The Battle of Soleanna

[Tails]

Tails glances at Dulcy and can't believe his eyes as she plummets to the earth. He can tell that she is somehow paralyzed. Or at least her wings are.

Tails lifts his fist in the air, the one that didn't get any laser fire and vows. "Don't worry Dulcy, I'm coming to help! I just hope I can find her in all this smoke." He plants both hands onto the steering wheel and activates the binoculars on his targeting device. "Here goes nothing."

Tails is able to find Dulcy in the smoke and he cheers silently for a second or two. He lands the airplane close by to Dulcy and races over to her in the pursuit to protect her from anymore harm. "I'm here Dulcy." He lifts his arm that got shot with the laser very slowly and plants it on Dulcy for support. He comforts her while she's in this state.

[Qesun Vendak]

The good news was that the debris cloud was clearing. The bad news was that the debris cloud was clearing. Because Qesun had been using it for cover, it was the first thing he lost when it started to clear out. He panicked for a moment, caught out in the open where the SWATbots could see him and subsequently use him as laser fodder. On the bright side, he could see the others starting to gather on the nearby pile of debris. He just had to get to them without having his spots become holes.

He charged at the nearest SWATbot, putting on as much speed as manageable before jumping up and aiming himself at its head feet first. He was about to take something out of Sonic's book and try to use the 'poor' thing a spring board to hop over several of the others.

[Dr. Robotnik]

"Get off me!" Robotnik hissed, as he dropped the shield in his left arm. With his hand free, he started scraping it across the front of his chest, trying to knock Rose off like one would try to brush away a fly. For the moment, he was distracted from the heroes.

Qesun's jump worked like a charm, landing him near Chadin, Sonic, Tails, and Dulcy. The SWATbots in the area fired at him as he passed through the air, although their aim seemed to be slow compared to his speed.

Now that the heroes seemed to be gathering in one spot though, the SWATbots had a place to concentrate their attack. Some of them withdrew baton-like weapons from their utility belts, and began running at the heroes. The tips of the batons crackled with electricity.

Meanwhile, others stayed back and took aim with their lasers.

[Sonic]

Blinking in confusion, he quickly ran to the back of the robot and spin dashed the robots back; hoping that the robot would lose its grip on Chadin. He didn’t know why, but for some reason he thought Chadin was standing there fine, until Chadin wheezed out to him and he realized what was going on. He’d have to be careful next time and make sure he was paying attention.

[Decoe and Bocoe]

Decoe was about half way being done pulled up when suddenly the left arm began to move and managed to speed up his ascent. As he was quickly over the arm as it began going up Decoe managed to land safely, but not without a little annoyance, as he got off balance as he landed.

“HEY!!!” He shouted angrily towards the monstrous size Robotnik as he steadied himself; keeping the yo-yo’s wrapped around the robot’s arm to help maintain his balance, “ STOP.MOVEING.YOUR.-ARM-! I’LL DEAL WITH THE PERSON-THING-; SO STOP TRYING TO DEAL WITH THE THING AND DEAL WITH MISTER SONIC!!!

He was probably going to get scolded for that. But it was true; he should be paying attention to where Sonic and the rest of the gang were. He had to stay focused and not get un-focused.

‘Like he usually does…’ He thought bitterly to himself.

Though his attention was quickly caught as during the times he tried to get the person off the robot, in an almost freeze-frame mount, he saw what the person-thing was. It was a cyborg that was causing the Doctor so much trouble (other than that, a badly made android). But when he saw him it made him dawn a look of horror as he saw the cyborgs black eyes with red irises. That was just…..CREEPY. And he thought Shadow was scary. But it only lasted a brief second before the guy was quickly falling back to the ground. With quick reflexes, he quickly grabbed onto the three remaining yo-yo’s on his belt, and with his left hand threw them and managed to grapple hold of the falling assailant.

It didn’t matter whether or not he was climbing up on the robot; he wasn’t going to allow anyone to fall to their death. It…just wasn’t right. Either way, at least he had a hold on the enemy.

“HA! Got’um” he exclaimed happily as he began to pull the cyborg up instead of leaveing them hanging there.

Bocoe on the other hand had finally made it to the robot in general. Seeing the actions being taken by the local SWATbots, he decided to stay back for a little while before jumping into action. Might as well fight Sonic a little bruised up than fight him at full strength. Too bad the SWATbots wouldn’t learn that.

Bokkun returned to the shoulder and continued to watch the chaos at hand. As he did, he smiled mischievously as he looked to where Decoe was.




