RE: Quest for old sap! Drake in the forrest!
Drake looked back at her then back to where he wished to walk. Even with out his wounded leg, losing this doe would have been nearly imposable. Also the constant questions where taxing his concentration. While moving forward at his hindered pace he gave her a rather brief response. "Because she wants it."
He stopped in front of a fourth tree, it was clearly his next target. Large and old, this must have been the oldest tree yet. |

The moment she spotted the old tree, and he stopped, her heart skipped a beat. She was not going to just stand by and watch him do this a fourth time. She quickly runs to stand between him and the tree, her sword held at the ready in both hands. She gazes firmly into his eyes and digs her hooves into the dirt a little. "You are not going to touch this tree!" She said in a firmly defiant voice, apparently her anger bringing confidence.

RE: Quest for old sap! Drake in the forrest!
The large fox let out a grumble, He took on his stance to preform the dark wing flaps, this time though when he thrusted his wings back the tree wasn't his target. The doe was and she would soon feel herself moving towards the dread knight if she didn't move herself out of the way.
Relic out stretched his left gauntlet, it was easily capable of grappling most of her body with in it's grasp. The thickest piece of armor he had, his over-sized left gauntlet would be more then a match for Falina's gladius. |

Falina blinks in surprise when she feels that gentle but persistent pull on her body, quickly digging her hooves into the ground a bit more and moving away, nimbly ducking out of the way of the gauntlet, only to attempt to get around to Relic's side, and stab her sword at the joint in the armor that protected his uninjured leg.

Relic moved his left forearm into the way of the attack. The sword bouncing of the tough metal gauntlet. Turning his hand around, he made a backwords grab at the sword. "Enough of this time waste." He proclaimed. Agitation ran high in his deep voice.

She grits her teeth as her blade is deflected by his gauntlet, and looks up at him as he speaks, only to gasp a bit as she feels him grasp her sword. She quickly puts her body weight into leverage as she tries to pull her sword out of his grip. "Saving the forest is not a waste for me. Like I said, this is my home, always has been, always will be. I will not allow you to kill another generations old tree."

Relic moved his arm with the direction of the force, before yanking with his ungodly might. If she chose to hang onto the sword she would enjoy a free flight a dozen meters to his right. "You must live under a rock then!" He answered back, referring to the fact that houses contained wood. "this is not yours, child, no one owns the forrest."

When he yanks with all that force on her blade, she loses her grip and watches as her sword flies a couple dozen feet though the air before biting into the ground and standing partially upright. She then turns back toward Relic as she takes a couple of steps back. "There is a difference between using the wood from an average tree to make ones home, and going around senselessly destroying the oldest trees in the forest, just to get their sap, and leaving the rest of it to just rot on the ground. I know the forest is not mine, it belongs to everyone. But everyone should strive to protect it, so that it can continued to be enjoyed by all."

RE: Quest for old sap! Drake in the forrest!
He drew his gigantic sword from his back, making sure it passed clearly through the doe's field of view. "Her wishes do not concern what should be." He swung the sword downward, over Falina's body, even with bad leverage his sword shouldn't have barely scratched the tree as it had done. With his left hand he made sure to clear the doe from around him with a much more gentle push then last time, He wanted a clear path to take a full powered swing.

RE: Quest for old sap! Drake in the forrest!
She instinctively ducked when he swung the sword over her, even though it was done with the clearance to not hurt her. As he pushed her more gently this time, she staggered backward a bit, then took another moment to look him over, then turn toward the tree that he was about to destroy like he had done with the last three. She now realized that she couldn't stop him, as much as she wished she could, he was too big and too strong for her to stand up to alone. So, with her heart hanging heavy, she retreated, taking her sword and running off into the woods to find help.
She went in the direction past the large tree that Relic was about to destroy, and soon spotted what looked like a village in the distance. (Exit to Knothole.) |
