Egg Command Tower

RE: Egg Command Tower
"[ Ehhhh, yeah I guess I can show you the blueprints....]" Rose seemed to muse as the nearby screens began to show copies of blueprints. The front page showed the finish project, which looked like heavily clad knights, with beady, slanted eyes coming from out of a visor. And written in the corner was “Grimore” underlined three times while there being several scratched out blots around it.

“Rose…I thought you said these things are called skelies?”

“[Shut up! I don’t have the –actual- plans for skelies! Skelies are the product of me, not having enough supplies to make Grimores. Originally I was just mass producing the skeletons so all I had to do was put the armor on. But as time passed I found out that I may NEVER get to put the armor on them. And since I had so many of the skeletons massed produced I had to find some way of using them- WITHOUT throwing them into a scrap-heap and melting them all down and starting over again.”

As she was talking she jumped the pages over to an almost complete skeleton of the plans. It would look as anyone would suspect a robot’s skeleton would look like; a thin, meal frame with wires, open circuitry, and devices that would help such a thin frame move in heavy armor.

“[Of course I had to do a few modifications as well as covering up all the wires and stuff, but you get the basic sense of what they look like. There are a few of them coming over here, so they should be here in no time. Despite they’re lanky appearance and otherwise un-scary appearance, they aren’t all that bad. …. Well, in a ‘will have to do’ sense. Unlike the armored behemoths that I was going to make, they can’t take a hit. But then again, they can actually move out of the way unlike an armored tank.] “

“…So you traded out the heavily armored with having agility and speed?”Alta spoke up, as he looked over the plans.

“[Yes. Not to mention gun finesse. They do have there…problems. Such is the life curse with me. …And in case you have no idea of what I speak of, I can’t seem to make a robot without some sort of advanced AI. Because if I don’t, they end up being completely USELESS…]”

RE: Egg Command Tower
The doctor looked at the blueprints, but didn't add his two cents immediately. They did look a little...cute. But they did look like they'd be considerably more agile than his SWATbots. He could see applications for them. Although he couldn't help but think they reminded him of something. But what was it? He had vague memories of some TV show where teenagers fought these rubber monsters and guys in gray jumpsuits that gobbled like turkeys...

However, that train of thought was lost when Rose mentioned the tank. After shaking his head side to side for a while, he spoke up.

"Why is everyone giving me so much slag about that tank? Does everyone really think it's that bad of an idea?"

He found it curious that Rose seemed to bemoan the fact that she couldn't make a robot without some sort of advanced AI.

"What's wrong with that? Isn't that a good thing? I don't see what the problem is Rose."

RE: Egg Command Tower
“[Tank? What tank? You have a TANK!!!?]”

“I think she meant ‘tank’ as in, heavily armored robots than an actually tank, Doctor…”

Rose ignored Alta's commment, as she was far more intersted in something else. “[OOOOOooooo, I see it now! Is it a new giant mech?!? Can –I-Drive it!?]” There was a sort pause, seeming to think she knew the answer to that particular question. “[….Can I –test- drive it? Oh, please ohpleaseohpleaseohplease!]”

As Robotnik spoke of the A.I., Rose chirpy attitude turned a little sour. Not so much as showing anger but more of disheartenment.

“[You wouldn’t say that if you see how they acted.]”

“Acted?”

“[Yes. And you’ll see exatly very shortly….]”

It wouldn’t be too long before the doors to the lab opened, and in ran three skelies. There faces held a very blank emote{ | _ | } as they ran towards the Doctor and Alta, stopping with a skid only a couple of feet away. Their entire bodies seemed to twitch as they looked around everywhere in curiousness. Even they’re emotionless light eyes wouldn’t stop blinking. Though at one point they stayed still for a moment as they looked straight at the group; a pause before the one in front face turned into a happy emote {^o^} and waved his right hand high, his body moving along with him.

~Hello~ He sang, in a strangely high-pitched voice. The reason why it wound sound strange was its techno sound mixed in with the fact that it sounded like a child’s voice. Just as the first one got to the last ‘O’, the other two proceeded in doing the exact thing, sounding like an ocapello* in the process.

Hello~"

~Hello~!!”

Rose could be heard in the background, groaning in embracement.

[OOC: * I am sorry, but for the life of me I could not find out how you spell or even find out if it was the right term. Basicly, it’s when you have more than one person who sings, but each person comes out and sings what the first person says but at a different time than them to create a musical effect. Just so you know what I’m talking about. If it seems like they shouldn't be here already, that's probably because they shouldn't. I'm rushing to get things moveing.]

RE: Egg Command Tower
As the robots ran into the lab, Robotnik instinctively backed away in fear, raising his hands in front of his face as if to block an attack. However, the robots stopped just short of him and started staring around. Robotnik wasn't sure what to make of this, and kept his defensive position. And then they stared directly at him and Alta. The doctor appeared to be visibly considering running for his life.

But then one of them put on a smiley face, and started waving at him as it said hello. And shortly after that, the other two robots joined right in. Now Robotnik was VERY confused. He quickly turned to look at the nearest monitor to talk back to Rose.

"They...they're supposed to be combat troops? I don't see how that's supposed to work. They look too cute to be taken seriously."

