Falina
Name: Falina
Age: 18 Sex: Female Species: White Tailed Deer Height/Weight: 4’ 7” / 103 pounds Faction: Alignment: Hero Appearance: She has a tall, slim, lithe, athletic, figure with enough muscle tone to show that she takes care of herself and keeps herself good and fit. She also has long, slender, deceptively strong unguligrade legs, and is overall quite beautiful. The majority of her body is covered in light cocoa brown fur, though the front of her torso and neck, inner side of her legs and arms, around her mouth/nose, inside of her ears, and of course the underside of her tail all bear white fur. She has cinnamon colored hair that comes down to just above her waist, and matching colored eyes. Her fingers end in black hoof-like nails that she keeps rounded to a soft point, at a length of about a third of an inch. She has Clothing and Jewelry: She wears a short sleeved light buttercup yellow silk tunic dress with forest green trim. Around her waist is a simple white braided rope belt tied with an adjustable sliding splice knot. She also wears a gold necklace with a beautiful, and expensive looking pendant, it is shaped like a star, open in the middle, where a shape that looks like a small patch of forest is suspended. It is a six generation old family heirloom. Personality: Falina is a fairly shy and reserved person, particularly around anyone she doesn’t know. She’s always been that way, since she was little. It’s hard to get her to open up, but if your patient with her and really make the effort to be her friend, you will find that she is loyal till the end with anyone she trusts, and is willing to do just about anything to help her friends, even putting her own life in danger to save someone who is in trouble. Family: Mother: Floraine Father: Roscoe Weapons: Gladius: The rather simple sword has a 22" double edged blade and an 8" handle with no hilt guard. The sword is very sharp, and tough enough to slice through the joints of a SWATbot's limbs, or stab through the somewhat thicker armor in sections of it's body and head, while being short and light enough that Falina can be nimble with it in battle. Both the handle and the hilt are a medium brown that matches her fur rather nicely. History: Falina grew up in the mountains of the Great Forest, isolated from a lot of what was going on with the Great War and all, though she did know that a few of the other deer did leave to help in the war, with some coming back and being considered heroes. Her mother tried her best to raise her as a proper doe, but her father knew the world was dangerous and even up in the mountains, they may not always be safe. So he taught her all the martial arts he knew, so that his daughter would have the best chance of defending herself if she ever had to. He made a point to teach her that even a larger opponent could be defeated if she used their own force against them and learned to exploit any weaknesses. When she wasn’t training with her father, or being yelled at by her mom for not being ‘ladylike’ enough, she usually would be found having fun with her friends. Since she was an only child, she was always rather shy and reserved, and so she didn’t have many friends. However, the few she had were very close to her, and her best friend was a buck named Chadin. She would often watch him as he trained in marksmanship with his crossbow. Chadin even tried to teach her once, but it was quickly discovered she was a terrible shot and never really got much better. They also spent a lot of time playing in the forest, and, much to her mother’s dismay, exploring the mountains. Chadin even took her fishing a few times. It eventually turned out though that her father was wise to have taught Falina how to defend herself, and let her experience life as it was rather than shelter her as Floraine would have wanted. This is because one day, much to everyone’s surprise, the Overlander that had helped to lead the mobians to victory in the Great War, Dr. Julian ‘Ivo’ Kintobor, betrayed the king and took over Mobitropolis. He changed his own name to Dr. Robotnik, and renamed the city Robotropolis to match. He then set his sights on conquering the entire world. It wasn’t long before her home came under siege by Robotnik’s robot army. They set the whole forest on fire, which really made Falina angry. She wanted to fight the robots, but even more than that, she wanted to make whoever sent them pay dearly for burning her home. It was her father though that made her see reason, and told her to run, and run she did. She ran and didn’t even look back, but eventually, she realized that while she had managed to escape, she was also lost. She tried to go back and look for any signs that her family or anyone else she knew was still around, but she never did manage to find her way. So she finally gave up and began to wander, eventually coming to a small village hidden in the Great Forest. After coming to live in the village for a short time, she met a wolf who was just a bit older than her father. He was both a master swordsmith, and a master swordsman. He was a veteran of the Great War as well, and had been injured fairly badly in one of the battles. One of the things this wolf had done in the war, in addition to personally fighting, was to develop a special alloy, which combined with some skillful forging techniques, could be made into weapons that would pierce metal plate. She would train under the wolf for years, learning to fight with a sword, building on the basics her father had taught her. However she still would spend time practicing the hand to hand arts, knowing she would have to resort to them if she was ever disarmed, and they may come in handy other ways too. She soon picked up on the feeling that her new teacher hated Robotnik, and wondered perhaps the reason he put such a strong effort into teaching her every thing he knew, was that he couldn't fight himself anymore, and passing his knowledge on to someone who would fight in his place was the next best thing. What she mostly tended to do during her free time was explore the forest. She really enjoyed it, and spent much of her time in the forest studying the plants and animals. This happened to pay off one day when she happened upon a field of strange plants that seemed to be able to dissolve metal down to the point where it molecularly falls apart. Immediately realizing the potential of such a plant, she focused much of her studies on it from that point on, and eventually discovered a way to extract the metal eating chemical from the plants. When Falina finally turned 18, she decided she was both old enough, and had enough training that she could finally leave the little forest village and join some freedom fighter group to help fight Robotnik. Before she left, the wolf gave her a new sword forged just for her, made to be able to cut into the bots she'd be facing in the fight against Robotnik's forces. When she left, her plan was to seek out one of the bands of freedom fighters and join them. She didn't get terribly far though, before the sky suddenly flashed a bright white and the world began to twist and alter itself before her eyes. She must have fainted after a few moments, as she awoke later after the merge was complete. She has no idea at this point what has happened, but she continues on her journey for now, trying to find a group to help in the battle against Robotnik. Moves/Combat Style: Falina really prefers to fight up close and personal. It's what she excels at and thus what she's been training in her whole life. She's a terrible shot with any sort of ranged weapon, to the point where she's almost better off not even trying. She is a little more skilled with her sword than with her hands and feet at this point, as it's more of a focus in her day to day training, but she still keeps her other skills up and most would not want to mess with her whether she has her sword or not. Skills: She is skilled in both Jujutsu and Kendo, from her years of training in both arts. She also has learned a lot about the forest and knows of plants that are good for healing, are poisonous, and even how to turn the metal eating plants into a usable weapon. Strengths: She is a quick and nimble fighter in close quarters, and teds to be very good at using her enemies own strength and attacks to her own advantage by finding weakness in the way they fight and exploiting that. Her skill and accuracy with her sword is also top notch. She also has very sensitive ears, giving her excellent hearing, and also an acute sense of smell. Weaknesses: Though she's not terribly weak, all things considered, she's not exactly strong either, and as with most deer, has more strength focused in her legs than her upper body. She's also a terrible shot with ranged weapons, to the point that it's almost not worth her even trying. Her acute senses have their drawbacks too, as extremely loud sounds can severely disorient her, or even debilitate her for a time, and powerful odors can overwhelm her senses as well. Lastly, while she has a decent amount of training and practices martial arts daily, she has no real combat experience, and is actually a little afraid of going into battle with the high stakes of a real fight. It will take her some time to get used to it all. |
