Express flight to Soleanna

[Falina]

She nods to Giichi as he points out where he believes to be the weapon controls, and it made sense, being within easy reach for the pilot at all times. She still thought dealing with the bots directly would be better, figuring that they would have to be less designed for combat. She followed Giichi up to the hatch and climbed out after him, watching what he did for a moment before jumping down the other side to take out the rest of the bots.

She aimed her jump to come down on top of one bot, holding her sword so that it would plunge into the bot's head as she came down on it. She then turned to a second bot and sliced its arms off, but as this happened a third bot moved behind her and grasped her tail, yanking on it hard. Falina let out a loud yelp and turned her head to look at the offending bot, aiming a kick at it's midsection to knock it back and off balance, she then turned around and in a small bit of anger at the indignity of having her tail pulled, she swung her sword at it's head with all her might, cutting it clean in half.

She finally felt she could relax a bit as she walked around to the other side of the pod to find Giichi, rubbing her tail gently, but then she noticed the flashing red alarm lights. "Um, I'm guessing that's a bad thing isn't it?" She asked as she looked around. "Let's get out of here!" She then cried as she made a dash for the nearest exit for the docking bay.

[Dulcy]

She watches as the disabled pods fall like stones toward the ground below, finding herself hoping for a moment that there isn't anyone below them that might be crushed by falling debris. She doesn't have much time to linger on that thought though as she notices all the SWAT Pods changing direction and heading over toward her and Tails. "Well, looks like ole Robotnik knows we're here." She says back to Chadin as she quickly begins flying over to join Tails, blasting any pods that got too close with her ice breath.

[Chadin]

I pump my crossbow back to prime my next shot as I watch the horde of Swat pods ahead of us descend on us like a vast swarm of angry bees. "Looks that way. What do you think about blowing past these annoying wasps and buzz his flagship? That's bound to tick him off real good."

Because my Crossbow has a very finite effective range, I know I have to be very mindful of the range of the approaching swat pods. As they closed in I took careful aim at the leading pod. With the years of training and real life battles under my belt, I'm not exaggerating when I say that I am very good at distinguishing the range of my targets and when they enter my killing zone.

As the first pod closed in, I fired, hoping to repeat my earlier shot and take the pilot out through the windshield. As soon as the first shot was away, I bumped in a new round. Dang, I realized, between this and the fights earlier today, I was almost already half-way through this first clip.

[Tails]

Tails grins as the swat pods got in range of his missiles. But sadly Dulcy at the moment is in range as well. He sticks with the machine gun turret and a couple rounds fire into a couple close by swat bots.

CT23: Tails, it appears that we're about to enter Soleanna. I suggest you prepare evasive manuevers.

Tails replies. "Copy that."

After firing the shots, Tails sets the throttle to high and prepares to make it hard for the swat pods to catch him.

Tails grins. "I'm ready Eggman."

[Nail Strafer]

Giichi didn't need to be told by Dulcy they needed to escape. Against fully-armored swatbots, he would not be much help. So he joined her in running towards the exit. As they fled, he tried to visualize the inside of the ship, so they'd have a relative idea of their location. They'd entered the ship from the starboard side. This exit they were taking would take them to the port side.

"Falina...we need to turn left when we can. That should take us towards the stern where the engines are."

In fact, they seemed to be coming up to an intersection right now. But before he could duck in, laser blasts flashed out of the hallway ahead of them. The cat quickly ducked into an alcove nearby. Looked like the bots had caught up to them. He could hear the loud clanking of heavy metal boots on the metal floor. Giichi took the opportunity to shout out to Falina, if she'd managed to find cover near him.

"Are you claustrophobic? I think it'd be easier to get around in the air ducts! For me, anyway!"

[Dr. Robotnik]

As the swatpods close in, they open fire with laser blasts. The sky looked like a colorful fireworks display, as the red beams tried to find their marks.

But while they were fast in straight lines, Dulcy held the maneuverability advantage. Two swatbots iced up hard as they flashed past her as she fired her ice breath. The pilots could not work the flaps to turn the ships around, so the pods continued flying in straight lines away from the battle.

Chadin's shot managed to cleanly hit one swat bot pilot through its windshield. However, it started to hurtle out of control, wildly barrel-rolling as it flew right for the deer and Dulcy.

Meanwhile, Tails' bullets finished off the two-iced up pods, since they were easy targets.

The angry swarm of swat pods broke up into two groups, with one focusing on Dulcy and Chadin, and the other chasing upwards after Tails.

In the Egg Carrier flagship at the front of the fleet, Robotnik smiled despite the attacks. The freedom fighters had taken too long to begin their assault. Soleanna was just up ahead. As soon as they broke out of these blasted black clouds, they would be practically right over it. Robotnik could not wait to see the new metropolis he'd be adding to his empire...
