Office Raid
[Outside Soleanna's South East Wall, nameless smuggling point]

A truck pulls up to a point where storm drain leaves Soleanna, where a single Chameleon awaits, stopping while still in the trees. Large white birch trees crowding around where a stream flows nearby, the spot unto which the drain unloads its burdens in wetter weather. It would even be peaceful if not for the sounds of combat starting up coming from the other side of the city.

Soon enough, a large Equine gets out of the truck, hauling his Sledgehammer out behind him. The beaver and dingo get out as well, pulling a camo net from under the toolbox in the truck, throwing it over the truck after Tancer gets out. Once done, they form up with Albin and make their way over to the drain quickly after a quick check for anyone not involved with them.

The Chameleon looks up and watches carefully before the color literally drains from his face at realization of who it is that's coming. He recovers soon enough and speaks up "What's goin' on here, Boss? I hardly expected ya here."

"Opportunity knocks. With the guards busy with an assault, I have a small window to take something I want."

"Right. I'll let ya in," He says, walking over towards the grate of the drain. He finds a spot that looks like a weld-repair to one bar and sticks a key at it, the key half disappearing and sliding into something. He turns it with a small click and the light illusion disappears as the gate swings open. Albin steps in quickly and begins walking down the drain.

-----

[Meanwhile, in Soleanna...]

Foremen for various projects have been alerted to what their Boss is doing. Soon enough, they begin talking to individuals they trust and they know are willing to do things less then legal. ((This, as an opening for other players.))

RE: Office Raid
The shiny fox followed suit, cracking his knuckles as he entered the storm drain. "Oi, Boss horse all the fighting is th other way." Tancer couldn't see any other reason for Albin to bring someone such as himself then to crack skulls. So walking away from the 'action' was quite puzzling to the ex-but-not-so-much gang member. The look of puzzlement was clearly drawn on the young vulpine's face, his head half cocked.

RE: Office Raid
"Apparently your Foreman failed to properly inform you of our intentions here," Albin said with a bit of agitation edging his voice, though he kept facing forward and walking without ever losing pace. "You're here because your Foreman felt this would be an opportunity for you. An opportunity to join the Family," he stated, gesturing to some of the others. "Our purpose being simple. We want to restore all that has been lost, and make things better. Family protects Family, so it's also a form of protection as well from the many elements of this world."

He shifted back to the subject at hand as he stopped next to a ladder and began making his way up. "Soleanna is under attack by the deranged roboticist ruling what used to be Station Square. That means most of the guards are busy, which means opportunity. We're breaking into the Administrative building and seeing what information we can find, see if they have anything on any shards that might have been scattered. Are you in?"

He climbed the rest of the way out and looked down at Tancer, not menacingly. Just stared, waiting for an answer. The Dingo behind Tancer, on the other hand, grins at the prospect of either choice Tancer makes on the matter.

RE: Office Raid
The fox looked up, placing his feet on the rungs of the ladder, testing if it would hold his weight. Deciding it was sturdy enough he began his assent. "My foreman? He mentioned something like that, I don't know I wasn't paying attention, the guy is a geek, I don't listen to geeks." He stood up from the ladder, dusting his leather coat off. He was face to face with the horse now, unlike most of the others who made direct eye contact up close with Albin, the fox retained an unintimidated look on his face. The kind of look new, brave and stupid people had and Tancer was a bit of all 3.
"Geeks don't pay well, I aint looking for big bucks, but I don't eat air niether. I'll check this family deal out but if I'm there to be the fall guy? The skulls I crack will be free." Tancer knew he was taking a risk, but one thing he didn't know how to do was to add finesse to his words. He also had littoral you know what of steel. "I dunno about putting anything back 'the way it was', but I'll look for these shards or what ever."
Tancer looked back at the dingo, flashing him a scowl. Animals he considered scavengers such as dingos, vultures, hyenas and the like didn't sit well with him. He felt they where always waiting and biding their time like sneak thiefs.

RE: Office Raid
Albin could care less about the stare down, as long as the man followed directions when it came down to it. But at the same time, he could see something there, an impetuousness, that needed to be seen to. "Just because he seems like a 'geek,' doesn't mean he isn't an asset to us as a whole. Or dangerous, considering the usual requirements to be a part of the family. Remember that." Albin turned away, finding his mission far more important then this, moving along down the alley. "Come. We need to meet up with the others. And yes, you should enjoy the benefits of The Family. For one, it's a little hard to tax things that go under the table." He walks down through the alleyways, going down a few blocks to a construction site, were several others were gathering.