(Just as a note, because he does not know who Rose is, and based on my description of her, he automatically thinks guy. Plus, the post is a little intertwined with the next one. Just a note~)

[Rampage]

Not far from the city center where the majority of the fighting is taking place a lone Robotnik-esque hovercraft was zipping through the war zone. The sky was alight with laser fire from the defending Solenna military. But unlike the Swatbots parachuting down onto the city or the oblivious Swatpods flying carelessly into the streams of fire, this hovercraft is taking far more effective evasive measures.

At the controls sat a badger of all things. Not what one would expect to find at the controls of one of Robotniks machines of war. That is until you take a look at the left side of the badgers face and suddenly he would appear much more fitting. The entire left side of the badger's face is robotic, including the left side of his jaw and his glowing orange eye. But that is not all. His left arm and upper torso is also robotic.

"Well, well, well... awfully decent of the Boss to throw such a nice big party for me. Sure made finding him a whole lot easier." The badger chuckles with a metallic rasp to his voice.

Suddenly a laser bolt slices dangerously close to cockpit of the hover craft. The badger throws the control stick over to the left just as additional shots rip through the sky where he would have been moments ago. "Dang! These folks got some fight in 'em" He mused to himself. "Good, I'd hate for this to be an easy fight, wouldn't you agree, Delta?"

Behind the badger, a large, powerful robot stood at rigid attention with its eyes glued on the activity outside. Its menacing red eyes taking in every shot and triangulating the firing positions of each AA gun. This robot was far taller than even the imposing six foot height of the Swatbots raining down on the city at a jaw-dropping eight feet tall. More over, these Com-bots thick armour is painted in a forest camouflage pattern and boast a mini-gun in their right arm. Unlike the Swatbots, these Com-bots do not waste space and time with non-lethal armaments. Every weapon at their disposal is 100% deadly. These are the very finest machines Robotnik has yet produced back in the world where the Badger was from

The big bot finally appeared to look away from the window and acknowledge his commander. "Agreed, Commander Rampage. I have located at least six major anti-aircraft batteries throughout the city. Shall we disable them for the descending ground forces?" The big war machine asked with a deep and rhythmic robotic voice.

Rampage pondered over that idea for a moment. "Good idea, Delta. Have Charlie and Indy take care of it."

"Yessir!" Delta's large hand dinged of his almost helmet shaped head and turned to the other five Com-bots waiting at the rear of the hovercraft. "Charlie and Indy, prepare for hot drop. Operation: Seek and Destroy!" With impeccable precision, both Com-bots snapped a salute and turned in opposite directions to the port and starboard access hatches in perfect unison. The doors both slide open and waited at the doors for the signal.

"Eject!! Eject!!!" Com-bot Delta shouted. [And yes, that was a Transformers reference]

Together both Com-bots stepped out into the empty air beneath them. But rather than fall several stories and smash into the ground, both Com-bots deployed large camouflaged parachutes from compartments on their backs. Both drifted down to the ground without incident and as soon as their metallic boots hit the ground, their parachutes automatically retracted back into their packs. But if the sight of an eight foot tall green army man wasn't intimidating enough, as soon as their chutes were retracted, but Com-bots seemed to disappear into the thin air as their stealth cloaks activated. At that might give away their presence would be the heavy metallic footsteps as both units made their way towards their objectives. As it so happened the first large battery they were targeting also happened to be heading right in the general direction of Falina and Giichi. [Hint Hint]

"Lets see... what other havoc can I reap around here?" Rampage mused. However, before he got the chance to think of an answer to his own question, Rampage's ship rounded a large sky scraper and what to his wondering eyes did he perceive the gigantic likeness of Dr. Robotnik himself. "Well, mostly. I think he's giving himself a bit too much credit, but oh well." Rampage smiles as he finishes his unspoken thoughts aloud.

Rampage turns his ship towards the giant mecha and quickly spots what it is he's fighting. "Hm... Tall dark and chubby seems to have drawn a crowd." But then, as his robotic eye magnifies the scene below him, Rampage practically had a kitten. There, far down below him, was none other than Sonic the Hedgehog, and Tails too!!

"Hah HA!!!" Rampage leapt out of his chair and practically danced around the stoic Delta Com-bot. "That blasted hedgehog IS still kicking!! And here I was worried I'd never get the chance to rip him apart myself. Oh happy days!"

"Priority target sighted, Hedgehog!!" Delta announced his voice completely emotionless.

"Oh, you're welcome to take some pot shots at Sonic if you get the chance Delta, but I get to make the killing blow..." Rampage wagged his finger at the dangerous Com-bot like a mother scolding a child. "You and the rest focus on Sonic's pals."

