RE: Knothole Village
Gerald closed his eyes as he sighed at Hamlin’s comment, slumping his shoulders in the process.

“I’m never going to hear the end of that, am I?” He mumbled to himself; silently under his breath.

Once straitening up, he looked casually over at Chadin before a glint caught his eye. Seeing the small, metal disk he looked curiously at it, wanting to bend sideways to get a better look at it before he stopped himself. For now he felt as though it was best to wait and ask later. Looking back over towards Vanessa he sighed. Firstly, he wanted to ask why in the world she was using ‘cool’ with people. Though then again, he wondered what kind of langue she was speaking anyways. Not that he could understand what she was trying to say, but he just didn’t understand the slang she was using. Shaking his head at this, as it was better to not think of it at all, he spoke up.

“Miss, I do believe they’re simply being cautious. After all, in this situation, I believe they have a full right to it. This definitely doesn’t sound like some sort of movie serial villain.”

[Note: Back in the day before television, movies would always have something before the movie. Sometimes it would be news reels, or animation shorts, but sometimes there would be serials. They were basically like your early television show. One of the most famous of them was Perils of Pauline. You know, guy with the twirl-y mustache and the train... But they would also have science fiction serials like Buck Rogers, Commander Cody, and Flash Gordon. Which is what he's refering too. The villains I recall are very cartoon-ish in a sense in those kinds of serials. Just a small history lesson in case you didn’t know~]

RE: Knothole Village
"Come on, Vanessa, settle down... please? Picking a fight with your allies is not a great way to make a good first impression." I pleaded with Vanessa. I sort of made a resolve to ask Vanessa more about these 'gangs' she keeps talking about all the time. Of course, getting a clear answer out of Vanessa would be a challenge in of itself. Maybe Gerald knew something more about gangs. At least I could get a straight answer out of him.

RE: Knothole Village
The blue cat looked back from Chadin to Gerald. Feeling rather ganged up on with the duel scoldings. Never the less her hot temper wasn't settling down.
"If you think I'm go-"
Vanessa stopped mid sentence. Her stomach making a loud grumble.

"Glow-face, I am hungry!" she whined out.The fire gone from her belly, replaced with the hungers of pain.

RE: Knothole Village
Once again, Gerald seemed to shake his head out of bewilderment.

“Well, perhaps now she’ll settle down if the people here give her a good meal.” Gerald replied with a slight smile on his face, as he attempted to joke. Thought it would come off very awkward and strange, especially since it came from him. Lifting up his left arm and scratching behind his neck with a small space of silence, he spoke up again.

“Now would probably be a good time to show use around, right? After all, the Miss is hungery…”

RE: Knothole Village
The hog, Hamlin sighed and waved the small trio to follow him. "Alright, c'mon you can explain everything over lunch."

Right about then, even my own stomach was starting to growl a little. No where near as loud as Vanessa, but nevertheless, I could feel it's presence.

[Maybe this would be a good spot to skip over the characters getting acquainted with the village etc? I don't think I really want to go through a big long tour etc of the village. Mostly cause I anticipate there is going to be a lot of long winded explaining of the village on my part. I'd rather just skip forward a bit to where we can actually start doing stuff again.]

"See, didn't I tall ya he was smart?" Vanessa said with an air of "I told you so".
The blue cat stayed behind her 'younger brother'. Not wanting to cause any more trouble in the hopes of getting something to eat sooner.

RE: Knothole Village
[Okay, so I'm going to skip a head a couple days and just assume everyone has had a chance to integrate themselves however they like into the vilage]

It had now been a couple days since we first arrived at Knothole and as much as I had wanted to get back to the business of Freedom Fighting again, Doctor Quack, the village's kindly old water fowl physician promptly advised that I avoid such activities until I had fully healed. Of course, that didn't stop me from training. Besides practicing and sharpening my marksmanship with my laser crossbow, I also had begun training with Vanessa.

Ever since these strange new powers began to show themselves with increasing frequency, I figured I needed to learn how to control them. Heck, these powers might even be an asset to me against Robotnik if I can learn to harness them. That is... assuming I ever learn anything at all. See, I asked Vanessa to help me because she already has her own, unique powers and can use them with such proficiency that she hardly has to even think about it. The problem is... Vanessa is the one who's teaching me... Don't get me wrong, she's got her heart in the right place... I think... She talks so fast and jumps from one topic to another, completely unrelated one so fast and with such regularity that it is extremely difficult to follow what she's talking about. I mean, heck I think in the space of time it's taken me to think of all this, she's jumped between three different topics while yelling at me to pay attention.

And yes, if you couldn't guess by now, I'm currently in the middle of one of these training sessions with Vanessa, but because of her own distracted train of thought now MY mind has begun to wander.

[Hope that give you a bit of a kick off point Vanessa, wink wink. XD]

RE: Knothole Village
The blue cat let out a groan. “Listen Glow-face, you have to feel it!” with another burst of speed she was in Chadin's face. A light tap from the blue blazer still packed a solid punch. She made sure to avoid hitting anything still hurt. Vanessa knew when the deer got mad his lightning pattern emerged. She was a spaz but fighting she knew very well. Even if she couldn't communicate it very well. Vanessa said the one thing she knew would rile up Chadin up. “C'mon, Robootknack would have kicked your ass by now.”

RE: Knothole Village
About that time, Gerald had just walked up; wiping his forehead a bit as he watched the two converses. He didn’t bother to announce his presence as he didn’t want to interrupt anything important.

The events that passed in the few days were enlightened, though strange. First and foremost, he found out that he was indeed in the future. By what people had told him, he estimated that he must be around 115 years old, which meant he was 90 years into the future. It would explain his limited knowledge of events. Secondly, he was able to see what sort of advancements they had. Though small, and not as much as he knew they did have computers, which was something he never heard of. He would have liked to take a look at one, but seeing as dismantling the only one they had didn’t seem like a sport thing to do. He also had managed to find an underground cavern that wasn’t being used to set up his own little lab; and he had found some crystals while cleaning it out to boot.

But, in many ways it didn’t explain the strange feeling he had. Even though he remembered everything clearly before this trip through time and space, he felt as though he was missing something. Like he had amnesia, but he still remembered things perfectly. It also didn’t explain how he knew things that he felt he shouldn’t. Even though he never heard of a computer, he felt like he knew it quite well; like it wasn’t anything new. The Mobain’s around him was another example of that feeling. He surely didn’t know that they existed, but then, he did. And despite managing to fall asleep he was having on and off headaches. He didn’t bother to ask a doctor about it because he knew he wouldn’t get an answer. The doctor would be just as lost and confused as he was.

Sighing, Gerald sat down on a log as he continued to watch Vanessa and Chadin.
