Vacationing with evacuees

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Gail gave a halfway smile as he saw Anu timidly handling the lamp.

"I'm surprised you figured it out that fast. If you thought it used oil, I would have figured you'd be looking for a place to pour kerosene."

As he finished off the chicken piece he was eating, he wiped his hands of the crumbs.

"You'll probably do just fine here if you can adapt that quickly."

A beat. Gail thought for a second, and realized they probably weren't interested in living here. They more than likely just wanted to go home. The wolf hadn't considered it before since he himself hadn't been leaving much behind in the first place.

"You miss your home much?"

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
Magnus rides up to the spot where he'd parked his bike before, dismounts, and begins to stand. He is sore all over and will need patched up and some rest before he can leave town, but that'll come after he reports what he has seen to the rest.

Magnus starts walking toward the door and almost barges in like last time, but stops to think about it and instead knocks and waits.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
I hear the knock at the door and open the door for Magnus. "Hi Magnus. Come in."

I feel like Magnus will say something important. Something about the battle for sure. We'll see his news very soon.

Anu glanced up at Gail. "Actually, I think that was just luck," he sheepishly admitted. "I'm not entirely sure I can figure out how to extinguish it now that I've ignited it... I figured there must have been some sort of flint-based ignitor inside the lamp that the pullchain was connected to."

Ji intercepted Gail's last question. "Well, we haven't been gone long enough for me to say whether I really do miss it or not. I'm still making up my mind... but yes, I'd say I do miss it a little."

The Shattering screwed up time something awful. A select few were dumped out of their age altogether, a certain Egyptian queen included.

Gail was about to respond to Ji and Anu when he heard a knock at the front door. He craned his neck to see who it was, and saw Magnus standing there. His jaw visibly dropped.

"Magnus! I thought you would be coming back in a casket! What happened after we left? How did you get away?"

The wolf actually swayed to a stand, and started to walk over. Despite his injuries, he wanted to see just how Magnus had turned out from the previous fight. He had been the last one left out there, after all. Everyone else had fled.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
"After the fox and I could fight no longer, he took a large sword and shield from the ruin, and left everything else behind that they had stolen. I wasn't able to tell where he and the wolf disappeared to. It seems the safe and the large one's armaments were what they were most concerned with." Magnus said, still out of breath.

"Is there somewhere I can rest for a while? I need to patch myself up as well, so do you have any medical supplies handy?" He continued to inquire.

I nod. "I'm glad you made it. The medicine cabinet is in the bathroom. So are the medical supplies."

It was hard for Ji and Anu's attention not to be taken by Magnus. They looked at him with mild concern, but said nothing.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
[Since Tech is departing the board, I'm going to be setting us up here for the next plotline. Do any of you mind a time skip in the next round? I want time for Gail and Magnus to heal before we get into action again.]

Gail shook his head. "So...they got away with the loot after all. But at least we stopped them from keeping this operation going."

He went to the kitchen to eat some of those mashed potatoes that had been cooking.

"I'm just wondering what we're going to do now."

Hey #######, you still need to go meet up with Giichi, remember?

Gail snorted his nostrils at the thought of immediately going to help him get his precious Ferrari back. In this state, Gail wouldn't be much help anyway. He'd definitely need a little more time to heal up.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
[Fine with me]

Magnus headed to the bathroom to patch himself up, when he was done he would rest in the main room close to the door and eat if anything was offered to him.
