The Battle of Soleanna

RE: The Battle of Soleanna
By the time he had got on top of the robot, the giant mecha’s head shot off into the air; with Sonic on it. Smirking, he quickly jumped off and head down, directing himself to the back of the mech. Before he was close, the mech’s upper torso split in half; showing the Doctor; like a turtle finally coming out of its protective shell. He began to smile wide, as he fell, hearing the doctor’s last statement.

“So long, do-gooders! We'll play another day!"

“Not if I can help it!” Sonic exclaimed, mostly to himself as he was gaining on the good Doctor. As Dr. Robotnik flew by, Sonic was able to quickly grabbed a jarring edge of the Egg pod without making a sound. Holding onto the rim with both hands for dear life, he watched as he left the scene.

RE: The Battle of Soleanna
Rampage watched in muted amusement as Robotnik retreated. Well, it looks like his plan to save the Freedom Fighters from being defeated en mass by the good doctor had worked just a little too well.

Still, even if Robotnik was pulling back didn't mean he couldn't have a little fun first. That is, until he heard the self-destruct timer sounding off from what's left of Robotnik's mega mech. With a distinct sigh of resentment Rampage scowled at the other Freedom Fighters still present.

"Well it looks like you folks got awful lucky just now. As much as I'd love to have some fun with you all, that hunk of scrap metal is about to blow, so I'd just as soon find a minimum safe distance. I suggest you all do the same; but don't worry, you're all going to get a chance to tussle with Rampage another day. I guarantee it." Rampage glowered at the Freedom Fighters as he uttered with a dark and menacing under tone. And with that, Rampage turned and marched back inside his ship. It burned him deeply that he never got the chance to get in on the fight, he'd be sure to make a deep and lasting impression on Robotnik's enemies the next time they crossed paths.

After taking his seat back in the cockpit, Rampage initiated the thrusters and took off after Robotnik's egg pod. Delta, recall the other two Com-bots and establish a rendezvous point for them. I don't want to loose Robotnik's ship. The Com-bot nodded silently and already began its silent communications with its wayward units. Before too long they'd rejoin Rampage and once again follow after Robotnik.

RE: The Battle of Soleanna
[Okay, finally ready to try and get this character rolling again. Anyone else, left in this thread is MORE than welcome to join me.]

Chadin stared up into the sky for what seemed like an eternity to the awe-struck cervine. The smoke trail left behind by Robotnik's escape pod. On the one hand, he could not believe they had done it. They actually managed to beat Robotnik! But on the other hand, somehow their victory seemed quite, abrupt. That is, until Chadin's sharp hearing picked up the voice coming from Robotnik's mecha legs lumbering towards them.

Needless to say, my ears shot straight up and as I turned to run for it I called out a warning to anyone nearby of the danger. Whether anyone else heard me I don't know, because the next thing I know, I feel what might equate to a heavy weight boxer's punch hit me square in the back. I was briefly aware of an immense wave of heat and could feel myself in a surreal state of weightlessness. Unfortunately, gravity wasn't about to let this reindeer fly so easily and I slammed, into a wall.

I lay there, too exhausted, physically and mentally to move for who knows how long. Every part of my body was screaming with pain. I thought I could actually taste blood in my mouth. For a moment I began to contemplate if this is what it felt like to die...

RE: The Battle of Soleanna
"I don't know how long I lay there, waiting for the end. Time did not seem to have any meaning to me as I lay there. I felt myself repeatedly slip in and out of consciousness, but I was aware of little else.

From the farthest peripheries of my awareness, I thought I heard voices shouting. Maybe even footsteps. But I was so out of it, I simply didn't process it.

What I didn't know is that soldiers from the Solenna military who were sweeping the area for any of Robotnik's remaining Swatbots and had found me among the rubble. Battered, bloody and bruised, they were rushing me off to the field hospital. I didn't know if anyone else made it off that street or not. All I'd soon come to know is that I was one of the lucky ones.
