RE: Egg Command Tower
The doctor beamed a large smile as he basked in the praise. With an ego as big as his, he couldn't get enough of it. This Rose was much, much more like the old one and he appreciated that a lot more. However the question about recording surprised him a bit. Did she know that he'd been recording both Snively and herself ever since they got here?
However, his ego was far too big to let himself be taken down a notch by admitting the truth, so he lied straight to her face. "No, I'm not recording. But I can turn off the camera in here if you like." |

RE: Egg Command Tower
Rose gave him an unsure look.
“Doctor, quite frankly I’m shocked by that statement.” she began sounding surprised. “After all, you don’t really know me or any of others so much. If I’d been in you’re place I’d keep an eye on everyone to see where they’re loyalties lie....” She wasn’t sure what game he was playing at. There was no way he could have been so careless as to not have security keep track of everyone. Certainly what she would have done. Which means he was either being incredible absent minded, or he was lying straight to her face. She wasn’t sure which one was worse. Then again, perhaps the first one. Lieing straight to her face at least meant he was just trying to trick her as to not let her guard come up. “ I wouldn’t mind if your turned the camera’s off.” She replied somewhat cautiously,“ As well as the audio if it happens to have audio capabilities. I would like this to be a little secret just between you and me. You know...a little trust building you could say. Doctor to Doctor Confidentiality....” |

He kept a careful poker face up as she said this though. Then she mentioned she wanted the cameras off for some reason. The doctor had to wonder why she wanted to do this though. On the other hand, the cameras could be switched back on quickly with a simple voice command, so if this were an assassination attempt he'd be ready to quickly issue the order. "Okay. Camera, audio, off." he said, speaking to the air in the room. Immediately, the camera and microphones switched off as he ordered. "So...what did you want to discuss?" |

RE: Egg Command Tower
[From Robotropolis airspace]
The craft shot past the base of the Egg tower and quickly pulled vertical, climbing quickly up the far side of the tower, hopefully out of sight of Robotnik's forces where the battle was taking place. "1 minute!!!" Era yelled. The ship slowed quite dramatically as it approached the towers roof. Era began circling the building, shields set to maximum, attempting to entice any soldiers or weapons to open fire on her and reveal their positions, if they were there. |

RE: Egg Command Tower
[Let's follow the old posting order of me, SOLIS, Terrador, Echo]
As Era circled the tower, she'd notice sentries and turrets. But the SWATbots and turrets were all down, due to the shadow creature attack from earlier. "What did all of this?" Giichi's eyes scanned the tower for anything that appeared to be moving, but came up empty. "Maybe they all got destroyed in whatever caused the commotion before? Like those black things that flew past the ship?" In any case, it wouldn't be quiet for much longer. Robotnik's Egg Carrier loomed nearer and nearer on the horizon with every passing second. |

