Vacationing with evacuees

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
((Sigh... really wish Tech didn't have to disappear...))

The time passed fairly quickly for Ji and Anu. They finally figured out how to turn the lamp off again (albeit not without Tech's help), and studied some of the other technology in the house as well. Ji was particularly interested in this phenomenon called "electric power", and wanted to know how it was generated... but apparently that would have to wait.

The Shattering screwed up time something awful. A select few were dumped out of their age altogether, a certain Egyptian queen included.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Gail, meanwhile, fully healed up from his injuries. Despite taking some hard blows, he recovered fairly quickly. In his former life, he had to. No time spent in the underground fighting ring meant no money for groceries or rent, so he learned to get over pain as quickly as he could.

He'd also retrieved his hovercycle from the street in front of Priscilla's ruined shop, and over the past couple hours he'd spent some time shining it up and getting it recharged. It sat out in the front yard, glinting in the sunlight from the clean metal. Gail admired his handiwork from the kitchen window, as he washed the cleaning chemicals off his hands into the kitchen sink.

A clear vase sat on the windowsill next to him, filled with water and a yellow flower sticking out of the top. Nothing out of the ordinary. However, when his eyes passed over it, he paused. The water inside looked to be vibrating. But why? Then he noticed the entire house seemed to be shaking, as if they were in a minor earthquake. It wasn't anything serious, but it was enough to get all the plates, pots, and glasses around him to rattle, making an awful racket.

He hurried for the living room, shouting as he went.

"Everyone! Hurry! We should get outside!"
The wolf turned and quickly pushed his way out through the front door.

Then he noticed something else appeared to be off. Before he'd noticed the sun glinting off of his hovercycle. But now the sunlight was blocked by something in the sky, even though they'd had a clear blue sky just a few minutes ago. Gail looked up, wondering what this could mean...and his jaw dropped.

Airships...dozens of them...all flew through the air over his head. Their engines were so loud that they caused everything around him to shake just a little bit. Across the sides of them he'd see Robotnik's logo emblazoned, leering at him from the sky. They all appeared to be flying over the village in a hurry, although they didn't bother to stop to attack.

"What...the...?"

[How's THAT for a start to the next plotline, huh? Smile]

[Sorry for the wait guys]

Magnus was just walking out into the main room after bandaging himself up, and heard the commotion from outside. He rushed out the front door to where Gail was and looked up to see the airships overhead.

"That's certainly ominous, and that's Robotnik's logo on them, this can only mean trouble... Where do you think they're going?" Magnus shouted to Gail, his voice muffled by the engine noise.

Ji and Anu were quick to rush outside after Gail and Magnus.

(Ji) "What in the world are THOSE things?"
(Anu) "...No idea."

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
"They're airships Ji. They're basically boats that can fly. Armies use them to get around fast, not to mention they're practically flying fortresses. I don't know what they're up to...but I want to follow them!" Gail grinned, as he ran for his bike. He did need money and figured he should help Giichi get his Ferrari back, but this looked way more fun than looking for some stupid car. Not to mention, if they were up to no good and he helped stop whatever Robotnik's plan was, maybe he could become famous in this new world and attract more women!

"Come on!"
he said, as he grabbed the handlebars of his bike and vaulted himself onto it. "One of you can ride with me, and the other with Magnus."

Ji and Anu glanced at each other, then climbed aboard. Ji took her position on Gail's bike, and Anu on Magnus's.

Ji was a little scared about all this; she kept worrying that her tail would get caught in the back wheel. Anu seemed confident, though.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
(Gail's is a hoverbike, so it doesn't have wheels. It's got hover jets instead Smile )

"Here we go!"

Gail twisted his bike's handlebars, sending them shooting off across the open plains after Robotnik's fleet. With the hovering capabilities of his machine, it glided easily over rough spots in the ground. The feeling would be akin to riding on a glass-smooth lake in a speedboat.
