RE: Knothole Village
Being taller than most Mobian's sadly did not make me particularly stronger or tougher. Quite honestly, despite my size I'm a feather-weight. Add to that my overall ineptness with hand to hand fighting and you get a deer lying flat ton his back holding his midsection who is very rapidly getting frustrated.
"I know! I know!!" I growled back in frustration as I got back to my hooves. Even if Vanessa had difficulty communicating what she wanted me to do, she certainly knew how to push the right buttons. The lightning pattern on my fur had started to glow faintly. I lunged at Vanessa, trying to strike Vanessa with a right hook. Of course, like I said before, when it comes to hand to hand I am truly terrible at it. A seasoned fighters like her would probably see the strike coming a mile away. Even if I did land a hit, it probably wouldn't even hurt due to my lack of any real upper body strength. Of course, that didn't mean I wasn't supposed to try. Any time we got into these sparring drills, she told me not to hold back. She could take a hit no problem; me... well she had to hold her punches for me. |

RE: Knothole Village
Vanessa took about a half directly towards the punch. The hoof connected with her left cheek, sending ripples through out her face. Even with her head moving to the side, Chadin could clearly see a smile on Vanessa's face. She was enjoying every moment of this, especially getting socked in the face.
Even though she took the punch full on, she rolled her head with it lessening the impact on her brain by a lot. Something Tancer taught her. She took a short hop backwards with her fist up in a relaxed fighting stance. "That was a good hit Glow-face, for a five year old!" she teased him. "Ya feel that?" she saw him faintly glow. She didn't know what he was supposed to feel, maybe a burst of energy or even lagging feeling. Just something different. "When yah feel that just try and rip it out! Like this!" Most of the cat's left arm set ablaze as she thrust it forward to punch the air. Even a few feet away Chadin could feel the after wind of the blow. A strike that could definitely send someone to the hospital. The weird thing is, she had done a demonstration like this before for Chadin, just not with so much power behind it. It seemed the cat got a boost from the strike. Not surprising since she seemed to enjoy it more then anything. Only time either Chadin or Gerald saw her happier was when she was chowing down. They also saw her at her angriest, when she was informed that rationing was in effect. It was grave claim that she said she was ESG's second strongest enforcer. |

RE: Knothole Village
Gerald blinked a few times as he scratched the back of his neck. How were they…able to do that? Magic was always talked about being a fairy tale, but what was happening in front of him. The only answer he could come up with is, well, ‘magic’. Maybe that was a difference between humans and mobains; despite the appearance. And now the markings on Chadin’s face had already started to glow again. He really didn’t know what to make of it all. Maybe he could find an explanation; or figure one out on his own. One thing is for sure, he wouldn’t be able to get any good answers from Vanessa.
Placing his hand into his pocket he fidgeted around as he tried to grab all the little crystals he managed to carry. Once he managed to grab them all, he took his hand out and began to look at each single one. After all, even though there was light in the caves, it wasn’t nearly as bright as it was outside. |

RE: Knothole Village
I scowled bitterly at Vanessa for her chiding remark. She knew I wasn't all that strong, but it never stopper her from rubbing it in. Somewhere deep inside I knew that she was really just goading me to try and activate my new found powers, but in the heat of the moment it just never seemed to pick up on that.
When Vanessa told me to feel focus on the feeling, whatever that might be, it just seemed to disappear as quickly as it occurred. My glowing scars rapidly faded back to their normal chocolate brown colour which contrasted against my normal tan pelt. "ARGH!!!" I growled, in frustration with myself. "WHY CAN'T I GET THE HANG OF THIS!!!! The only time these powers seem to show themselves is when I get angry. But as soon as I try to start to concentrate on what is happening to me, these powers just disappear!! And the worst thing is that if being angry is the only way to activate them then they're almost going to be a liability to me because if I go into a fight angry I'm going to make stupid mistakes!!!" |

RE: Knothole Village
Vanessa pondered for a moment. It did tear her up on the inside seeing Chadin like this. She was trying to figure out a way to alleviate his frustration. She got a bright idea, with her arms stretched wide she charged the deer. At first it looked like an attack, but Vanessa was gonna give her 'brother' a power-hug.
She squeezed the deer in her grasp, not enough to hurt, but too hard to be comfortable . "Aw lil' bro don't worry, big sis is super cool but she won't dis you! You don't even need the stupid powers!" she tried to comfort the deer. |