RE: Egg Command Tower
Era circled the buildings a couple more times, giving anyone or anything in there able to open up on the craft or it's occupants, a chance to do so, before deciding to go for a drop.
"Alright, 15 seconds! I'm putting you down!" Era yelled over the steadily louder craft. Era pulled back on her controls, putting the craft's nose in the air, as she slowed the vehicle almost to a hover. She then maneuvered the ship over the rooftop below never quite settling into a hover. As the craft settled, the others would notice quite a bit of ominous rattling and vibration that hadn't been there before. Something was very wrong. Era knew it to, it was written on her face. However, she was trying to put on a brave front for her comrades. The ship would have to hold it's own, there wasn't anything that could be done for it at the moment. Though the thought that the ship could give up the ghost in a combat zone clearly haunted the edges of her mind. The consequences would be disastrous. Era tapped a few controls, and the back hatch hissed as it opened once again. "Good luck you guys!" Era shouted "Come on guys, lets do it!" Rog said as he gripped his weapon tightly and made the jump to the rooftop below. Amero followed next, immediately leveling his rifle at his surroundings, scanning for threats as did Rog. Tybe was the third out who followed suit in securing the perimeter. Rye, transmitter strapped over her back, followed next taking her place next to Rog. After everyone had exited the craft, Era closed the hatch, and pulled away from the building to begin her search for alternative LZ's. She used the ships forward facing cameras and sensors to begin scanning the city for possible zones for pick up. --------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Rog and Rye frantically made their way towards a large array of antenna, escorted by the others as they went. The group was leaving nothing to chance. Their guns were constantly leveled, at the ready, watching every roof feature with suspicion, as threats could come from anywhere. "alright then." Rog said as they arrived at an antenna he seemed to like the look of, "This will do. Rye, bring that transmitter over here." Rye did as asked, setting her saddle bags on the roof next to Rog as he began working a plasma torch over a thick section of cable feeding into the base of the large antenna. After a few moments, the torch cut all the way through the exterior housing revealing a braided cable beneath. "There it is." Rog said pulling the device up close to the exposed cable. "How do you know what you're looking for?" Rye asked. "Eh, you've seen one radio antenna, you've seen them all. Subluminal radios are pretty straight forward devices. "Rog replied. "However, I will be needing SOLIS for this next bit. SOLIS, remember how we talked about you reprogramming the mainframe so as to cover our tracks. Well, we need you to do that for us bud, we don't want them realizing this thing is here. Also, one more thing. If you can manage it in a short span of time, can you see if there's anyway you can disable automated weapon systems, ships, vehicles, and drones city wide? I mean anything you can shut down, do it. Do as much damage as you can while you're in there, make sure they can't turn anything back on, If you can that is." "That wasn't part of the plan Rog" Amero snapped, "I don't want to be up here any longer than I have to." "We might as well make the best of what we've got here. We're at Robotnik's HQ, we could deal a serious blow. Oh, make sure it's a delayed sort of thing, so he doesn't immediately come after us, but also see if you can hit that big ship over there too, that things gotta have wifi." Rog said with a chuckle as he looked over at the ominous ship traveling in Am and Nail's direction. While SOLIS would be attempting such, Rog would place the transmitter inside the antenna cable housing and program it for a countdown until transmission would begin. "I'm setting the transmitter for 5 minutes, we should be out of here by then." Rog said closing up hole he'd made in the antenna housing, and sealing it with some form of gum like binder. |

RE: Egg Command Tower
As they moved towards the central antennae, everyone would notice the pervasive darkness on top of the tower, courtesy of the shadow creatures.
No lights illuminated their path. Every electric bulb lay shattered on the ground or simply not turned on. They'd step past SWATBots laying down on the ground, with harsh claw marks across their bodies and visors. Generators and air conditioners lay completely silent. In fact, aside from the crowds on the streets below and the approaching ships, no sounds could be heard on top of the tower. "This is really creepy..." Giichi whispered to Rog, as he followed after them. "I hope it was Freedom Fighters that did this." As Rog hooked up the transmitter, he'd notice that the antennae also lay silent, when it should be silently humming with power. The red aircraft light on top of it wasn't on either. SOLIS also wouldn't be able to find a wireless signal or hook into Robotnik's systems, considering everything appeared to be without power here. He looked at Rog, confused as he started to seal the transmitter into the cable housing. "Do you think that's going to work without power?" |

RE: Egg Command Tower
Quote:"This is really creepy..."...."I hope it was Freedom Fighters that did this." Rog cast a look around them briefly, "somehow Gichii, I doubt it." Quote:"Do you think that's going to work without power?" As Rog finished re-sealing the antenna's outer housing, he pulled out a touchscreen tablet from his bag. "The Transmitter has its own power source, remember? The black hole crystals? It simply needed to be attached to a large enough antenna to carry its signal. If it's not enough power, we'll have to pop downstairs and restore power now won't we?" He then pulled out a smaller antenna and stuck it somewhere obscure behind two cables feeding into the antenna. "This will give us wireless access to the transmitter. Alright then.." he said quickly gathering his materials in his bags, "we're done here. Call Era back." Rye immediately pulled a small device from her pouch and spoke into it. There was a response the others couldn't quite hear before Rye would speak again. "she'll be here momentarily. She said she's almost done." |
