Knothole Village

RE: Knothole Village
Of course Vanessa wasn't paying attention to anything Chadin had to say about not knowing the ESG. "Hey Glow-face, what are you doing?! This is no time time to be playing around, you're supposed to show us how to get into that Slothole village and some food." She poked her head inside the trunk, deciding what ever she thrust herself forward.

She landed square on her chin, her lower body arched forward bending her into a crescent shape. It was a good thing she was very flexible, or that would of hurt. "Glow-face" she said standing up, picking hay out of her fur. "I am still hungry."

RE: Knothole Village
Gerald let out a sigh as Vanessa entered the tube. She was...weird. And he thought his wife was different from most women. She obviously didn't top this Vanessa character. He looked at the opening in the oak with a questionable look. He was hesitant for a momment before he finally went through the hole. By the time he would be down, Chadin and Vanessa would probably have already gotten up.

When he landed, he landed hard. But then again, phyical activies weren't his best point. Sitting up from the file he was covered in hay; his glasses were still on his face but crooked as he gave a somewhat balfed look.

RE: Knothole Village
"Relax, Vanessa, we're here." I chuckled and pointed their gaze toward the quaint village tucked away within this hidden valley. The tree canopy high above made the village all but impossible to see the village from the air. To one side of the valley a gurgling brook poured out of one of the valley walls to create a trickling waterfall. A wooden channel dipped into the falls, leading to a spinning water wheel. Strewn along the brooks shore and hidden among the trees and bushes were dozens and dozens of thatched roof huts. At the very heart of the scene, on the far side of the brook where an arching wooden bridge directed the gaze to the large, sweeping curved roof. From the floor looks of it, the building might be some sort of community gathering hall.

Already some of the locals had noticed their arrival. A few mothers quickly ushered some of the youngsters into their homes. I couldn't tell if it was because were were simply strangers or because they had seen Gerald. I certainly hoped they were willing accept Gerald's help, otherwise this could get ugly.

"Ohh, hey look Glow-face, maybe we could stay here on the way to that place you're talking about!" she grasped the deer in another sisterly embrace. Attempting to point his gaze. "Hey thinker! THINKER! Look we found a village!" she called back to Gerald. Good thing she rarely used names, as calling Robotnik out would have incited a panic.

The blue cat began to wander aimlessly into the village. Attempting to enter the first door she found. She had entered meat seeking mode

RE: Knothole Village
“I really don’t understand her….”Gerald whispered, mostly to himself.

He finally stood up, making sure to dust himself off as well as pick away at any strands of hay that might have gotten caught in his hair. Looking at the village, he took his glasses off and squinted slightly. The village looked quaint, though primitive. The area they were in though was very beautiful. But something also felt incredible off to him; and he couldn’t place his finger on what. After a few moments of looking around and putting his glasses back on, it finally hit him. He felt off because everything was child-size. At least, close to child size. And since he was bigger than most people, he felt like some sort of giant. He was now beginning to feel incredible awkward in this place.

And what was worse, he was beginning to feel dread. He hoped Chadin was right, unlike his gut feeling. He never could stand complete rejection; especially when he didn’t do anything.

“Well…” Gerald begin, his voice somewhat hushed, “This is diffidently something else…”

RE: Knothole Village
I grinned at Gerald's remark. Even if he'd meant his retort for himself, my hearing is too good for most whispers to slip by my notice. "Yeah, I'm still trying to figure her out for myself. But she's got a good heart. She's just a little... quirky..."

"Hey you!!" A large hog with a pocketed sash came running up to the newly arrived trio; cutting off Vanessa at the bridge before she could cross it and enter the village. "Where did you come from!!" The big hog didn't sound overly threatening but he certainly did seem to be all to welcoming either.[/color]

[Sorry for the delay guys, I've just been going through a MASSIVE writers block for this part here.]

RE: Knothole Village
Vanessa repeatedly tried to get past the swine. Going from the left, then from the right. She gave him a huffed look. Wondering why he wouldn't let her through.
"So you wanna fight, huh?" The blue cat's fist ignited into a blaze as she was about to lunge straight at the boar. She found herself not moving any where though. Someone was holding her back. "Aw c'mon glow-face I am gonna mop the fl-" she found her mouth covered by a hoofed hand. She whined in Chadin's grasp giving up a weak struggle after a few seconds. It wasn't so much Chadin holding her back, as Vanessa not really struggling to get free.

((Trying to give a push, maybe it'll let loose the juice for yah Chadin.))

RE: Knothole Village
Gerald stepped back as he saw fire come from the cat’s hands. Why was fire coming from her hands? Did magic somehow –exist- with these creatures? He could have thought of many more questions, but he felt as though he wouldn’t get any answers soon. Shaking his head slightly as he walked up towards the bridge, he sighed.

“Miss, I don’t think this is the right time to be fighting…” He mumbled in a concerned tone.

He figured that he’s saying so wasn’t going to do much, but at least he tried. He looked over at the hog blinking, though all that anyone would see was a slight face twitch. He wanted to speak up, but he wasn’t feeling particularly brave at the moment. He looked over towards Chadin, hoping that he would shed some light on the matter.

RE: Knothole Village
[Yeah, that'll about do it. Thanks XD]

I when I saw the flames erupt from Vanessa's hand I quickly jumped out in between them. I may not be the strongest buck in the world, but at the very least I could push these two apart before someone got hurt. "Whoa! Vanessa, take it easy! We're all friends here."

"Sorry about my friend; she's just hungry right now. My name's Chadin. I was here a few days ago with Dulcy before we left to fight Robotnik in Solenna."

That appeared to get the hog's attention. He lowered the club he'd been carrying. "Oh yeah... now I remember you. You were with a different cat then though. We feared the worse when you didn't come back after a day or so. My name's Hamlin by the way."

"We stopped Robotnik's conquest of Solenna, but I was badly hurt after the battle. I spent the past week or so in a Solenna hospital. That's where I met Vanessa. I met Gerald here on the way here. They both want to help us fight Robotnik." I explained.

"You sure they can be trusted? I mean, that one is a human after all."

"Do we really have the numbers to turn anyone away?" While I was speaking, I had my back turned to Gerald. Being so much taller than anyone else, he'd have to difficulty noticing the faint glint of light coming off the small metal disk on the base of my neck. Up to now, I'd been facing Gerald, but now, he'd have an easy view of that disk; and given his scientific curiosity he'd no doubt have questions about that later on.

It was a fairly weak argument, but the hog nodded in understanding. He knew better than I did how few of the active Freedom Fighters were left in the village. If they were to continue the fight, they need any help they can find.

RE: Knothole Village
"So what if he's human?!" Vanessa piped up indignantly. "He's super smart! Look, he even has glasses!" her heart was in the right place. Judging a man on his character not his looks and all that, but she was hitting stereotypical pitfalls herself.
Once again she was in the hog's face, staring him down. "Lil' bro are you sure these are cool people?" she looked back to Chadin. "They aren't even giving us a test or jumping us in. We should at least get a chance."
