Egg Command Tower

[Novus]

"Very well, I'm right on it. Let's go Rampage." Novus said as he turned and began walking out of the room and down the hall. He was pretty sure he knew who the arsenist was, once they were down the hall out of earshot, he began to speak his mind to Rampage. "I met someone else on my way here, some gas mask guy with a flamethrower and a penchant for burning things. He was actually burning a building down when I got here, it's what drew the SWATbots to me in the first place. I hope he's not still mad about the shot he took that was meant for the machine in front of him."

[Dr. Robotnik]

[This post assumes that Rampage follows Novus out.]

"I'll keep that in mind..." Robotnik said, not really listening to what Rampage was saying. He just wanted Novus out of here before he'd seen anything else. Once they'd left, Robotnik promptly marched over to a terminal, remotely closed the door, and deleted Rampage from the lab's security access registry.

"How did he get access to this place anyway?" the doctor muttered, as he typed in more commands. "I don't let just anybody in here."

Returning his attention to Alta, he spoke up. "Perhaps we should keep an eye on how they're doing. Not that I'm all that interested in Novus' skill, but I still don't like the idea of him wandering around here until I know I can trust him."

He quickly brought up video feeds of the area where the fire had started. The doctor wasn't sure what to expect, but he certainly didn't expect to see a towering inferno to have popped up in his city so quickly. Part of the building had already collapsed and flames were roiling through what was left. It wouldn't be long before there'd be nothing left but the metal support beams.

"How...how did that building catch fire so fast?"

SWAT Surveillance would have let him know promptly about the fire, so it would have had to have occurred within the last couple minutes.

"Did someone just come into my city with a truckload of explosives? Without anyone noticing?"

The doctor whirled around dramatically, looking back at Alta.

"Well, now I'm a lot more interested in what's going on here. Alta, do you want to go out there and have a closer look?"

[Rampage]

"I get the feeling you want to talk to this clown when you find him don't you?" Rampage grumbled as he hobbled along beside Novus.

"Who cares if he's still mad about that? You heard the boss. We're supposed to find him and beat him stupid; and I for one don't mind following those kind of orders... to the letter."

"Besides if the guy is just burning down buildings for it's own sake he's probably just an outright wacko we don't want around anyway. I say we use the ship cannon and bury what's left of him in the crater."

"You might want to hit the medbay first though. You're staining the floor." Rampage grinned his eerie half-grin.

[Rose Fox]

“No, I’m fine. Right here. Where I can see it on the screen...” Alta replied, without hesitation.


“[Pfff, pansy.]”


The moment Alta heard the voice; he began looking around as though he had seen a ghost. This appeared to make the voice agitated as an angry huff sound was heard.


“[The –hell- you looking around for, Alta? I’M INCAPACITATED, REMEMBER? Furthermore, can’t you tell when someone’s voice is coming through an INTERCOM?!]”


Alta sighed in relief as he finally realized it was Rose speaking. Shaking his head out of embarrassment, he started to place his hand up to his neck. He was far too tense for his own good.


“Rose, what are you doing?”


“[What do -you- think? I’m stuck here completely bored out of my mind, and you expect me to do absolutely nothing? Pff, you don’t know me very well, do you?...]” As Rose was about to speak again her tone of voice changed. Instead of dripping with agitation and sarcasm, her voice suddenly got cheery and bright like a child who was desperately begging for something; like for ice cream or candy. “[Doctor, Doctor~! Can –I- help? Oh please ohpleaseohplease- wait. I almost forgot. Did you get my note~?]”

[Novus]

"He seemed to be trying to get some attention, that or he just liked to burn things, could be both. Either way he seemed to know what he was doing and it would be better for us to approach him directly than walk into a trap like the he was setting for those robots when I saw him. If diplomacy fails, then you can blow things up." Novus said to Rampage. "But you're right, I should at least bandage up my wounds, and you should probably see a mechanic." Novus said snickering as he fell back to follow Rampage.

[Dr. Robotnik]

Robotnik smiled when he heard the voice of his number one fangirl.

"I would appreciate help, although I don't know what you're going to do when you're still stuck in that bed. What did you have in mind to do to help me with this?"

When she mentioned a note, the doctor blinked a couple times.

"What note? That one where Alta..." Robotnik suddenly went silent, holding his tongue. He looked at Alta, rather embarassed. He was about to say "Alta was in a nurse's dress". But now that he'd said 'Alta', the young man would no doubt want an explanation. Thinking on his feet quickly, he said, "...the one where you complimented Alta on how good he was, taking care of you?"

He didn't have to say there was a drawing, after all. Satisfied, he waited for Rose's reply and hoped she didn't blurt out what he'd been trying to hide.

[Rampage]

[I vote we skip over the trip the the med bay and get right to the hunt for what's-his-name. Frankly the medbay thing is uninteresting and I'd rather get out of this topic so we don't clutter up everyone else.]

[Agreed we'll just assume we dropped by. Exit to City Streets]

Alta tilted his head back as a look of fear crossed his face as he looked towards the doctor. If any normal person had pulled what the Doctor did off, then he would have easily fallen for it. But the Doctor wasn’t any normal person. And nor was Rose. And knowing Rose meant that ‘complimenting’ wasn’t in her dictionary.


“You’re…..hiding something from me, aren’t you?”


“[No, he’s hiding something from you. I haven’t hidden anything. …Well, maybe that’s a lie…But I haven’t withheld any information from you…today.....other than five minitues ago.]”


“What does that-”


“[ AS-I –WAS-About to say, before being interrupted, I can help with my Skel-ies!]”


Alta blinked in bewilderment. “-Skelies?”


“[Yeah. They’re my robot’s-]”


The moment he had heard robots, Alta exclaimed out, cutting off her sentence. “-Wait-, when did you get robots? You’re just a computer programmer!”



There was a small angry huff sound, most likely Rose was angry at Alta for cutting her sentence off.


“[ When I –MADE- them. Idiot. What, you –really- think that I wouldn’t have learned from the great, Dr. Ivo Robotnik when I had the chance! It’s not like my hacking or computer programming skills would have helped much.]” There was a pause in her sentence as though she had thought of something that wasn’t pleasant. “[ …Well, didn’t really get to complete my training though…I got by with just looking at some old plans in the bunker’s database and some old books lying around. I may not entirely be as great as the doc, but it’s safe to say I’m better than –you-.]”



“…And you were going to take over the world?”


“[OF COURSE! What the hell else am I going to do with a MASS army of ROBOTS? Hand out milk and cookies out to everyone?! PFF. Well, I –was- originally just thinking about decimating everyone on the planet, but the Doctor told me not too....It’s surprising how well he knew me.... Either way, that doesn’t matter anymore! I can now use my Skel-ies to help the Doctor~!]”

[Dr. Robotnik]

The doctor sheepishly looked away as Alta gave him a hard look about the note. Thankfully though, Rose did a beautiful job diverting attention away from the matter by bringing up these Skelies...whatever they were. If she wanted to help, that was fine by him.

"So...Skelies. What kind of robots are they? What can they do? I'd like to know. Do you have a blueprint or something you can send me?"

If Robotnik wasn't mistaken, this would be the first time he'd see her handiwork first hand. He couldn't wait to find out how good her robots were.
