Egg Command Tower

[Tatsuhiro]

{“Ah, I see…”} the voice replied trailing off. Another pause before the voice spoke again. {“ One moment, Doctor. This signal is still very bad. I will find a terminal and try and contact you as soon as I do.”}

The communicator blipped out as the connection was off-ed.


[Transmission end]

(skipping Rose for now~ )

[Dr. Robotnik]

The doctor looked confused, as the connection terminated.

"Well...that was useful."

He blinked a couple times, and then gasped when he had a realization.

"Oh...great. I totally forgot to ask who he was or where he is."

The doctor called out commands to Rose on the monitors.

"Trace the signal of his transmission, please. I want to know where he is, in case this is some sort of trick on behalf of the Freedom Fighters."

[Rose Fox]

“Right.” Rose replied shortly as she began to type at speeds which looked impossible. She managed to trace it, though with a lot of annoyance. Since the signal was bad it would end while she was trying to trace it. After a couple of times, she managed to finally have a clear signal and looked at the screen curiously.

“Sayz here it came from Launch Base zone…isn’t that on Angel Island?” She asked curiously as she rubbed the side of her temple. “If he isn’t some sort of freedom fighter he’ll probably call back. That signal is pretty terrible."

[Dr. Robotnik]

The doctor once again had a look of surprise cross his face.

"The Launch Base Zone on Angel Island? Are you sure? Because...that's where I'm planning on setting up operations once we make it to Angel Island. Not to mention...I hired some members of the Thieves' Guild to get intel for me, and that was where I arranged the rendezvous point."

Robotnik sat down, looking very concerned about the realization.

"I don't think this is coincidence. What if he is a Freedom Fighter? Maybe they already know about what I'm planning to do on Angel Island, and they're getting ready to ambush us there." He scratched his chin. "This worries me..."

[Rose Fox]

Rose seemed to look curiously at the Doc. “I don’t know…that mean he’d be awfully stupid trying to contact you. I mean, if they were then why didn’t they say –they- were the contacts? As much as I hate to say it, no one’s that stupid.”


Rose crossed her arms as she titled her head to the side with her eyes closed.

“You could always try and call back. Catch the guy off guard, maybe? I dunno. Still doesn’t seem like anything to worry about…”

[Rampage]

"Bah, ambush; that's what you have me around for." Rampage scoffed as he entered the room. So, what's new Doc, besides that pyro being deader than a doornail?

[Dr. Robotnik]

"Oh good...you're here," Robotnik said, smiling as Rampage entered. He walked over to a nearby computer and brought up an image of Angel Island.

"I think I've already told you, but there's a large concentration of emerald shards on Angel Island. Naturally, I want those shards so that we have a powerful energy source on our side, not to mention an easy way to build a new force of super powerful robots. Part of my fleet is already on its way there to begin mining. We're going to set up base here, in the Launch Base Zone."

The map of the island zoomed to a lake with various metallic structures all around it.

"That's where I set up operations while I was rebuilding my Death Egg. A lot of the old buildings and infrastructure are still intact, so we can set up camp faster there and thus get to mining faster.

"Rose, I have spybots and hired members of the Thieves' Guild gathering intel across the island right now. I want you to monitor the incoming data. If you find any large concentrations of shards, let me know so that we can go there first. Also, if we get lucky and they find out about any troublemakers on the island, let Rampage and Novus know.

"Rampage and Novus, I want you to be heads of security on this operation. While we're getting set up, make sure that if there are any troublemakers around they don't trouble us for long...like this mysterious individual who just called me, if he's not on our side. And then when we head out for the shards, you watch over the convoys and worker robots. If Rose finds out where opposing forces might be on the island, feel free to go out and hunt them down. I still have some data on the island's hidden passages from when I tricked Knuckles into being on my side, so you should be able to get around quickly.

"As for myself, I will be directing the mining personally, with the special tank you saw earlier."

The doctor smiled as he looked at his small assembled group.

"So...all clear? Any questions?"

[Rose Fox]

“Right. Deskwork. I can deal with that.” Rose replied very dully. Either the entering of Rampage had dampened her mood or the idea of moderating data was just boring for her. Either way, she didn’t seem too happy about her assignment. Then again she probably would be able to do more if her knee-cap wasn’t blown off. But her expression changed soon as her laptop began to notify her about a transmission. Looking at it curiously, she quickly traced it to find that the signal was coming from the exact same place as the call. And no doubt the Doctor’s communicator started beeping at the same time.


“Doctor, either those Theif-guys are calling or it’s the guy from before. Want me to patch it through?”


[OOC: didn’t bother to waste time with posting as Tatsu. It would only be a sentence long, and since Rose is handling data and what-not I thought it’d be okay to do this.]

[Rampage]

"Security, huh? Well, if you ask me, your best bet to keep any Freedom Fighters off your back is keep 'em busy with a diversionary fight. If you plan on bringing your forces to the island in one of those big ships like you did at Solenna there's no way in heck you're going to maintain secrecy or surprise. Best if I take a few Combots, start stirring up some trouble and keep them occupied... Novus can watch over the security closer to your operations."

"Come to think of it. What do you have in the way of flamethrowers? If the inhabitants like this Knuckles character are anything like Sonic and his friends I can keep them plenty busy just by lighting the a forest or two on fire. On the opposite side of the island from where you'll be digging of course."

[Dr. Robotnik]

[Skipping Novus due to absence rule]

Robotnik smiled at Rampage's feedback.

"So, bomb the forests again like the last time I went there, eh? That sounds like a good plan. I think it'll make for an excellent distraction. Let's do that"

It was then that Rose interrupted, while his communicator also beeped in response. That strange guy was trying to call back again. He wasn't sure what to make of him yet, but he really needed to know just what his game was since he also had access to his frequencies.

"Well, put him through. I'd like to find out more about why he's at my planned base site."
