The Battle of Soleanna

[Chadin]

"That's probably the best idea I've heard all day, Dulcy. As a matter of fact, if Robotnik's busy with Sonic, we might just have a chance to find a weakness in that over grown trash can. Those big engine pods on his back he's left exposed to us looks particularly promising. Let's do this Dulcy!!" I tighten my grip on Dulcy's harness as she banks towards Robotnik. My eyes lock onto those engine pods, but I hold my fire until we can get closer. I didn't want to give away we're chasing after Robotnik until Dulcy can get close enough to use her own breath weapons too. Better to let Robotnik focus on Sonic and leave him distracted to us for the time being.

[Tails]

Tails gets an idea. "Sonic, you distract Eggman and I'll see if I can't hack into his system. I don't think this plane is strong enough for a robot like this. I'll see if I can set the plane for auto pilot and evasive manuevers so you can get close enough, but I can't guarantee anything else."

Tails inserts a DVD inside of the disc holster. "CT23, prepare the hacking interface and activate auto pilot and evasive manuevers. I need to keep Robotnik distracted."

The airplane takes off at a far enough away distance to prepare to move around in case heavy fire shows up, but close enough that Robotnik is in range of Sonic.

Tails activates the key board on the airplane and searches for the right signal to find Robotnik's mecha machine. He makes sure to not give Robotnik an idea of what he's up to.

[Dr. Robotnik]

((This post assumes that Sonic got off the plane as Tails requested. Rose, if you don't want to do that, let me know in a PM and I'll change my post.))

Qesun's bullets pinged off of the jet engines on Robotnik's back, putting a few dents into the metal and leaving slight damage. Robotnik ignored the sounds though.

Tails would not have much luck hacking Robo's mecha. Only the communications system on his mecha broadcasted wirelessly, and even if that went down Robotnik had his own personal communicator on hand.

In any case, as Robotnik's ship neared the street Tails had landed on, the mecha suddenly lifted its legs up as the jet pack cut off and the wings folded in. The arms pumped outwards for stability as Robo Mecha skidded to a halt on the street, leaving twin gashes of torn up pavement behind it.

Finally though, he came to a halt standing next to Tails' plane. Mecha Robo raised its pistol again to continue the assault, but Tails was flying away again. Chuckling, the doctor let him go. After all, he wanted to focus on Sonic. Mecha Robo rotated to face the hedgehog, as the gun lowered to hit the new, smaller target.

"So...we meet again. Pity I wasn't lucky enough for the dimensional merge to destroy you. But I'll be changing that here and now. Prepare yourself, hedgehog!"

Two powerful laser blasts flashed from Robo Mecha's pistol. One went a little high and left a massive hole in the building behind Sonic, but the other was more dead on.

By this time Egg Ships 2 and 4 were now just over the edge of the city. Swatbots began jumping out of them, opening up parachutes as they fell. The sky began to fill up with parachutes emblazoned with Robo's face. They'd be easy targets for anti-aircraft fire, but Robotnik was definitely making up for that by using a huge force that'd be hard to stop completely.

Egg Ship 1 was further out from the city (since it was previously over the forest), so it would take some time to catch up to the others.

[Sonic]

Sonic stood there which a large smirk on his face, as he looked on the Robo Mecha in delight. He listened to Dr. Robotnik’s usual “Prepare to Die, Hedgehog!” speech as he always does before he saw the energy forming on the end of the laser pistol the machine was holding. Beginning to smile, he dodged the attack even on the first shot, standing off to another end as he pretended to “polish” his finger nails despite his white gloves as he whipped up and down on his chest.

”Still as slow as always, Doc.” He replied cockily, as he kept his eyes close. "Not to mention a bad shot. By the way, nice toy you go there. It shows you in a new light and all, but it also shows no matter how trim you are…” he paused as he finally opened his eyes and looked up towards where the doctor was, ”…you’ll still be as ugly as ever, -Egghead-.”

Now all he had to do was wait until all of that processed in his head before he would hear Eggman in his usual childish, yet destructive, fit of rage. He kept his eyes peeled for the next move Dr. Eggman would display as he had his usual “I’m too cool for you” smile on his face.

[Decoe and Bocoe]

“-THAT- wasn’t very nice!!”

Both Decoe and Bocoe had arrived to the battle scene recently, gapping in fear at the huge Mech while at the same time being extremely wary of Sonic’s presence. And now, with Sonic’s recent interjection, their fear of Dr. Eggman in the mecha suit was only more reinforced. Decoe was looking over at Sonic from a well hidden distance even away from the fight and landing points of the Egg Ships; his mouth wide open in shock. Bocoe simply looked over the hedgehog with wide eyes.

“And it wasn’t a very -smart- move either.” Bocoe replied after Decoe’s exclaimtion.

“I think it would be a good idea to –wait- before we try and get ahold of Eggman-sama, “ Decoe began, as he looked worriedly over towards the doctor’s mech, “After all, we don’t want to umm….add more frustration, do we?”