Even if Delta was a Com-bot and lacked any emotions within its programing but you could still sense a feeling of indignation emanating from the massive Com-bot. "Affirmitive." It answered, somehow sounding almost offended by its task of dealing with Sonic's companions.

"Get ready Sonic, the fun's only beginning..." Rampage remarks as a wicked grin spreads across the left side of his face. But with his right side robotic, he could not replicate such an expression and as a result give Rampage's face a strange, almost maniacal look.

[Rose Fox]

She stopped dead again as she heard Robotnik’s voice but soon the sound of the shield crashing to the earth alerted her and snapped her out of a short daze. As she looked up, she could see the incoming hand coming straight down towards her. There was no way she could simply take out arm out and dodge that. And since the idea of getting turned to a pile of broken bones wasn’t that great of an idea either, she did the only thing she could do.

She quickly took her blades out and pushed herself out, avoiding the incoming hand but at a price of being far away from the robot’s surface as well as falling. Though she was caught by surprised as she saw a thin, tall, and yellow figure holding what looked to be glowing green wires for dear life; a look of horror on his face as she began falling.

What he was trying to do, she didn’t know, but she did know she had to think of a way to—

Suddenly a pain washed over her as her stomach was being tightly squeezed by wires along with some backlash from when she caught by Decoe’s yo-yo’s and her descent to the ground. Angry, she quickly looked up to where the yo-yo’s had come from.

“HA! Got’um.” She heard being exclaimed from the figure she had briefly seen before.

Sneering as she was quickly pulled up, her target changed. As though he was waving a red piece of cloth in her face, Rose was now like an angry bull in a bull fight as her attention was now focused on Decoe. As soon as she was over the arm, she made a bee-line to Decoe, climbing up the arm straight to him even though she was still vertical and the yo-yo’s still around her; still pulling her up which gave her an extra boost in speed.

[Dulcy]

A bit after Tails comes to her side to protect her, Dulcy slowly starts to come around. Her eyes soon open, but it's clear she's in a daze still. "I'll clean my room later ma..." She says in a voice that clearly says she's not all there yet and flops her head back down. Hopefully Tails can defend her from the approaching SWATbots because it looks like it's going to take a bit longer for Dulcy to recover. Perhaps some encouragement might help.

[Princess Elise]

[I guess it's long overdue for me to jump in here and do a Soleanna military update pose. So here goes!]

The Soleanna Army and Navy continue to battle on to defend the fair city from the invasion, It's looking like the ground troops have their hands full with the seemingly endless SWATbots, and are even getting a little overwhelmed by their numbers now. Some of the remaining Navy ships and Army tanks now start moving away from the still aloft Egg Carriers, which hopefully by now have been heavily damaged by the continued anti-aircraft fire. They make their way toward Robotnik's Mecha and begin to form a circle around the evil doctor and his machine of death and destruction.

Meanwhile, Elise continues to watch it all unfold from the palace. Saddened by the destruction she can see even from her distant point of view, and the death she knows it is accompanied by. She remembers what her father told her years ago though, and so she tries to be brave, and not let herself cry as she holds out hope that everything will be alright in the end.

[Chadin]

Sonic's spin attack shredded through the Swatbots weaker back armour and as expected the Swatbot released his grip on Chadin as it flailed about in its death throe and collapsed.

"Thanks..." I gasped as I tried to regain my breath. All of a sudden the ground shook as Dulcy came crashing to the ground.

"Dulcy!!" I half-wheezed / half-gasped in horror. I struggled to my feet to try and get to her, but between my scrapped up joints and still not being fully recovered from the Swatbot's death grip I stumbled back to my hands and knees. I yelped in pain as my already bloody knees got another bashing for good measure.

Just about then Tails' plane comes taxiing in and comes to a stop nearby. How the little guy managed to land his plane among all the abandoned hover cars and debris, I'll never know, but I guess its just a sign of how good a pilot he is or something.

Either way it didn't make a very big difference. As I started to recover, my ears and eyes darted around in all directions, taking in the full situation. In my opinion, we're seriously boned. Everywhere I look there's at least one Swatbot standing there. We're completely surrounded by the blasted things and to boot, Robotnik's mecha is standing maybe ten meters away!

But what had my greatest focus was the Swatbots rushing our position with some kind of electrified batons. That was something new. I'd never seen Swatbots wielding these types of weapons before.

It didn't matter anyway, new or old, they were a threat to my and my friends. 'Huh... friends... a few hours ago I barely knew anyone I could call a friend. I guess that's the funny thing about combat. When you meet people with a common purpose under adverse conditions it tends to make you more trusting than usual. In any event, I snatched my crossbow from the ground,sighted on the closest Swatbot's chest and pulled the trigger.
