RE: Vacationing with evacuees
((Alright then.))
Jijeka-Te was by now standing on the hood of the car to try to get a look at how the driver directed it, but she couldn't get a good angle. She climbed down and tried to open the door, but of course it was locked. (Ji) "It doesn't open? But why?" (Anu) "It's locked somehow. The owner probably does that to prevent people from stealing it." (Ji) "Well, that's not very secure. It would seem very easy for someone to take something heavy and..." She took out her flail. (Anu) "DON'T, YOUR HIGH--" CRASH! Too late. Ji had already smashed the window in. She immediately regretted this course of action, as it had set off the car alarm which did nothing to please her ears. The two of them could do nothing but stand and stare as the alarm blared. The Shattering screwed up time something awful. A select few were dumped out of their age altogether, a certain Egyptian queen included. One of Kitty O'Brien's characters. |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Gail's head immediately jerked upwards, his ears immediately rotating to where the noise had come from. After living in a slummy part of town, he learned that was never a good sound.
"That came from your front yard..." Putting the knife down, he immediately sprinted out of the kitchen and slammed into the front door, pushing it out of the way and almost causing it to slam back into the house's outer wall. Once he was outside, he quickly looked towards Tech's Beetle to ascertain the situation. Someone had just smashed open the window, and it was a...lizard and beetle in Egyptian royalty garb? Oh well, the situation still demanded an explanation, no matter what they looked like. Putting on his best tough guy face, he extended one arm and pointed directly at the pair. "HEY! Who are you?!" The wolf shouted so loud his words seemed to echo down the entire street. Combined with his height, gold eyes, and imposing profile, it would no doubt be an intimidating sight. |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
When I heard my car alarm and knew Gail was here, I followed him outside. I was afraid my car would be stolen. This is my time to lay low for awhile. Even though I would love to arrest these draculas for trying to steal my car, I didn't wanna give Gail the wrong idea.
I echo my reply. It wasn't as intimidating. However the message was clear. "What are you doing?!" I am a cop, if you break the law you better watch out. Don't mind my avatar, I don't draw that well. |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Neither Ji nor Anu had moved from their spots since the former broke the car window. When Gail and Tech confronted them, they turned around.
Anu spoke first. "I must apologize on behalf of the Queen. She's not exactly--" Ji then cut in. "You don't need to apologize for me, Anu. I'm perfectly capable of doing that myself." She cleared her throat. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Jijeka-Te III, and this is my royal advisor Anu. You have my sincerest apologies for damaging your vehicle; I was trying to understand how it worked and I got a little carried away." "We're new here," Anu added as Ji bowed respectfully, "so this technology is alien to us." The Shattering screwed up time something awful. RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Queen Ji's announcement of who she was seemed to disarm Gail of his tough guy performance, replacing it with pure confusion. He went from snarling to his mouth slightly dropping open in bewilderment, his head tilting to the side some.
"Huh?" It was all he could say in reaction to what these weird people had just said. Shaking his head, he tried to pick up where he left off, but no words really came out. The situation was just too strange for him to form coherent thoughts for a moment. In the end, he decided to settle for just one thing. Gail gave a brief aside comment to Tech, who was standing beside him. "Maybe you should just call the cops. We'll get it all cleared up when they get here." |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
I wonder what to do. I don't wanna reveal to either of them that I'm actually a cop. However, I'm on vacation right now and I don't want the police involved, even if I'm a cop myself.
I smile and wave it off. "We don't have to call the cops. What would be more helpful to call would be someone who could give me a new window. Let me just turn off the car alarm." I click a button on my keys and the alarm turns off. I call on my cell phone. "Hi, My window was broken on my driver side. I need a window for a Volkswagen Beetle... Okay, thanks." I hang up. "He said he'd be here in a few minutes. His shop is close by from where we are." I explain. "All we need to do is get the glass fixed and out of the car with a new window. Then we can eat while the repair man gives me a new window. Then I'll show you two how a car works. I'll just stay out here until the repair man arrives. The three of you can go inside. Gail, you get back to the chicken. Anu and Ji, make yourself at home." I am a cop, if you break the law you better watch out. Don't mind my avatar, I don't draw that well. |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
"Thank you very much." Ji bowed respectfully, then proceeded for the still-open door with Anu following.
Once inside, they began to look around. Anu kept Ji's arm tightly held in case she thought to break something again. Thankfully, much of the technology inside the house was more intuitive to them than what was outside. The Shattering screwed up time something awful. RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Gail whirled around, looking somewhat flabbergasted. "You're gonna just let that go? You know how much automotive glass costs?" But she ignored the wolf and started chatting on her cell phone. Gail let out a sigh, as he turned around to rub his forehead.
Yeah, she's letting it go... Oh well...if she really doesn't care, then I guess I won't either. But she's going to become friends with these people now? He watched with disbelief as the Egyptian pair made their way inside. What a crazy world we live in now... Shaking his head, he went back in and resumed his work on the chicken. Now that the strips were cut up, he put the crackers in a blender and switched it on. A loud grinding noise would fill the kitchen as the crackers were ground into dust. He then followed this up by dumping the cracker powder into a bowl, followed up by a helping of flour and some season salt. Then, using a whisk, he began to beat the three ingredients together into a uniform mixture. |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
I flag down the repair man and he parks on the curb. He starts working.
Now that their gone, I make sure my back faces the window and I show the repair man my badge. "Could you give me a coporal discount. You see, someone destroyed my window and I was just wondering if you could give me a discount. Is it okay if I call my chief of staff?" "Sure, go right ahead. Yes, since you're a cop, I can give you a one hundred dollar discount and I'm sure the staff might help with everything else." As he works, I call on my cell phone. I call the chief. "Hey chief, someone broke the window of my Volkswagen Beetle and I need you to come down here really fast. I'm guessing it would cost $60 with the discount I have so far." The chief replies. "I'm on my way. I'll be there in ten minutes. I'll have the sirens going and everything." "Alright, see you here." I put away my badge. I am a cop, if you break the law you better watch out. Don't mind my avatar, I don't draw that well. |

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Ji heard the blender going, and the noise piqued her curiosity.
"Anu, did you hear that?" "Yes, I did. I think it came from over there." Anu and Ji peered into the kitchen together. (Anu) "It looks like he's preparing food. That does look like a kitchen." (Ji) "What do you think he's making? I don't recognize many of those implements." Gail glanced at Ji and Anu, who flinched a bit. (Ji) "Oh! Terribly sorry, we didn't mean to distract you."