Bokkun looked over towards Decoe in an un-amused way, as he hovered next to Bocoe and had his arms crossed.

“Shouldn’t you guys be, I don’t know…..TRYING TO STOP SONIC?!!” Bokkun yelled, as he looked at Decoe angrily.

Decoe looked over dully to Bokkun with some aggravation.

“Do you –want- us to all get KILLED?! NO? Then that’s the answer!” Decoe snapped. Bokkun floated over to him with his pouting-anger face as though he was going to start something, which Bocoe wasn’t exactly all for. He smiled in a worried kind of way, before interjecting.

“I think as long as we wait for him to get closer, I think we can help. You know, do an….ambush of sorts. Because if we did –try- and attack Sonic head on well….we won’t last very long. After all, I doubt he’s expecting us.”

Bocoe waited for Decoe to give a reply, looking towards the mech as he did.

[Qesun Vendak]

'Well, now I know how Kaneda felt, except he had a bigger gun then I do,' Qesun thought grimly as he slid his bike to a stop. Granted, it didn't look like he could stay stopped for long with all the troops dropping in. Wait, dropping? That sounded like a great idea. He searched the sky for the one most directly above Robotnik's machine. 'Time to try another approach,' Qesun thought with a renewed grin. He hopped off his bike and leaned against it so to have something to steady his aim against, his face becoming stoic as he focused on this task, lining up on the rope for the parachute, taking two precise shots at two different strings, hoping to drop the Swatbot on Robotnik's mech.

[Dulcy]

Dulcy pushes herself to try and catch up with Robotnik's robo form, flapping her wings with everything she's worth. Once she gets within range, she calls back to Chadin. "Well, not sure how effective either of our attacks will be, but there's only one way to find out. Here we go!" She inhales a very deep breath and then spews out a torrent of ice breath, pulling out all the stops and putting as much power as she can muster behind this attack as she attempts to coat the engines in a layer of ice and freeze them up.

[Chadin]

"Nuts!! The fat man has landed." I pound my fist into my leg with frustration. "I had hoped we'd get hit Robotnik's engines BEFORE he landed. Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound. Try and fly right over that engine intake. I'll try and put a round right into the heart of that thing." I shrug and shoulder my crossbow. Just before Dulcy gets in range to fire her ice breath, I lay my sight on what I hope is some kind of vulnerable vent or intake and fire. As soon as the shot is away I pump another round into the chamber and wait for Dulcy to pass over to take my second shot.

[Dr. Robotnik]

"Wait till YOU see how ugly YOU are when I'm done with-"

And then a swatbot clunked down on Mecha Robo's head, leaving a nice big dent there. The mech began to rotate around to face the attacker, when Chadin and Dulcy launched their assault. Because Robo was turning, Chadin's shot missed, leaving a burn mark next to the vent while Dulcy's freeze breath hit one jet booster, locking it up.

Robo got the damage report on his screen a split second later, and he definitely was not happy about it. Although it wasn't the damage. Truth to be told, Robo would only need his rockets if he planned to run (which he didn't). It was them stealing his attention from Sonic that made him mad.

"How rude!" he shouted into his loudspeaker. "Wait for your turn! My battle is only with the hedgehog!"

Mecha Robo faced Sonic and thrusted its head forwards, causing the swatbot still on its head to be flung straight at Sonic like it was just a ragdoll. It looked rather comical with how the swatbot was kicking its legs and waving its arms around.

“Hedgehog alert!” it said in monotone, as it flew towards Sonic. “Priority one! Capture-“

Then Robo fired a single pistol shot at the swatbot. It exploded into a million pieces, raining shrapnel everywhere. Robo hoped some of it would catch the hedgehog and injure him.

By this time, a great number of swatbots had either hit the ground or were about to reach it. Several swatbots fired on Dulcy and Chadin with laser rifles, as they parachuted to the ground. Meanwhile, Qesun would find himself the subject of attention on the ground, as swatbots began to appear from behind buildings. They opened fire with stunbolts.

Adding to the chaos, swatbots who’d had their parachutes shot through fell from the sky, smashing whatever they hit. Everyone would have to watch for falling debris.

[Sonic]

He would have loved to reply to Dr. Robotnik’s small fit towards the dragon and the deer, but his next actions cut his action time short. He managed to run out of the way for any major damage, but that didn’t count the few close scrapes, scratches, and a cut or two from the shrapnel. Though it was nothing hindering, just a tiny sting of pain on his arms. His smile not as big as before, he continued his run towards the mech, his objective aimed towards the colossal sized feet. But that didn’t mean he didn’t have a bit of time to throw in some banter.

“Come on, Doc! Is –that- the best you can do?!” he yelled to him in a energetic tone, “I’ve seen grandpas that can work faster than you, considering you -ARE- one!!!”