As for the dingo, it gave Tancer some distance after the scowl.

RE: Office Raid
Tancer followed Albin, the only person closer to the horse then him was the bear that was always with him. Tancer decided it was best to keep his mouth closed for now, making too many waves was never good. Also it never payed which to be honest, he was strapped for cash at the moment.
Others where taking seats around the table, enjoying a not so fresh box of reheated coffee. A lone barrel was contained some burning wood providing warmth and light for the meeting. It was dark, the perfect time for one of these 'shadow' meetings.
The metallic fox took a seat on a large construction block, he was too heavy for the seats so he had to make do. He leaned back figuring it was time for the movers and the shakers to discuss everything, something he was happy to stay out of. As of now he was wrestling in his mind weather or not that new muffler was worth skipping a few lunches for, Tancer had been fortunate enough to have been sent through a rip with his bike.

RE: Office Raid
Albin found himself a seat at the table as everyone else got seated. There was about two dozen people there total. On the otherside, one of the Foremen unfurled a large sheet of paper. Blue on white covered it, a blueprint. Being in the construction business had its advantages, such as having access to records such as these. Upon it was the closest anyone would have to a map of the main administrative building. "It's all yers, boss man."

Albin nodded to him as Rekard handed Albin a cup of coffee. "All right, gentlemen. The plan is simple. A smash-and-grab job. No gold or jewels, but perhaps the information will get us some Shards. We're looking for anything recent, preferably sightings or rumors of actual shards or perhaps reports of odd, chaotic activity. The less trouble and the less that see us, the better. The offices we're aiming for are on this floor. We'll head up this stairwell without bugging a thing. Now lets go. We don't know how long the fight out front will last and we want to do this while the Guard is still distracted with defense of the city. Everyone grab something to cover your face."

Some people were passing out welding masks and ski masks and whatever else could be found to cover a face. Albin himself had to go with a welding mask, since nothing else would fit. Rekard ended up with a ski mask. As everyone got done and started picking up weapons which consisted of whatever happened to be around, Albin began moving on his way towards the building in question, leading the pack on.

RE: Office Raid
Tancer grabbed a bandanna tying it around his muzzle only leaving his eyes and above visible. He grabbed no weapon, it would only get in his way. The metal fox made his with the pack, breaking into the building and dispersing to find what was specifically being aimed for. The group had a jolt of nervousness, the stair well making a large groaning sound when Tancer stepped on. " Shuddap ya babies" Tancer back at the crowd.
When he reached the destination with Albin, he started looking in file cabinets and bookshelves. He left any computer work to someone else, Electronic crime was not his strong point. "what the hell does a sighting look like any way?" Tancer wondered aloud, not entirely to sure what he was looking for. He stopped on a log book marked "Shard energy field test". If one was to look in the book, it was about shards giving off a field of energy, a field of energy that could be tracked mechanically with out the precise location of the shard needed.

RE: Office Raid
As the first individuals poured in, Albin stayed out side for a sec to signal to one to cut the lines nearby. Several men streamed up ahead of Albin, rushing up the stairs through the door as he makes sure things are managed. A pangolin with an axe nods and walks over, taking one sharp swing as Albin begins up the stairs himself. Sure, cut communications would be a clue that something was wrong, but not the clue that someone making an emergency call might make. By the time he'd gotten to the room 8 or 9 of his henchmen had already pushed their way in, displacing confused and scared office workers. He moved to the side and whispered something to Rekard, who noded.

"All right, listen up!" Rekard started outloud. "This is how things are gonna work! I want everyone on that wall!" he says, pointing to the specific wall. "Anyone near the windows or trying anything funny is going to be walloped so hard, he'll forget yesterday. No questions, just do. Quick now!" The large bear glowers at anyone thinking otherwise and begins helping others shuffle them to the side.

Albin begins micromanaging from the center of the room. "Jaime, Katie, you two keep a look out in the halls. If trouble comes, holler. Someone check the offices down there!"

RE: Office Raid
(had no clue Office was occupied, plan goes off with otu a hitch or trouble? I was thinking maybe Tancer sets of a metal detctor?)

Tancer tossed the book onto a desk near the horse. "There is a small bunch of these over there." The purple fox pointed in back of him to a small collection of books sitting on a shelf above a computer. "Everything else is coal and diamonds and crap."
Tancer didn't feel like searching any more so he positioned himself on guard duty, watching the office workers lined up againts the wall. "You heard the crappy bear, no heroes, no one gets hurt."
