear.

If the others looked up, they'd notice the unnatural-looking clouds roiling in overhead. Lightning bolts struck the tops of several towers above them. Meanwhile, the already dim alleyway grew even dimmer, as the street lights began to flicker on and off. A flaming barrel further down the street suddenly went out. It did it seemingly on its own, as there was no wind blowing right now.

Soon afterwards, a loud shriek echoed through the passageway. The cry did not exactly sound natural. It was difficult to tell if a human or Mobian made the sound...or if it was something else.

RE: City Streets
Following the homeless man's gaze, Omega saw the clouds and lightning, and began looking around. "Guys, I don't think-" The loud sound cut him off, causing him to look around frantically.

"I think we're in trouble."

[Skipping Espio]

Alpha was only too right. If he looked at the end of the alleyway, he'd notice something long and slender snaking along the ground towards them. But since whatever it was appeared black as well, the form would be difficult to make out. However, if the group did not move quickly, it was going to run right into them.

RE: City Streets
Espio looked up from his vantage point as the sky began to grow dark. "...An ill omen...", he observed as he pulls off the board covering the window. He then leaps inside, signaling the other two with him to follow suit.

He then eyes the dark figure down the alleyway, his eyes narrowing as he starts to quickly make his way down to the first floor to get to the front doorway.

RE: City Streets
The snake-like creature was upon them almost immediately thereafter, hissing and snarling as it went. The darkness would make it difficult to make out, but a crystal-like structure could be seen glowing red in the creature's "brain" area in what was probably its head.

It decided to target Espio first, as it briefly paused to rear its head back, before leaping directly at the chameleon. If it missed, it would fall into the room with Espio as well.
