Vacationing with evacuees

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
I finish boiling the potatoes and prepare to mash them. I look around and notice that most of guests are gone. I'm not sure if Gail is gone or if Ji and Anu are gone. However, it does appear that Magnus might be gone for sure. Hopefully he finds what he's looking for.

I empty the water from the pot and make sure I'm careful.

Ji and Anu glanced at one another.

"We should make conversation the next time one of them comes in here," Anu suggested in a low voice. "It'd be the polite thing to do, and we might learn something useful."

Ji nodded, and took one more strip.

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
When Gail walked back into the kitchen, Tech didn't seem to see him. She was looking in his general direction but appeared to be looking at something behind him. And she looked a little confused too.

"Um...hello? I'm right here, Tech." Gail waved his hand a bit, trying to grab her attention. He chuckled a little. "Come on now, I'm not a ghost, am I? How are those potatoes coming along?"

He walked up beside her to look into the pot.

I gasp in unexpected happiness. "I thought you went with Magnus to find that part for him. However, I'm glad you're here. As for the potatoes, I just need to mash them and put in some milk." I look in the fridge and pull out the milk. "We do have milk here. Is soy milk okay? I'm somewhat lactose intolerant." I bring the soy milk to the counter by the potatoes and I allow Gail to look at the milk before it gets put in. "Is soy milk okay?"

(Uh... consider my turn skipped, I haven't a clue what to do until someone comes back in to check on Ji and Anu.)

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
The question about soy milk confused the wolf. He didn't think he'd ever tried soy milk before. But he was open to trying new things, so he didn't oppose the move.

"I...suppose so," Gail said in reply to Tech's question about the soy milk. He'd never tried potatoes with soy milk before. But oh well...how bad could it be? He walked back to rejoin Ji and Anu.

"Well...I must apologize for not having all the dishes for the course ready at the same time," he said to them. A loud buzzing sound went off in his jeans' pocket. No doubt this wound sound strange to his two new Egyptian friends. He blinked and looked down at his pocket, before flashing a small smile at the guests. "Excuse me a minute."

He quickly withdrew a smartphone from his pocket, and checked to see why he'd been alerted. Maybe it was the Thieves' Guild?

And sure enough, when he checked his email, it was. Giichi Twinkieland, his contact, appeared to be in this same town. While he felt excited that he'd soon be doing his first job for the organization, he also couldn't help but spare a glance to Tech. She'd been so nice to him, but it looked like he'd have to take off soon.

A slightly mournful look moved across his face, and this would no doubt be visible to Ji and Anu.

Gail swore he'd return to her once this business was over, but for now he needed to come up with a way to make a graceful exit.

[Tech, maybe you could get alerted somehow by the cops about the disturbance at Priscilla's store, then Ji and Anu could come along.]

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
My phone rings and I rush toward it quickly. "Who is it? Oh, hi chief? What seems to be the emergency? ... Okay, I'm on it. I may not have jurisdiction down here, but that person won't know that. Luckily, I keep a few spares with me. Kay, bye."

I turn to the other three and explain. "There seems to be a disturbance at a grocery store, something might happen that'll be very exciting. I may need your help to calm the situation. I'll run down there. I don't want my car traced back to this house. Anyone who wishes to take any vehicles are free to do so, but until the situation is alleviated make sure you use stealth when coming back. I'll get changed and I'll be right behind you. Any questions?"

Ji and Anu blinked. Then, both stood up.

(Ji) "I say we come along, Anu."
(Anu) "...You always do like to get personally involved in matters like this. Very well, we're tagging along."

(EDIT: Gah, forgot to switch accounts... nobody'll object just this once, right?)

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
"What kind of disturbance is it? A robbery?"

Gail suppressed a smile. The idea of going vigilante on some loser punk sounded like a lot of fun. He just needed to gather up his weapons from the bike.

"I'll come too Tech. Meet you outside."

The wolf dashed out the front door and whipped open one of his saddle bags. He pulled out some brass-colored metal gauntlets, and began strapping them around his arms and legs. Gail thought about strapping on his revolver, but he doubted that would fly in front of a police officer. Perhaps he'd just keep it in the saddle bag until he knew he would need it.

After slipping over the hoverbike's seat, he started it up. The bike started to hum, and floated above the ground a couple inches. Calling back towards the house, he shouted, "I can take a passenger, if anyone wants to ride!"

RE: Vacationing with evacuees
I went into my room and put on my police clothes, equipped my night stick and my laser gun and some cartridges. This time this will be something easier to take down than some crazy robot from Robotnik.

I race outside and get on Gail's hoverbike. I explain on the way down to the the grocery store. "It isn't a robbery Gail. It seems like someone is overpricing their products and there's people inside the store that may cause the manager to flip a gasket and start a raid inside the shop. We need to get down there now and keep anything from happening."
