Omega started rolling around as best he could, dodging the produce. "Whip, knock it off! Not everyone likes the same foods as you! Jeez!" He grabbed an orange that was now on the floor, and hurled it back at the rabbit.

Whip had cut off halfway through his rant as he was buffeted by the citrus cannonball. He flinched a little too reactively and fell over.
"....ok....I'm better now..."

Omega started picking up all the spent ammunition scattered across his hut, and dumping it back into the basket. He mumbled something about "rascally rabbits" and "ungrateful bastards" while doing so, though it was obvious both were in a joking manner.

Whip picked himself off the floor and rubbed his forehead. His arms crossed themselves and his face began to put on a look of pouting.
"Jeez, now that I'm full, I want some action! Let's go on an adventure! Saving beautiful women! Finding rare treasure! Beating up zombie ancients and surviving dangerous traps of doom!"
He illustrated his sudden change in emotion with his hands, swaying them in the air to demonstrate his passion for this idea.
"Let's just get up and go!" He happily demanded, looking at Omega with excitement. "When in Rome, defile their ancient secrets!"

Omega sat down on the floor, and calmly watched the rabbit rant and rave. Once he had finished, Omega stopped and asked, "Whip, were are we supposed to go? We're on an ISLAND. And as far as I know, there's no other land mass within swimming distance. Not that I'm a great swimmer anyway..."

Whip immediately went from excited to downcast, sitting down with the balls of his feet touching and his hands propped up behind him.
"Gee, great optimism you got going there." Whip replied sarcastically. "There's gotta be a way off this island! You're probably just not searching hard enough!" He exclaimed, jumping up at his own voice.
He proceeded to walk up to a palm tree and kicked it with all of his strength, only to have coconuts crash down upon him.
"....ouchies..."

Omega stepped outside, and just watched the rabbit smash his foot into a tree.

"Whip.... What... Just... A tree? Really?"

Knuckles found himself suddenly falling out of a rift where the island had once floated in the air, as he reached the ground, Knuckles slammed his fist to break his fall leaving a crater where he landed. Standing up Knuckles began to take in his surroundings and realized all was not right.

"What has happened here, the island is not afloat, something must have happened to the Master Emerald!"

With that, in a panic, Knuckles ran off for the alter where the Master Emerald once stood.

After Whip disappeared from Angel Island Zone, Omega decided that he should explore more of the island, and try to find a way off. He was currently sitting against a wall of cooled magma in the tunnel connecting Lava Reef zone and Hidden Palace Zone.

Knuckles kept running, reminiscing now about the fight he once had with Sonic just up ahead. When he reached the tunnel connecting to the Hidden Palace Zone, he was surprised to see a different hedgehog sitting there. Knuckles was in a hurry, but questioning this intruder seemed more profitable than running off with no information at all.

In an impatient, and purposely intimidating voice, Knuckles said, "Who are you and what do you know about what's happened here!"