RE: Knothole Village
[ First off, replace Door with Deer please. “She squeezed the door in her grasp” Just telling you your funny mistake. “D]
He looked over the crystals one by one, smiling while he did. But that soon changed when he looked at one shard. First off, it didn’t look like any of the white-clear-ish crystals that where in the cave. Instead the shard was violet in color, and there was a strange shine within it. It didn’t seem like how a crystal-structure could have a light reflected into the middle; and shine there. Blinking in confusion, he began to cup his hand over it; to see if it was just how the shard was reflecting the light. But instead of the faint light going out, it was still shining. Not to mention it felt relatively warm. Not in the aspect that it had been in his pockets, but something…distinctively familiar… Suddenly, he felt as though a ton of bricks had landed straight onto his face, as his expression went into shock. He looked back over to Chadin, and then back to the shard. He picked up the other crystals and placed them back into his pocket, except for the violet shard. He stood up, walking over towards the deer and cat with the shard in his clenched hand. “Excuse me Chadin…” he began, his expression turning into extreme concern, “ But…can I ask you a question?” |

RE: Knothole Village
"ACK!!! NO! Vanessa, don't!!! HEY!!! Let go!!! Oh for the love of...!!!" This was just downright embarrassing! Add to it that despite my best efforts to break out of Vanessa's grip, I wasn't going anywhere till she decided to let me go.
But out of that embarrassment and frustration with the stubborn feline clutching me like an overgrown teddy bear, my scars began glowing again. And as Gerald came closer with that crystal shard, a strange tingling sensation surged through my blood. My scars, which had been only faintly glowing before suddenly surged with an almost blinding light. Even my eyes burst to life with unnatural ambiance. Simultaneously as my scars burst to life with their radiant glow, Vanessa would feel a powerful surge of electricity surge through her body. The surge would not be enough to cause any permanent damage, but she certainly would be feeling that in the morning. It would also be powerful enough to cause Vanessa's muscles to reflexively clench and throw herself off me in response to the powerful electrical burst. But unlike the last time something like this happened to me, my scars continued to glow; dimmer than a moment ago, but glowing brightly nevertheless. |

RE: Knothole Village
The cat was blown back about 3 feet from the deer. Instinctively before she hit the ground she recovered her balance landing on her feet. Despite that she was still fully recovering from the surge of electricity. Her fur was puffed out and frizzy and she didn't look like she was all there. After a brief moment Vanessa shook out of it.
"I give yah a hug and this is what you do tah me you dirtyrat********************-" The irate cat took a moment from her cursing long enough to actually look at the deer "Woah that's AWESOME!" her rage melted away into amazement seeing the door glow. |

RE: Knothole Village
Gerald jumped back in surprise, seeing as the deer lit up in an electric furry. He didn’t have to look away from the blinding light he gave off, though it did cause him to squint even with his glasses on. At the same time, Gerald could feel the warmth of the shard in his hand.
“I…I do believe that answers my question…” Realizing that he was, in fact, thinking right his expression changed for the worse. “..Oh…oh no. This…this is not good…” He slowly sat down, as though he was hearing a set of bad news, shaking his head in a negative manner. “Well…I can safely say….I know what’s going on…..unfortunately.” |

RE: Knothole Village
Before it was nearly impossible for me to whatever was happening to me when my body started to glow. But now... Now it was impossible for me not to feel the incredible strength and energy surging through my body.
I stared, awestruck, at my hands and arms in amazement. There was something awe inspiring about the way the electrical burns along my arms glowed and pulsed in time with my heart beat. I have to admit that I was paying very little attention to Vanessa's long string of swears while I was distracted with admiring the wondrous phenomenon unfolding within me. Maybe it was just selective hearing,or maybe I just finally recovered from my own stupor, but I had to smile when I heard Vanessa marvel at the spectacle just like I was. Unfortunately, I also hear Gerald speaking in a very worried, dreadful way that made me forget all about the powers that I seemed to have unlocked at last. "Huh...?" I spun me head around toward Gerald; and with the moment now ruined the glow across my scars faded back to their ordinary dull chocolate brown. "What do you mean, Gerald? You look like you've seen a ghost." |
