Battle of ground on Soleanna

I watch as two ships start moving to the jungle and I know for a fact that the war is very much possible. I know damn well that this isn't going to end well. I wish my other car was in my garage right now. Who knows how many people have either stolen it to get out of here or whether or not it'll be destroyed by these robots?

I step into my police car and follow ship five. It appears to have a lot of activity going on over there. Its only a matter of time before this voice on one of those ships releases the ground troops. As I get further into the forest, it appears that the ships are heading in slightly the same place.

I hide the police car in a safe place - behind some trees and watch for the ground troops to come down. This will definitely be a very great moment for me.

While I wait for any movements from the troops inside the ship, I call for backup.

[Rock]

'BOOM!' Went the robots behind him, his sword sheathed and his eyes looking towards the woods that would come forward in front of his spectrum of views, he began to walk forward, his arms now within his coat. "This isn't a very spacious place, obviously the city isn't that big... I already see the greenery." He started to move forward more so, his eyes scaled over the abysmal wake of potential danger.

The woods were deep and very dark, his natural sense of sight and hearing however made this nothing for him to worry about, and with his slow rising tension and calm exterior he would hear voices, looking to find out the voices of whatever was making such a disturbance. 'Are there more forces?' He climbed a tree, and gazed over the field, finally identifying the sounds of which he heard.

'I'll listen for a while... maybe i can learn more about this obviously vexing situation...' He sighed and started to look closer. "hm...?"

[Dr. Robotnik]

((I wanted to wait for Princess Elise to post something here before I made a move, but I wanna keep things moving since you guys are eager for a fight. Skipping Elise.))

By this time, Egg Ship 5 reached the forest behind Soleanna. Anyone watching would see it descending upon a broad clearing, bordered by large cliffs and trees. Ramps unfurled from the bottom as the craft touched down. Even as the ramps unfolded, armored swatbots began their descent to the ground.

These swatbots appeared to have considerably heavier armor than the ones patrolling Robotropolis, and they had different weapons too. Some sported assault laser rifles, while others held shields in their hands with smaller automatic fire lasers. Behind them, hover tanks rolled out to the ground as well. In the meantime, Egg Ship 1 hovered overhead, waiting for Egg Ship 5 to dump its cargo before it would also release its forces.

My reinforcements reached me in the nick of time. The chief parked beside me in the forest and saluted just before he aimed his MK90 Laser at the troops of robots. The other police officers park close by and hide in areas of the forest that face the robots.

The chief talks on his walkie talkie. "Alright my fellow police officers, are you set?"

The other police officers among the forest respond. "We're ready to take on the robots!"

I grin. "Let's take these bastards by surprise."


The chief commands. "Aim and fire."

A barrage of thirty five lasers came for the swat bots. Most of the lasers fly through the trees to create confusion. The laser fire aims at the robots' necks and heads. 10 seconds to charge.

[Rock]

(Come on Tech, you can post more and do better than that...)

"Damn, annoyances once again..." A whisper had shattered the silence he had created around him, the use of his body flipping from the trees, coming to the ground in order to "greet" the robotic minions of the "Eggman". 'These should be easy, however... I fear that this will become more trouble than it's worth... I shouldn't have joined this battle, curiosity only got the best of me...'

Once again had he began to see the ongoing slaves of the robot mechanic and all-around genius, his sword piercing through a number of them with one fellow swoop, his eye lids slanted as he ducked from ones punch and looked to another who had aimed a gun which shot a beam at him, the motion had shifted a she dodged blowing up the robot with a small smirk he cut into the body of the robot, breathing in, as more would come.

'Now, this will only be my demise if I keep fighting them in waves...' He watched as they all began to take aim, he leaped into the air, his katana outstretched to the right side, shifting his sword into a downward cleave into the robot, the electricity of the circuits showing as a glow hit the skin of the wolf, cutting off the leg of a robot who was aiming towards his head, as it shot downward he cleft one last time before beginning to run into the forest, as deep as he would be able to.

'I need to finish this at the source, that fat bastard...' He said to himself, as a hail of lasers began to shoot towards him. 'Guess that isn't so simple... the agony.'

[Rose Fox]

Rose watched from a carful distances as the events that were taking place played though. She was in range to see, but mostly likely not be seen. After all, they’re primary target is in front of them, not behind. Rose could have charged straight into action; but seeing how gun-crazy the police force were made her decided to stay back for a few moments. She needed the recovery time anyways in order to have enough energy to being the onslaught of robots coming out from the carrier. Granted, her legs could take the hard run from the city to the jungle, but that didn’t mean her lungs could. If only she could of replaced her entire body, instead of just modifying her feeble limbs and still have to deal with a weak upper torso.


Thought the general shock of the situation didn’t really help her either. She still felt dizzy after seeing the full-blown image of Dr. Robotnik, joyful requesting that Soleanna to surrender to his whim or be conquered. For a moment there, she felt as though her grip on reality was beginning to break again; and after so long she had to establish what the truth between what was fantasy was not. And now, after seven years of not only training but mental preparation, she goes out to finally give her revenge-


And Dr. Robotnik was suddenly alive.


‘ He’s dead. He’s not alive, he’s dead.’


But then just what was that she saw? An impostor? Why would anyone want to pretend that there someone who’s been dead for seven years?


“Whoever they are, they’re a damn fool…” Rose murmured to herself, watching as the robots board off the ramps while she started to get her blades into place, “…A damn fool with a –lot- of time and money.”