RE: Egg Command Tower
“[Well, if you think of them in a –tactical- sense that’s a good thing. Because they would underestimate their abilities and put themselves in more danger. And with how fragile the skel-ies are, it helps if they don't try and use all they're attack force on them. I would let you see they’re abilities, but in order to show one part you’d need things that they can shoot up. Other than that you can just watch them do flips in the air.]”

Even though she was defending her own robots, her tone wasn’t all that positive. When she mentioned flips, the skel-y that was in the front blinked in recognition. It did a few starting hops before it jumped fairly high, doing a back flip and then landing perfectly on the ground behind the other two.

“Ta-Daaa~” He sung as he held his arms out with an expression that had his ‘eyes’ closed and a snide smile. The other two, who had turned around to see him land, began to clap they’re hands together.

Alta held a confused expression as he watched them. “Well, they’re certainly…spring-y.”

RE: Egg Command Tower
Robotnik felt like he was watching a little robotic circus here. Well, they definitely were cute, not to mention good performers, but he wanted to see more of how they could be used in a combat application.

"Well...I definitely do want to see how they'd do in a fight. But not here of course."

The doctor gazed around and seemed to visibly tremble at the idea of someone having a fight in here. All kinds of sensitive scientific equipment just laid about the room, from beakers and Bunsen burners to complicated super computers he'd built himself to run simulations.

It'd been part of why he'd been so nervous about having Rampage and Novus here.

"Maybe we should take them to the firing range, and they can show their mettle there better."

RE: Egg Command Tower
“[That would be for the best,]” Rose started off as she gave a sigh, “[ Okay, Skel-ies! From now on, you’re to be taking orders from Dr. Robotnik-]”

“-Dr. Robotnik?!” Before Rose had been able to finish her sentence, the robot’s exclaimed the name in unison. Out of slight confusion Rose stopped as the Skel-ies appeared to be staring into space. But not before long did the happy-closed-eye expression appeared back on their face as they lifted there arms in the air at the same time as they all exclaimed in unison.

GRANDPA!!

“[Urgggghh!]” Rose growled in anger, “[NO, you stupid INGRATES! He’s –NOT- your grandfather!!!]”

“But, wasn’t he your da~”

“[NO! Just….FOLLOW him! .....stupid robots!...”]

The three skelies suddenly hunched over with a sad look on there face.

“…O-kay.…."

Alta smiled a little bit at the antics the Skel-ies had pulled off. Even her robots after many years of the Doctor being dead could tell the strange relationship between her and the Doctor. He always had felt that the Doctor was talking about his own daughter half the time; just as Rose sounded like she was talking about her own father. Though he doubted they ever really realized that; or other than that denied it.

“[The hell you smiling at, Alta?!?]”

Alta jumped wiping the smile off his face as he quickly replied. Nothing! Nothing at all.”

RE: Egg Command Tower
Robotnik started to walk out of the room towards the exit, when the robots suddenly exclaimed his name. He turned around, not really sure what he should make of this. They appeared to be in some sort of trance after his name came to light. Confused, he watched to see what would happen next. After they called him grandpa, he looked a bit nervous as he slowly stepped towards the door.

Thankfully though Rose calmed them down relatively quickly, and told them to follow him. He was very glad she'd done that, because he honestly didn't know what would happen next after that little display they'd done.

"Very well... Follow me."

After a short elevator ride, Robotnik, Alta, and the Skel-ies would find themselves standing in the same firing range Rampage had been in. In fact, the maintenance bots in the area were still cleaning up all the shell casings and spent clips. The badger clearly went to town down here. Robotnik hoped he didn't burn through too much. In any case, more robots brought in an assortment of other guns for the Skel-ies to try, and laid them down on a table next to the firing booths. The doctor motioned for them to try out the weapons.

"All right...I suppose have at it, and show me your aim."

RE: Egg Command Tower
The Skel-ies could have gone off topic, examining the guns instead of firing, but thankful they ignore they’re general curiosity and listened to orders. They didn’t reply, they simply reacted as they got into positions in the firing range. They changed, they’re mostly childish attitude disappeared as the light that light up they’re face turned red. As they fired, it would be easy to how to compare to the SWATbots. They fired-and fast. Most of the time, in groups of three as they used the gun installed on they’re arm. They’re accuracy was okay, but it was nothing special either. They may hit the target, but they didn’t seem to hit often in fatal areas.

After letting off a number of rounds, they stopped; mostly since they’re laser ammunition had to recharge. They looked over towards the Doctor, blinking.

“Did we do well~?”

Alta was somewhat surprised at they’re sudden change of personality. But they had to be able to be combat troops somehow, and he didn’t think that there was just a childish A.I. He didn’t have much to say, seeing as how the question wasn’t directed to him.

“Well, they certainly fire fast…”

RE: Egg Command Tower
Robotnik leaned on a nearby column and observed the damage done. "Their accuracy's not that good...at least compared to hero types. For a minion army, I'd say it's wonderful." The doctor smiled at Rose's image on a nearby monitor. "I'd like to see more of these manufactured. To be honest, SWATbots aren't that much fun as company anyway. My forces could use some livening up."
