Knothole Village

RE: Knothole Village
"Well..." I shrugged. "Like I said, there are really only two good options if we want computer parts. Either we raid Robotropolis, or we go back to Solenna. Solenna would probably be the safest bet, but I know Robotnik has been trying to get his hands on the Chaos Emeralds for years, so there's probably no place better to get data on them. Maybe the best option is you and Vanessa go back to Solenna, get all the computer components you think you'll need. Vanessa knows the way back plus you might need some help bringing back whatever equipment you need. Meanwhile I think I'll go do some recon in Robotropolis; maybe steal whatever components you might need while I'm there. Besides that, it's been too quietly lately and I want to know what old "Chubby-chins" is up to.

RE: Knothole Village
Vanessa was busy spacing out. 'plans' and 'thinking' did not interest her. Deciding to pick her nose instead of paying attention. "Man you guys talk too much."

RE: Knothole Village
He gave a strange look at Chadin when he mentioned the doctor. “He’s…been trying to get the Chaos emeralds?” His expression turned sour at the thought. This was not good. No doubt the fool didn’t know how to USE the energy properly; let alone right. Especially with what he was trying to do. Huffing as he looked in another direction as he began to rub his temples he changed topics.

“Yes…I think that sounds like a good plan. As long as you know what you are doing and don’t get into trouble. Do you have a way that we could communicate?”

RE: Knothole Village
I nodded solemnly in reply to Gerald's prior question about Robotnik seeking the emeralds. "I'd say its a safe bet to say that Robotnik's the reason why the worlds merged. If its not one thing, he's always trying to use the emeralds to power some kind of doomsday take-over-the-world machine of his."

"As for a way to keep in touch, sorry but I don't really have any radios or anything. Maybe that's something else you can pick up in Solenna. Besides that fact, I doubt anything we might have lying around would have enough range to reach you in Solenna and on top of that I'm worried Robotnik might zero in on any unfamiliar radio traffic inside Robotropolis. But don't worry about me, I've been a Freedom Fighter for years now. I can take care of myself."

The cat scratched her ear. Tapping her foot impatiently. "So when do we leave, I'm hungry and think Willies closes soon. They have the best ribs man." Vanessa was going off on another one of her tangents about food.
Then something clicked in her brain that actually mattered. "Wait your telling me you guys don't have cell phones?"
She whipped out a small black device. Flipping it open to reveal a keyboard and tiny screen. The keys glowing blue underneath "Ha ha oh wow, you guys are so lame!"

RE: Knothole Village
Gerald blinked with wide eyes as he brought his right hand up to his chin. His index finger stretched out while the rest of his fingers were loosely closed.

“Cell….phone?” He replied, as he looked at the strange device. “What is that? Is it like a mini-radio?”

If it wasn’t for the glasses, it would have been obvious to see that the wheels in his head were turning. Vanessa had managed to finally grab his attention. He walked closer to her and bent down as he looked at the device curiously. As he did this he felt his headache start to go away a bit. He seemed to forget about it for the moment as he was eyeing the cell phone she was carrying.

RE: Knothole Village
My ears quirked off in different tangents, a clear sign of confusion for a deer. "A cell-what-now?" I blurted out. Sure, I'd seen that little computer thing Sally took with her everywhere, but this thing was even smaller than that. Add to that the fact I'm hardly the most tech-savvy person in this little trio and I as good as lost. About the best I could tell about this thing was that it certainly didn't look like anything I'd ever seen Robotnik OR the Freedom Fighters using before. Most of the tech we had had been stolen from Robotnik and re-purposed. Understandable considering Robotnik captured the industrial infrastructure the Freedom Fighters might have been able to use against him in the first months of his coup.

RE: Knothole Village
"A mini-what? Huh?" It wasn't hard to confuse the blue cat either. Even if she was used to the tech. "It's a cell phone, you know you make calls and text and stuff - see watch this!" She flicked her fingers quickly across the key pad. Hitting a green button with the name 'Tancer' hilighted.

"I am sorry, the call could not be made due to temporary lack of service. Please try your call at a later time." spoke a robotic woman's voice.

"Uhhhh stupid cel phone never works ARGH!!" Vanessa pushed the small device into Gerald's possession. If she broke this one she would be out of luck, She didn't have 350+ dollars to buy a new one. "Fix it thinker, those things drive me up a wall!" Chadin lived in the woods, what was Vanessa's excuse?

RE: Knothole Village
Gerald blinked as she shoved the small device onto him. It was almost dropped considering the differing heights, but he managed to catch it in time. He looked at it curiously. It made….calls? Like a telephone? He wasn’t sure what to think of this, nor was he exactly comfortable with the command she gave.

“….You do –realize- I’d have to take this entire thing apart? Granted, I should be able to put it back together….but I don’t even know what this –IS-! How am I supposed to fix it? Well, without tearing it apart…”

He blinked more as he placed the device into his pocket and looked over at Chadin.

“-And to do any of that I need tools and equipment. Perhaps we should prepare to leave now, as to not waste time.”

[OOC: I was thinking about having a little time-skip since one was made over at the Egg HQ. But over in the Cross-country thread so we can join the next plot. That is, if you want to join in Vanessa. I personally do (for obvious reason) and maybe Chadin can too so he can already be going over. I don’t see much of a reason to post what happens in Soleanna anyways.]

RE: Knothole Village
[So you're suggesting that I start heading over to the next plot and you guys will join me is that it? Second, I'm having a serious brain-fart right now so I'm having a hard time thinking of a way for our crew to even REACH angel island short of hitch-hicking on one of Robotnik's ships. Any thoughts? Also, sorry I've been slow to post lately, brain-dead.]