[Princess Elise]

As Robotnik's ground troops begin to unload out of one of the large egg ships, Soleanna's navy is already moving into position to intercept the bots as the move to enter the city fully. They were already pretty much in position to do this. Soleanna's ground troops are already spread out through key points of the city. At this same moment, the main egg carrier would receive a transmission from the ground, if Robotnik choses to put it through to his ship's view screen, he will see the image of Princess Elise sitting on what looks like an ornate throne, flanked by a pair of elite royal guards on either side of her. The princess's expression is flat and emotionless as she gazes into the camera.

"Seems the hour is pretty much up at this point and your troops have already begun to taint the soil of the fair city of Soleanna. I suppose you could have guessed what my response would have been when I didn't respond promptly. I assure you my good doctor, that we are not defenseless. You will NOT take this city as your own, I would sooner die than see my people ruled by a someone like you, who thinks they can just take anything they want no matter what is lost in the process. I firmly believe that if my father were still alive, he would be telling you much the same thing. The transmission then ends and emotion finally comes to Elise's face, that of anger, even stronger now since she had suppressed it during the transmission. She stands up and walks over to a large window, looking up into the sky at the air battle going on above the city.

((At this time, neither Elise, nor the military know that the Police are intending to assist in the battle, as while they would be funded by the Soleanna government, I would say they operate independently.))

[Dr. Robotnik]

A torrent of laser bolts flew out of the trees, taking the swatbots by surprise. Several of them fell on the spot. However, the others quickly took cover behind the more heavily-armored hover tanks, and started shooting back in the general direction of the police's fire. They couldn't see the cops, but they were hoping to get lucky. But this also allowed Rock to sneak up and get a few kills of his own, but he was quickly driven off.

"Squad 5A...taking heavy fire in the landing zone," one swatbot reported to Egg Ship 1, which was still hovering over the new staging area.

"We'll provide covering fire," the vessel responded.

A large cannon on the bottom of Egg Ship 1 pointed towards the trees the laser shots were coming from. In the sky above, the police officers would hear a whistling noise that seemed to get louder and louder. When the whistle reached a screaming sound, an explosion ripped through one of their police cars. Shrapnel, metal, and hot glass went flying everywhere, as the fire spread across the foliage around where the car was. In the sky above, the swatbots hurried to load another big explosive shell into the cannon. If the cops didn't get out of their firing zone fast, they'd start getting pummeled by even more shells.

In the meantime several smaller laser cannons fired in the general area of the trees where the shell landed. The guns above were firing purely at random into the brush, but they would probably get lucky with the volume of fire.

For the time being, both Rock and Rose were being ignored, in favor of focusing all fire on the more obvious target of the cops.

The swatbots and tanks continued to pour out of Egg Ship 5, but this time the swatbots were being more cautious in hiding behind their tanks.

"Looks like the cease fire is off...how regretful," Robotnik sighed. "Why must those I oppose always try to do it the hard way? Oh well...I suppose I'll come down there myself and join my forces. This looks like it could be fun."

The doctor smiled and got up from his chair, as he walked off towards the hangar bay of the Egg Carrier.

[Shadow]

As the swatbots cautiously advanced, seemingly safe behind the cover of their tanks, the Crimson Knight blazed across the city at breakneck speed, leaping and slicing past anything in his way as he rocketed full-speed towards the landed ships and the ground forces being deployed there. With Arondight in hand, held out straight at his side and at the ready, he approached the advancing troops without slowing.

Before him the Soleanna police force stood behind the cover of their cars, opening fire on the oncoming troops. Abruptly one of their cars exploded in a hail of fire and shrapnel: it seemed the heavy cannons of the ships above were being brought to bear on the resistance force. The Knight scoffed as he ran towards them, angling for the smoking crater. "Pathetic. They resort to such meager defenses as their local police force to repel the invaders. The government here is as weak as it ever was back in Capitol. I see I was right that I'd have to deal with this myself." The armor-clad hedgehog streaked past the police, using the hole blown in their line by the explosive shell as an easy path to get through to the other side. His speed was such that the police would see only a streak of red as he passed.

The advancing swatbots would have noticed it too, of course. Not that they'd have time to react: in a matter of seconds the Crimson Knight was behind their lines, streaking from bot to bot, delivering terrible swift strikes with Arondight without slowing, immediately moving to the next target. Hiding behind their tanks did them no good as the Knight practically danced across the battlefield, spotting his targets and cutting them down a second later, the red streak in his wake tracing complex random patterns across the battlefield. Within a minute he'd slain at least twenty bots and wounded more, and he continued his intense assault without slowing and without mercy, an unrelenting onslaught against a seemingly innumerable foe. The tanks he left alone: he didn't have the power to destroy them so quickly, so he'd left them for once he was through with the support troops.

I can't believe my eyes. We only fired one shot and they still found us. One of the cop cars were destroyed and my god did that frighten me. At least the cop car that was destroyed didn't have a fellow police officer that went with it.

I scream. "This enemy means business! Retreat!"

The other police officers didn't have to be told twice. The chief went with me in my police car and we got the hell out of there.

I sigh. "We tried chief."

The chief shakes his head. "We're no match for these suckers anyway." He asks over the intercom. "Any one hurt?"

Big-D responds. "Everyone is fine, except my car!"

(Retreating to the police station.)
