RE: Outskirts
Novus was shocked to see the person who just threw the grenade, walk out and consume everything in fire. This was a gutsy move worthy of respect by Novus's standards, but he wasn't going to let this guy steel all the action.
Novus moved to the window, put one foot up on the window sill, and fired a couple of rounds from his drawn revolver at the back of the SWATbot that was hit by the napalm grenade. |

RE: Outskirts
Byrian's flamethrower easily burned through the SWATbot's faceplace and melted its vision sensors. It ran around waving its arms for a bit before Novus's shots finished it off. The bot collapsed in a heap on the ground, still burning extremely hot between the napalm and the flamethower.
The second one (who'd only gotten his arm burned) took advantage of Byrian being busy with the first bot to run away, farther into the ruins and away from the outpost. It fired a few shots from its arm cannon as it ran, although not very accurately. Clearly, it understood it would have to get further away so it could get out of the flamethrower's reach. "Engaged with intruder! One bot down! Target is armed with a flamethrower and fire grenades! Exercise caution in close quarters!" It seemed Novus hadn't been noticed in the confusion, since he'd been hiding above. Meanwhile, the two bots who'd left to get grenades had now arrived back. They ran around the burning building, one on each side. Before reaching the lot next to the back door, each one pitched a grenade into Byrian's general area. Since they couldn't see him though, they probably wouldn't land all that close. The bots made sure to 'cook' them first, so that they'd explode almost instantly after landing. Attempting to throw them back would be fatal. In addition, a SWATpod on patrol nearby had received the alert notice, and it was now changing its course to provide aerial support. It wouldn't take long to arrive at their location. |

RE: Outskirts
Byrain would not only hear the shots but feel them as well; as one shot did manage to graze his shoulder.
"Daphmit!!" he shouted out at the seering pain; quickly ducking down and entering the burning infurno once again. Of course, now, he made no attempt to be quite about it; booking it through the flame. The graze on his shoulder would soon feel worse as the seering heat was forced upon it, but nothing would catch fire. What was worse that now that he had been through the fire a second time -running-, he would be roasting even when he entered out. Which meant he wouldn't want to run anymore. Though he had to if he wanted to live. As soon as he would reach the other side of the bulding, he would continue his run to the outpost. If he wanted to get through this, he was going to need a little extra help. |

RE: Outskirts
[Absence rule]
"Where is he?" the bots at the back door said, as they rounded the corner. They scanned the area, but there was no trace of them anywhere. At the outpost, the two remaining bots manning it were watching in the direction of the fight, in case the intruder appeared. When it came into sight, Byrian would see a small guard tower with an anti-air machine gun nest on top, sitting in the middle of an open area. A SWATbot on the top floor of the tower opened fire with a heavy automatic laser cannon mounted to the railing, which chewed up the dirt all around the intruder. He'd have to seek cover quickly or be chewed to ribbons. "Intruder reacquired rushing the outpost! Get over here!" The SWATbots at the backdoor of the burning building turned around and ran back the way they came. |

RE: Outskirts
The saying “Out of the frying pan and into the fire” came to mind with the situation; but considering he just ran out of the fire he figured “Out of the fire and into even MORE fire” would probably be more accurate for this situation. Byrain would soon find a new level of speed as the adrenaline kicked in.
"Daphmit, Daphmit, DAPHMIT!!” Why didn’t he see this tower with the anit-aircraft machine gun? It was so clearly there? He would quickly begin to run back, entering a new alley way to escape the gun fire. He’d have to find a back door to the place if he was going to get his hands on any explosives. He would soon slow down, as soon as he was halfway into the alleyway. He was breathing hard, though thankful he had his oxygen tank with him; he’d be breathing easy in a few moment. If he had just his mask, he’d be gasping for air. |

RE: Outskirts
Realizing that the fight was moving away again, and that the only one who realized he was around was probably the pyromaniac guy he just hit accidentally, Novus leaped out of the second story window and landed running in the direction he saw everyone else go.
Now running down an alley close to thought they went, Novus rested his sword over his shoulder and put away the gun he had out. His sword would be much more advantageous in this narrow alley. |

RE: Outskirts
The SWATbot on the tower's top level continued to fire his laser cannon at where Byrian had vanished to last. But then the laser blasts suddenly stopped. Not because he'd lost sight, but because the battery on the cannon was dead. It'd need to be replaced, and quick. As fast as it could, the SWATbot quickly retreated inside the tower to get another one fast.
--- Meanwhile, the SWATbots chasing Byrian from behind failed to see him duck into another alleyway. "Target lost. Suggest we regroup at the tower and wait for backup." "Agreed." The SWATbots hurried back to the tower across the open area surrounding it. Before long, they'd be fortifying themselves there and taking up defensive positions. If anyone wanted a crack at the bots, now was the time to do it. |

RE: Outskirts
He walked at a fast as he tried to find where the alley way ended, turning right down another alleyway. He was begining to think about turning around and getting out of the place; as it was more trouble than it was worth. Still, he decided to continue on and see if it had a back door of sorts before he would decided wether or not to press on or get out of there.

RE: Outskirts
Novus noticed that the sound of heavy gunfire that could be heard in the distance had suddenly come to a stop, in his experience that meant reloading. Wherever that higher caliber weapon was, it was probably gaurding something of value.
Novus went dashing out of the alleyway towards where he heard the gunfire coming from, and ended up in a clearing where he saw more of the robots retreating to a fortification with a tower gun. "That must be the gun I heard, I'd better storm the place before they can retaliate." Novus thought to himself. Novus dashed across the clearing, closing in on the nearest SWATbot, and once in range, swung his sword at its back meaning to split it in half horizontally. |

RE: Outskirts
The tower stood in an open area with no cover, so Byrain would find it challenging to approach the tower without being seen. Perhaps his best hope would be Novus joining the fight and making an excellent distraction. It certainly got the attention of the bots.
The slowest SWATbot got a nice big gash in the back and easily went down. However, the others, upon hearing the sound, promptly turned and started spraying laser blasts from their arm cannons as they hurried to the tower. Meanwhile, the SWATbot on the upper deck finally arrived and quickly put in a fresh battery on the heavy laser gun bolted to the railing. In just a second more, he'd be firing again and Novus would be an easy target. |
